At Home Insemination - Buddies?

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

I just got the result from my ultrasound - I have adenomyosis - which doesn’t look great for fertility. I can’t get an appointment with the dr until Tuesday so have to wait to find out how bad it is.

@Waiting2BAMummy I couldn't be doing with manual testing of temp, my Ava I found really useful in that sense.

I’ve got an OvuSense @ChunkyButFunky87 but I stopped using it around CD28 for the last 2 months because I was expecting AF to arrive but it didn’t and ovulation was not detected.

My donor has flaked out for today so he’s coming over tomorrow evening my OPK’s are much lighter today so I don’t know what’s going on.

I hope I actually ovulate this month I can just chalk it up to experience and my a OvuSense will learn from it.

Judging by my temp rise I think I may have ovulated yesterday. Anyone agree?

If so, I’m wasting his time having my donor come over tonight, right?

@Waiting2BAMummy, I think you can still have him come. Sometimes with my apps, ovulation was a day after the drop, you are still good to go.

Thanks @Coolhand2 he’ll be here in about 20 minutes I decided to still have him come over as I’ve nothing to lose.

My temp fell off a cliff this morning. Was never this low in the last 2 cycles.

Confirmed after 3 sustained temp rises I believe from when I was tracking so you may still have time this month :).

Have you tried an OPk today?

I did one around 10am @H8624 that was negative will do another one in a little while.

@Waiting2BAMummy I can see you're using the easy@home strips - do you use the PreMom app to interpret the results? They're designed to work with that app and I find it sooo useful!

Yes @restingwitchface86 the app says 0.31 low but I think it’s high but not quite peak.

@Waiting2BAMummy Aah that's good! What number does your peak usually hit or is this your first month using them?

I started using them last month @restingwitchface86 but I never got a peak and I don’t think I ovulated. My cycle was 42 days

@Waiting2BAMummy Ooh I see! Looking at my numbers last month, when mine read 0.3 it was the day before my peak. I peaked at 1.7 the following day. I was at 0.3 at 5pm on CD18, then 1.6 at 3pm on CD19. I'd already fallen down to 0.6 at 9:30pm on CD19, so if I hadn't been testing multiple times a day I would've missed my surge completely. Do you think maybe you missed yours last month or were you testing several times a day?

I could have missed it last month @restingwitchface86 but I’m using OvuSense too and that didn’t detect ovulation either though I did lose the will to live and stop using it around CD28. I’ve just taken another opk and got a 0.45 so I think I’ll get my positive tomorrow 🤞

Thank you so much for your help ladies you would think after 2 years I’d know what I was doing but I’ve never been very good with these opk sticks that’s why I used to use clearblue digital OPK’s but they’re expensive and I’ve read they tend to detect your LH surge later than the strip tests and given that at my age you’re more likely to ovulate on the day of your positive I can’t afford to get a late test.

It’s happening!! Not got a peak yet but haven’t had any of this for the last 2 months. Am expecting my peak later this evening or tomorrow morning.

I messaged my donor and around 2pm to say I was getting high readings so was expecting my peak later today and asked him to come over but haven’t heard back. I’ll still have him come over tomorrow night like he planned just in case I don’t get my peak until later in the day tomorrow or even if I do I might ovulate a little after my peak. Hopefully Friday nights donation will cover me until then and if not at least I should have a more normal cycle length this month!

Either way I feel like it’s a step in the right direction
