At Home Insemination - Buddies?

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

@Waiting2BAMummy Yay that's so exciting! I'm one day behind you, currently CD13 - I didn't ovulate until CD19 last month though, I'm hoping it's a little earlier this month as my cycles are 30 days so it didn't give me a very long luteal phase!

Good that you got a peak this month! From memory I believe you can ovulate 24-48 hours after the surge so fingers crossed he can come today if he couldn't yesterday!

He messaged me this morning I’m popping home at lunchtime and he is delivering a pot of ‘goods’ @H8624. It may be too late as I did have a temp rise this morning but I’m just happy to have had a surge, and at a normal time, this month.

Fertility friend is saying I ovulated on Monday and OvuSense is saying Tuesday so not sure which one is right.

Hmm I'm more inclined to believe FF as it's quite a leap on the tuesday?

I've started using premom but I really struggle to take pics of my sticks like the line looks darker in real life I'm using onestep tests rather than easy@home ones. Day 12 today so hoping for an insem tomorrow and Tuesday.

Good luck with your attempts this month. Hope you get your positive soon. With the premom app I found it was better sometimes if I took a photo of the test and then uploaded it to the app rather than letting the app take the picture, might be worth a try.

That's a good tip I'll give it a go, I've been trying off and on for 6 years and I'm not sure I've ever caught a proper surge, today's are looking lighter but suspect that's due to drinking too much water. Day 12 today.

Hi ladies, I am 5dpo today according to premom, it shifted my O day to Monday, while Ava says 7dpo, I will go with premom because the temps increased from there. I think I am similar to you @Waiting2BAMummy at 5dpo. Hope we all get lucky this month🤞

@juneybean, mostly I took the picture with premom, I would wait for it to focus first.

Thanks! Seeing donor at 6pm tomorrow. Do you ladies do the 10 minute wait for it to "liquefy" ? I feel like I should be a pro at this but it's been 18 months since our last insemination and I always second guess it.

Th anks xxx I'm very tempted to do it xmas day but I expect I'll only be 10dpo so very early and will it potentially ruin my day haha I've promised DW I wont get obsessive like I was last time, but it is so very hard. Been trying off and on for 6 years and still no baby :(

Thank you! I was worried about timings but managed to get home from the chaps in 7 minutes so got my legs in the air! This is our 3rd donor 😬 I know the issue is with me but if you dont try it definitely wont work! Hows yours going?

Hi everyone, thanks again for your soft cup advice earlier in the month! I got a positive OPK on Friday and had my donation Friday evening. My temperature didn't spike on BBT until this morning though... do you think I had my donation too early?

Also this is a really silly and embarrassing question but I was a little surprised at how little there was - I think probably half a teaspoon. I've seen my donor's sperm test results and he has a very high sperm count but I'm worried the tiny sample amount will hinder things?! Or do you think half a teaspoon is normal?

If your temp went up today I'm guessing you ovulated yesterday, so there will definitely have been some swimmers still hanging around!

And yes I am always surprised at how little there is of the goods! Use a smaller syringe makes it seem like more

I think yesterday would have been perfect timing @restingwitchface86 my OvuSense has a graph that shows you the percentage probability of conceiving each day in the run up to ovulation and 2 days before is the highest percentage.
