At Home Insemination - Buddies?

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

Sorry to hear that, I've not been at it as long, August 2019 so I'm coming up a year. Have you been to the doctors yet? I'm thinking about it as my cycles are quite short I think

@Busybee143 my cycles are short, too. i managed to get them from 19-22 days to 23-26 days by taking vitamin B complex, vitamin C, vitamin D, Omega-3's and Evening Primrose Oil along with the folic acid.

although i'm not sure which ones were responsible for my cycle lengthening, i know that they all help with fertility. vitamin E does, too but i haven't been taking it for a while and not noticed my cycle getting shorter.

hiya everyone. donor is coming round again in an hour or so because last night i got a very near positive OPK and then it started fading after this morning. i'm just a little worried that there's no point, however. i know that the lh surge typically happens 24hrs before ovulation AND i think i just experienced an ovulation twinge on my right side (was quite painful for a second then chilled out over a few mins). but.. my cervix seems to be lower and harder than it was yesterday. maybe i'm just being paranoid but there's also a lot less cm which is beginning to be creamy again? that's 2 signs i'm ovulating now and 2 signs i'm not 😂 so confused.

it is so stressful ttc...

I think I did my second insemination too late but it doesn't matter, just have a go and hope for the best. Temping has deffo helped me this month as it confirmed ovulation

@Busybee143 it's my second, too. think the first one was too early as well haha would be amazing if i conceived this cycle it's been all over the place 😂 i've been temping too and no rise yet. was its lowest this morning. i've being doing absolutely everything to track my most fertile times and i'm probably going to end up insane lol

If you haven't had your ovulation drop then now should be a good time to inseminate again, good luck!!

I had anothe postive opk during my last cycle after I really thought I'd ovulated and bbt conformed. I went with my gut and people on here! And travelled down. I happened to get my bfp last month but still unsure of ovulation date. What I'm saying is you might as well cause you don't know 100%! Especially if donor coming to you ! I wish you best of luck.

I had af type cramps Sunday and yesterday and I’d read that some women have this at implantation so I broke my own rule and tested with a cheapie one step test and of course it was BFN.

I’m only 7/8 dpo what is WRONG with me?!

@Waiting2BAMummy I've been through the mill too.
I've been spotting since 5dpo and I'm now 11dpo and I'm still spotting it's everytime I wipe and about a thumb full on a pad each day though fingers crossed it seems to be spotting. I was pulling my hair out so I broke my rule too and did I cheapy which I got a feint line on, I don't know whether it's a good or bad thing though. I normally wouldn't test early but I guess Thursday isn't too far off and I was over shooting it a bit. I feel a little worried that I'm having a chemical or a 3rd miscarriage is on its way. I hope things work out for you

hello, can I join you guys on this journey. My husband and I are trying for our 3rd, since his car accident 5yrs ago he is not able to ejaculate dtd, so we use this method, it worked with our 2nd born but it took 10mths, I am hoping this time around won't take too too long. Waiting on my period in 2 days to start cycle 3. This month we didn't try as we were making a big travel so it was too busy and stressful to even try. Hopefully next month will be our month. I want to order syringes and opks, I haven't used opks much but I really hope to use them now, I see the ladies who got their bfps used them and bbt. I also have the Ava bracelet, which helped us conceive the last time, I will use it again and the opks. I am really excited to try again. I just read your posts ladies and hope we get our bfps, congratulations to those who got theirs.

@Waiting2BAMummy I'm OK, I think the spotting has stopped fingers crossed. If so I'm bang on 4 weeks today (I have 24/25 day cycles normally)

Where are you at now?

I’m CD13 today and 9/10 dpo. If I was right and I ovulated on cd 13/14 then AF is due Saturday/Sunday. I have one cheap stick test that I’m thinking about taking on Saturday.

@Waiting2BAMummy Thanks for the welcome. I do recommend Ava bracelet, I was thinking of tempting at the time I got it but I love my sleep and didn't see myself waking up to take temps. It was a good solution for me as I didn't have to wake up for bbt, we conceived 5 mths after using it. My husband was tired of bfn too, he wanted me to bite the bullet and just buy it even though it was expensive.

I’ve been undecided between the Ava bracelet and the ovusense. The amount of money I’ve spent TTC I should have just bought one or the other a long time ago @Coolhand2. Wishing you luck for your next cycle.
