At Home Insemination - Buddies?

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

It can’t hurt to do another round tonight @ChunkyButFunky87 and at least then you won’t be wondering what if?

Coolhand2 · 18/09/2020 20:13

@ChunkyButFunky87, it doesn't hurt to try again.
I am out this month AF showed up today, premom predicted it today while other apps were saying Monday, maybe I have to trust it more moving on.
Goodluck ladies, hope you get your bfp's🤞

ChunkyButFunky87 · 18/09/2020 20:39

Ah never mind @Coolhand2

Least you know where you stand and not a weekend wasted/wondering

ChunkyButFunky87 · 23/09/2020 11:45

Hey ladies,

I'm still getting to grips with my Ava but I'm presuming because my temp as continued to dip it must means I'm not pregnant this month, as I'm sure I read it would remain elevated if I was?

@ChunkyButFunky87 it could mean that but not necessarily, good luck!!

Waiting2BAMummy · 23/09/2020 19:28

It could mean that or it could be implantation @ChunkyButFunky87. I’m in completely the same boat my temp has dropped for the last two days.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 23/09/2020 19:34

Thanks @Waiting2BAMummy @Busybee143

God this technology malarkey was supposed to make it easier!

Hope you're all well anyway x

Waiting2BAMummy · 23/09/2020 20:01

I hear you @ChunkyButFunky87 I’ve been more confused since using my ovusense than I was before!

Sending you positive vibes x

Busybee143 · 23/09/2020 20:50

I have everything crossed for you guys! Did you guys get good temp dips when you ovulated?

Waiting2BAMummy · 23/09/2020 21:01

Thanks @Busybee143 how are you feeling?

Ovusense didn’t pick up ovulation at all this month so who knows what’s going on. I feel like giving up and accepting I’m going to be childless.

Busybee143 · 24/09/2020 10:33

@Waiting2BAMummy I'm OK, still not feeling very pregnant although I'm full of a cold currently.
I'm sure your ovusense will work better the more you use it, it will happen when the time is right, you will not be childless stay positive

Waiting2BAMummy · 24/09/2020 20:41

Thanks @Busybee143 hope your cold passes quickly x

ChunkyButFunky87 · 24/09/2020 20:48

Sorry to hear you're feeling that way @Waiting2BAMummy I can't recall your circumstances but would you consider other avenues - adoption/surrogacy?

Waiting2BAMummy · 25/09/2020 07:29

I’m single and 39 @ChunkyButFunky87 so not sure I’d be a candidate for adoption. I’m going to keep trying but not sure how easy it will be to meet a donor with all the new restrictions coming in. I’ve increased my COQ10 to 300mg a day and was reading about infocol last night so I might try that. When I conceived in March I had just used isoflavones for the previous 3 months so maybe I need to give those a try again.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 25/09/2020 18:12

Yes sadly Covid isn't making it easy for anyone I'm sure @Waiting2BAMummy

I really hope you can get something sorted x

Waiting2BAMummy · 25/09/2020 18:21

Thank you @ChunkyButFunky87 you too let’s do this! 💪 x

ChunkyButFunky87 · 25/09/2020 18:26

Hopefully!! @Waiting2BAMummy

So last month I randomly came on a week early on CD 24 which will be the equivalent of tomorrow. I just want to test but I know it's pissing away money literally!

I'm also fairly sure with what Ava is doing that it's indication a no!

My best friend is also TTC, sadly suffered 2 MC's and we've gotten into the sad habit of pregnancy watch - when we spot one of the celebs we screenshot and send to winge and be jealous it's not us Grin we have an acceptable list and a not acceptable (yes we're crazy!) ie today - Princess Eugenie, not acceptable, clearly a first attempt after wedding Fertile Myrtle! Paloma Faith in the other hand pregnant after 6 rounds of IVF totally acceptable!

It's nice to have someone on my level of TTC crazy at least to joke with during these shitty times!

Waiting2BAMummy · 25/09/2020 21:18

I had a 23 day cycle one month @ChunkyButFunky87 about 9 months ago now and haven’t since.

My temps have been the same the past three days so I know it’s just a matter of time before af arrives

Waiting2BAMummy · 25/09/2020 21:23

I love you acceptable/not acceptable game @ChunkyButFunky87 and I agree Paloma is absolutely acceptable - I’m the same age as her so while it’s positive she got pregnant at that age it did take 6 rounds of ivf that I just don’t have the money for.

As for Eugenie I think she was pregnant when they got married. Why else the rush? I know she’d already postponed once but even so I think she’d have waited for a more ‘royal’ wedding had she not been in a hurry. Just my opinion though, obviously.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 25/09/2020 21:56

Something for us to pass the time @Waiting2BAMummy lol

In my head I just keep saying 'as long as it's by the end of this year' and I really hope that's true for us both x

Waiting2BAMummy · 25/09/2020 22:14

Here’s to our 2020! BFP’s @ChunkyButFunky87

Happyotamus · 26/09/2020 17:32

Jumping into this thread, hoping to use at home insemination in a few months time (hoping to get a new job first). Single woman, 35, trying to clear up my lifestyle a bit.

Have just ordered an Ava .

ChunkyButFunky87 · 26/09/2020 21:28

Welcome @Happyotamus

Good to get things a little more in sync ready for the journey for sure. Good luck Smile

Happyotamus · 27/09/2020 11:14

Thank you @ChunkyButFunky87

Yes, going to make some lifestyle changes over the coming months and get my finances in a better order.

Has anyone had B12 shots (or other vitamins) before they have done insemination? I have been looking at the Harpal Clinic in London and may book a consultation with them to see what they advise.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 28/09/2020 09:42

I think I will always be a little bit psychotic when it comes to this process . . Temps now on the rise, so could it have been an 'implantation dip'?!? Who knows . . Roll on AF or test day next week! Arghhhh
