At Home Insemination - Buddies?

H8624 · 15/02/2020 17:58

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

At least you know things are progressing well if you’re feeling shitty @Busybee143 I think that’s a positive 🙈🤔

ChunkyButFunky87 · 28/08/2020 12:44

Thanks ladies

Hopefully a positive @Busybee143 mine started at 7 weeks with DD and turned into HG and a few hospital admissions due to dehydration - the joys lol I'd take it though to be pregnant again Smile

Busybee143 · 28/08/2020 17:39

@Waiting2BAMummy @ChunkyButFunky87 I feel shit but I'm enjoying it 😂 is that sad 😅

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/08/2020 17:45

Only as sad as @ChunkyButFunky87 and I wishing we felt like shit @Busybee143 😂😂

ChunkyButFunky87 · 28/08/2020 17:56

Amen to that @Waiting2BAMummy GrinGrin

Well we're off to the seaside for a couple of days, just getting packed up, looking forward to a break and some quality time with hubby and DD, a break away from brain overdrive and 2WW hopefully too!

Busybee143 · 28/08/2020 19:27

@Waiting2BAMummy @ChunkyButFunky87 we can all be sad together then!!
I'm very jealous of your mini break!!!?

ChunkyButFunky87 · 28/08/2020 19:38

It's only Clacton @Busybee143 🤣🤣 lol

My hubby has nice childhood memories, I've never been so I surprised him and booked a couple of nights for us all. Sea air, chips and quality time though, I'll take that!

Busybee143 · 28/08/2020 20:47

I'm still jealous @ChunkyButFunky87 the last holiday we had was Edinburgh last Christmas

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/08/2020 21:10

Have a lovely time @ChunkyButFunky87 hopefully you’ll be able to put the TWW out of your mind.

I’m quite happy to join the sad gang @Busybee143 😂😂

Waiting2BAMummy · 29/08/2020 11:02

So AF has arrived today so I can start using my ovusense once it’s over.

It’s weird though my cycles are usually all over the place but the last two months have both been 31 days. Maybe my weight loss has finally regulated them.

Busybee143 · 29/08/2020 13:58

@Waiting2BAMummy you have something new this month to be excited for then! I'm feeling much better today! Keep us updated!!

Coolhand2 · 31/08/2020 23:27

I am cd12 today and my Ava says fertile week is starting. I am sitting here with my feet up, our 1st insem, hopefully we will do a couple more till O day. Goodluck ladies🤞

Busybee143 · 01/09/2020 21:44

Good luck @Coolhand2, are you inseminating with a donor or partner?

Coolhand2 · 01/09/2020 23:29

Thank you @Busybee143, I am doing with my husband. How are you feeling?

Busybee143 · 02/09/2020 01:30

@Coolhand2 that's good, I really hope this month is your month!! Do you have a plan for insemination? I just used to do 2 days with my donor, always about 1-2 days before my peak because I swear my peak used to move, I think I managed to hit ovulation day last time though. Tracking is so hard even with peeing on sticks and temping.
I'm good thank you but I keep getting awful tummy ache at night hence the post now 😂

Coolhand2 · 02/09/2020 04:24

@Busybee143 sorry about the tummy ache, I hope it gets better. And it happens only at night? Tracking is so hard, so nice you finally hit your O.
I used ovulation sticks and I hardly get 2 strong lines, always faint, so I don't know when my peak is. Cd12 I got close to positive then it was faint after. So I wonder if I will get a peak later on. My 2 apps are 2 days apart on O day, 9/5 (cd17) and 9/7 (cd19), I told my husband we should inseminate daily but he thinks it's too much. So far we did cd12, cd13, hopefully he agrees to do it daily, lol. hope this is our month.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 02/09/2020 06:43

@Coolhand2 I've always been told that a day apart is best - gives hubby's sperm time to replenish and be of best chances

I also have apps saying 2 days apart Cad 15 & 17 this month so we did 14 & 16, were meant to do 18 but didn't happen.

6.30am and out for a run . . Not sure what happened to me, this is not normal Grin still got a lot to loose though so hope it helps

Coolhand2 · 02/09/2020 07:49

@ChunkyButFunky87 wish I could join you for a run, I used to run but life has been so busy and I left it plus I gave away my running shoes, I need to get new ones. I started skipping rope challenge, my tummy is too big, wanna lose it. You are right, we should inseminate every other day, I guess desperation here lol.

Busybee143 · 02/09/2020 08:34

@Coolhand2 I would recommend every other day too. Deffo try and hit ovulation day. I miss running! I've not run in like a week!!

ChunkyButFunky87 · 02/09/2020 09:18

I certainly can't say I love it just yet lol but I'm trying. Couch 2 5K has been ok so far, I haven't run for years and at 17 stone it's a lot of extra weight to be carrying around but I'm pretty proud of myself being on Week 4, Run 2 and so far I've not stopped/managed to do them all.

Hopefully I can complete it

Busybee143 · 02/09/2020 14:17

@ChunkyButFunky87 I'm sure you will be able to finish it, sounds like you are doing really well!!

Waiting2BAMummy · 02/09/2020 20:27

Sounds like you’re doing really well @ChunkyButFunky87 just be careful you’re not doing too much as that can be bad for TTC too.

Good luck @Coolhand2 hope this is your month.

Hope your tummy ache eases soon @Busybee143

Busybee143 · 03/09/2020 07:04

@Waiting2BAMummy first night in 5 nights I haven't been up at least twice with my stomach, I managed to get a really good sleep!!!! 😁

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/09/2020 07:38

Good news @Busybee143 although the bean is preparing you for things to come 😂😂

#CantWaitToBeSleepDeprived

Busybee143 · 03/09/2020 13:40

Haha don't, we already have a 14mo so some nights are rough!
