At Home Insemination - Buddies?

H8624 · 15/02/2020 17:58

For several reasons hubby and I are going down the route of at home insemination. It can be quite a lonely process I think - does anyone want to join me and we can go through it together/share tips etc?

Bit of background - we've tried for 2 months now both unsuccessful. I'm using clearblue ovulation detector to get my peak, and we've been doing the insemination every day from when I get my flashing smiley to the day after the peak, give or take the odd day! Using 10ml syringes and laying down afterwards for 20-30 mins.

Finding the 2ww a real struggle, and my heart breaks every time AF comes! I know it's only been 2 cycles and could take a lot longer so need to be patient! Altho feel like everyone around me is having babies which doesn't help!

Anyway sorry for going on - anyone want to join and share their experiences/tips? Need some motivation and hope!

I'm feeling a bit more confident that the second peak I did ovulate. I had a couple peak tests then high knoe there low. Last time it stayed at high. CM has changed etc. Only on day 2 dpo these two weeks will go on for ages !

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/07/2020 18:43

Ages isn’t even the word @ohsotrying! Trust me you’ll convince yourself you’re pregnant at least 44,7654 times over the next two weeks- I’m probably even being conservative!

Busybee143 · 28/07/2020 21:04

@Waiting2BAMummy maybe our cycles need to meet in the middle as mine are a little short and yours seem a little long.
@ohsotrying hope you've had the perfect timing 😊
Im going to be contacting our donor soon to arrange some insemination dates for this cycle, hopefully I will have better timing this time

Waiting2BAMummy · 29/07/2020 00:17

Mine are not normally this long @Busybee143, no idea what’s going on. In the last six months I’ve had one cycle that was 30 days but that was directly after my chemical pregnancy so it’s not a reliable month. Tomorrow is day 32!

Hope you have better luck this month.

Busybee143 · 30/07/2020 02:04

@Waiting2BAMummy have you only taken one pregnancy test?

Waiting2BAMummy · 30/07/2020 17:50

AF arrived yesterday @Busybee143

Busybee143 · 31/07/2020 01:56

@Waiting2BAMummy sorry to hear that, onto a new cycle though 😁

Waiting2BAMummy · 31/07/2020 12:49

Thanks @Busybee143 I wasn’t surprised so I am just glad to be able to move onto this month now.

Have you contacted a donor yet?

ohsotrying · 31/07/2020 17:19

Just got to take this cycle again @Waiting2BAMummy ! Beta of luck
I'm so confused, again it dosent take much. Orgiably this chart said I ovulated on 26 24 hours after my first postive. I got donations on that day and one after. But when I put my bbt in for today it changed to 24th I'm so confused ! I just hope I did donations at good times

@ohsotrying I'd say you ovulated on day 14 where the line is now. But are you taking your temp at the same time each day? As if not it may not be fully accurate x

Not fully @H8624 as I work shifts (nhs) but it's been with an hour, once or twice and hour and a half. I do think I just have ovulated at some point though !

ChunkyButFunky87 · 01/08/2020 16:22

Sorry AF arrived @Waiting2BAMummy but as you say, least can move on now.

I'm due AF next Saturday, last hour or two I feel like I'm about to come on, just getting that mild crampy feel, but have never come on this early/short between at only 24 days since last so I doubt I could be.

How's everyone feeling this weekend?

ohsotrying · 01/08/2020 16:36

Well I'm either 6 or 8 dpo according to charts. Got completly dry cm and some cramps. I just want it to get to a point I can confidently test , this is awful !

ChunkyButFunky87 · 01/08/2020 17:12

I hear you @ohsotrying !

I'm telling myself I won't test until next Saturday/Sunday, first day missed (hopefully) I have 1 x FRER in and 2 x clearblue weeks in

Waiting2BAMummy · 01/08/2020 20:07

Fingers crossed for you both @ohsotrying and @ChunkyButFunky87. Every time I want to test early I remind myself that I’m basically peeing on a five pound note. I figure if I’m pregnant with a viable pregnancy I’ll still be pregnant after AF is due. I know I make that sound really easy but trust me I have many arguments with myself!!

My donor who is 100 miles away is working away when I’d need to see him and my other one hasn’t got back to me yet so this month isn’t looking great!

ohsotrying · 03/08/2020 14:45

I think I've got a squinter either 10,8 or 6 dpo! Gonna what till 5th at earliest know. I think af due on 8th but app says it could be 10 if I ovulated later. I hate not knowing my timing ! I've got 10 one step tests and 2 frers I'm saving

ChunkyButFunky87 · 03/08/2020 15:38

I can't lie @ohsotrying I personally can't see, but I know I've had a test before where it didn't really show on a picture. Here's hoping for you.

I tested yesterday lol nothing

I've ordered more FRER which won't come for a couple days anyway. I'm due on Friday, and admittedly I'm starting to get itchy feet now. The first week went quite quickly but now it's dragging.

Please let this be our month!

ohsotrying · 03/08/2020 15:45

Every time I look at that photo I cant see it pretty sure there is a squinter in rl. Gonn atry my best to try not to test for 48hrs. I know it's dragging so much. I swear I had some breast pain yesterday only time will tell. I know next month might be easier. But just so hope this is our month !

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/08/2020 19:34

The second week is always the worst @ohsotrying and @ChunkyButFunky87. I think it’s because in the first week you know there’s no way of knowing what’s going on and you wouldn’t have even implanted until the end of the first week at the earliest but then you read all these stories of women who get blazing BFP’s at 8dpo so as you head into the second week the struggle to resist is real!

Good luck ladies

ohsotrying · 04/08/2020 14:19

Really symptom spotting I've already peed 7 times today either 11 or 7 dpo. One step taken bfn

ChunkyButFunky87 · 04/08/2020 14:54

Not symptom spotting @ohsotrying but I just feel away with the fairies today, obsessing in my head. Trying to just relax and forget but easier said than done. Was looking back at my past cycles (CD27 today) and majority of my AF are 27, but then I tend to hsve one or two longer cycles after a couple of 27 days so then my head was thinking well technically I'm late tomorrow lol but my average cycle is 28 days, app showing AF due on Saturday and I just don't know. Got clearblue digital left at home, do I really want to waste, as I've said before I've never got a positive until 4+5 which is a week today arghhhh

ohsotrying · 04/08/2020 15:14

Oh @ChunkyButFunky87 tht must be diffcuilt. I've realised I've actually got 6 frers and a few one steps but they expensive so don't want to waste. As I've not had a pregnancy yet I don't know when to expect a proactive if I am if you see what I mean. As curiosity I've tested with opk and they are high. Don't know if it means anything though

Busybee143 · 04/08/2020 16:16

Try and hold out guys, you've got this. Peeing on sticks cost money, that's what I tell myself 🤣🤑 wishing you all the luck, my donor will be coming this week, twice I hope, so the journey starts again.

ChunkyButFunky87 · 04/08/2020 16:41

Indeed!

What is it they say, the definition of insane is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. . I really hope I'm not going insane lol

ChunkyButFunky87 · 05/08/2020 06:09

Woke to the news/picture of my work colleague/friend having had her baby 3 weeks early. Had to pee on a clearblue to try and navigate my emotions . . Still not pregnant lol
