At Home Insemination - Buddies?

H8624 · 15/02/2020 17:58

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

Ouch! Yep I'm not pregnant, just fat and it's far too much today! Haha

I tested (again) yday - still negative, I'm officially late now though, so I'm either getting a crap long cycle or there's still a small chance I'm pregnant and as I've preached before, never had a positive before 4+5 which would be this Tuesday . . Yet I still bloody test! I can't help, it's driving me insane lol

Yes @H8624 I'm very pleased with my line progression. Took my first digital to!

Congratulations on your little boy @H8624 did you have a preference? I know they say you shouldn’t but I think if most women do if they’re honest with themselves.

That’s great line progression @ohsotrying congratulations

Fingers crossed you’re late for good reason @ChunkyButFunky87

My donor is supposed be coming over tomorrow but still haven’t heard from him so have no idea if he’s actually coming or not. I don’t want to hassle him as I know he’s busy.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 09/08/2020 09:29

I think I have a squinter Hmm

Can't get a picture of it, it's that squintable

Now out of tests, reorder doesn't come for a few days

Waiting2BAMummy · 09/08/2020 09:54

I really hope you do @ChunkyButFunky87 boots sell FRER’s, just sayin’ #I’mABadInfluence

ChunkyButFunky87 · 09/08/2020 10:25

@Waiting2BAMummy GrinGrin made me chuckle!

I'm hoping to hold out to Wednesday now, I know it sounds daft but it's the 1st anniversary of my Grandad passing and I'd love it to be a celebration of 2 lives. Plus that'll be 4+6, so goes by my 4+5 thing for definitive positives

Busybee143 · 09/08/2020 11:06

@ChunkyButFunky87 good luck 😀

Waiting2BAMummy · 09/08/2020 15:17

I understand @ChunkyButFunky87 and that would be a beautiful way to mark that day. It does make sense too to wait until after you would usually positive as then you’re result is pretty conclusive either way rather than second guessing the situation.

Wishing nothing but positive vibes but Wednesday x

just did the insemination and i'm currently lying on my bed nervoussss! i'm a single woman using a known doner :P i planned a nice at home spa day if AF comes so at least it won't be the worst day.

Busybee143 · 09/08/2020 19:11

Busybee143 · 10/08/2020 13:57

Urgh @ChunkyButFunky87 sorry! Roll on the next cycle eh

Waiting2BAMummy · 10/08/2020 19:10

Bless you @ChunkyButFunky87 sorry to hear that I was so hoping you were going to get your BFP.

My donor just visited as he couldn’t make it yesterday. Currently lay with my legs up a wall - attractive, right?! I had lots of EWCM earlier though so kind of thinking I’ve missed the boat as they say you should have the swimmers ready and waiting. If I’m ovulating today and it takes them 12 hours to get where they need to be I’m already too late.

Busybee143 · 10/08/2020 19:13

@Waiting2BAMummy have you used opks too?? I wouldn't worry about your ewcm too much as I think everyone is a bit different. Also it's your body's way of sliding (haha) the sperm along so I bet you've had the perfect timing!!! Good luck.
How are you doing @ChunkyButFunky87?? You'll be ovulating again before you know it

Waiting2BAMummy · 10/08/2020 19:16

No I stopped using OPK’s because I was getting obsessed with them and the first month of not using them I got a BFP but unfortunately that ended in a chemical pregnancy. Trying to stay away from them but might have to next month

ChunkyButFunky87 · 10/08/2020 19:20

Thanks ladies,

I'm ok, just about to head out for my second run of Couch 2 5k, trying to at least get fitter and healthier for when I hopefully do fall pregnant 😊

I've also ordered a thermometer, going to try this BBT for the first time, worth a try for the sake of a £10 thermometer and much easier than peeing on sticks each day x

Waiting2BAMummy · 10/08/2020 19:44

Ohhhhh I might try that next month too @ChunkyButFunky87 at least you’ll know when you can stop trying.

Well done on the getting fitter, it will help you cope with pregnancy better but might also help you conceive too 🤞

Busybee143 · 10/08/2020 23:07

@ChunkyButFunky87 I've been temping this month alongside peeing on sticks but I only peed on about 5 as I'm sick of them too. Well done on your running, I'm a runner myself and really helped me through my miscarriages, it's a real stress relief

ohsotrying · 11/08/2020 11:05

I did bbt and it's really helpful it meant I was slightly unsure of ovulation day as I used it alongside opks. But it showed I Deffintly ovulated and is reassuring me at the moment as temp is staying high. As you said worth it for £10!
