At Home Insemination - Buddies?

H8624 · 15/02/2020 17:58

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

Hello ladies glad to see your all doing well, I see most are waiting for fertile week to arrive!
@bigblueboots that sounds strange, have you tried temping too? Is there a reason for irregular cycles? I've been in your shoes too (the inseminator) but now I'm the carrier so I know both sides very well haha

Coolhand2 · 08/09/2020 18:10

@Waiting2BAMummy, the first month of ovusense is quite different, best to use other trackers too like FF to help pinpoint.
Welcome @bigblueboots, I hope this will be your month too🤞 I haven't had irregular cycles, but I wasn't getting positive opks until this month when I really put more effort, testing 2-3 times a day. Even with testing a few times, she doesn't get anything close to peak?
@Busybee143, how are you feeling?

Busybee143 · 08/09/2020 18:19

@Coolhand2 I'm really well thanks which is actually stressing me out 😂🤔 can't win can we!!

H8624 · 08/09/2020 18:31

@Busybee143 don't knock feeling good! I felt good until about 7/8 weeks then I had horrendous headaches 😂. Second trimester is sooo much better! How many weeks are you now? I spent those first few weeks worrying something was wrong as I felt ok, but all as fine! We can't win can we!

Good luck to you all in your FW - hope this is all your lucky months! I know I've been quiet on here but always checking back and keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@busybee143 @Coolhand2 We haven't got very far with temping I think because we didn't have a consistent enough routine to get it the same time of day. I didn't realise you could do opks multiple times of day for a better result? We could def try that. Doc doesn't see any reason for irregularity, says everything is clear. So we'll press on with the best dates we can predict! Thanks for the welcome :)

Coolhand2 · 08/09/2020 23:40

@bigblueboots, you can try opks few times a day. Try that. With temping, I couldn't wake up at the same time so I invested in the Ava bracelet, some use ovusense. They are really good. 🤞 For all of us

Busybee143 · 09/09/2020 17:25

@bigblueboots
I would deffo be peeing on sticks 3 times a day near peak

bigblueboots · 10/09/2020 13:56

@busybee143 @Coolhand2 Thank you both, I've bought a pack of 50 and presenting them for DP to pee on twice a day for now, will do 3 at expected peak. She thinks I'm a bit OTT but is humouring me - truth is, I just love a graph Grin

Busybee143 · 10/09/2020 18:11

@bigblueboots I think it will deffo help.
I'm with you on the graph!

Hi ladies,

Hope it's been a good week, my Ava arrived yesterday but I missed it so got to go and collect from the Post Office later. However already on CD9 so I doubt it'll help much this cycle, I haven't used OPK's this month, but I'm hoping just to be led by EWCM etc, current apps have put Weds & Thurs next week as ovulation, obviously was caught out this month and earlier than thought so I'm thinking Saturday (CD 10) then 12, 14 just incase it's another early one, better to have some sperm before and hope it lasts 5 days than not right?! Lol

Come on, positive vibes for last chance to have a baby at 33 Grin would also make my due date the day after my birthday, I don't mind sharing lol

Positive, happy, sticky thoughts lol

Busybee143 · 11/09/2020 13:53

@ChunkyButFunky87 you got this! It always happens when you least expect it!!

Waiting2BAMummy · 11/09/2020 15:07

Good luck @ChunkyButFunky87 You’ve got this!

I’m still waiting for ovusense to give me an idea of ovulation this month but temps are all over the place. Fertility friend app is predicting ovulation for Monday which is cd17 but the last 2 months I think I’ve ovulated one cd20 so I’m thinking of seeing donor on days 16 & 18 which is the day before if ff is correct and only 2 days before if it is cd20.

Busybee143 · 11/09/2020 17:35

Sounds good @Waiting2BAMummy, seems like you have it sussed.
I always caught when I thought I'd missed ovulation so I think a little later was better for me but everyone is different

bitheby · 12/09/2020 08:21

Hello. I'm back.

Got a v v v v faint line on a FRER at 11dpo this morning. I had a chemical in April and only one unsuccessful attempt since then. Will see what progresses.

Waiting2BAMummy · 12/09/2020 13:11

Fingers crossed @bitheby

ChunkyButFunky87 · 12/09/2020 14:32

Hope it's a good result @bitheby

Got my Ava and I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it was to wear, didn't disturb me at all (haven't worn a watch in years as irritate me)

Got my first nights readings and although probably just going by last period etc it's jumped straight to high fertility today so need to decide if still doing CD 10, 12 and 14

Waiting2BAMummy · 12/09/2020 14:47

It can’t hurt @ChunkyButFunky87 and remember high is the run up to your peak so,if it is accurate (seen as you’ve only been using it for a day), your timing sounds perfect.

bigblueboots · 12/09/2020 22:50

@bitheby Crossing everything for you!

bitheby · 13/09/2020 17:25

My line this morning was fainter than yesterday. It could be another chemical.

Last time I didn't get a BFP until 13dpo and I'm only 12dpo so I'm not out yet.

I feel nauseous so am hoping this is a positive sign.

bigblueboots · 13/09/2020 22:21

@bitheby definitely not out, and a line is a line! Hope you get some good signs in the next few days :)

Coolhand2 · 14/09/2020 03:59

So glad you got your Ava @ChunkyButFunky87, it doesn't disturb my sleep too, hopefully this your month. @Waiting2BAMummy, I pray this is your month too🤞
@bitheby, so excited for you 🤞 hope lines get darker.
I am 8dpo today and of course I just had to test even though I knew it would be -ve. I was having lower backpain yesterday.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 14/09/2020 06:17

Not long woke this morning to discover my Ava ran out of battery and didn't record last night Sad so annoyed, don't know why I didn't notice.

Tbf I never read the booklet on that part but looks like it needs charging every day to be on safe side. Just annoyed I'll have even more screwed data this month, oh well

bitheby · 14/09/2020 08:32

Line consistently getting lighter and barely there today so looks like my second chemical. Feeling pretty despondent. Age is very much against me.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 14/09/2020 08:49

Sorry @bitheby been there, it's shit, hugs x

ChunkyButFunky87 · 14/09/2020 21:50

Average Monday night, just got our first go of the month in, legs up, watching Friends on the iPad to pass the time Grin 2WW here we come
