So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

Just reread my previous post think I meant ‘hear’ not ‘here’ clearly my brain had already gone to bed! 🙈

Opinions please ladies....

So I use the clearblue advance dual hormone opks which state they should be using with fmu. However, except on one occasion I have always got my positive in the afternoon. Since these kits are so expensive would I be risking it by just testing in the afternoon rather than morning and afternoon?

Persipan · 07/10/2019 14:02

I always used to do the dual one with FMU but then after I'd got the first smiley, I'd use cheapies pretty much every time I went to the loo to make sure I didn't miss my LH surge.

DancingKittens · 07/10/2019 22:28

Thank you for your help ladies - so much to think about Confused Been tracking with the clear blue monitor thingy so I feel like I've got a bit more of a clue about my cycle now at least.... I keep forgetting to take my temp but I'll get back on that one. @KLO0224 I just looked up smep, that's real dedication!! We're a long way from our donor so sadly we're a bit limited with how much we can travel which is a pain!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 08/10/2019 00:58

@Pinkfamily - on the last attempt I got the static smiley in the afternoon and inseminated that evening, then the next morning and evening. Bizarrely, although that was the Sunday and Monday, and we're told frozen sperm only live for 24 hours, the date of conception has been calculated as being the Thursday. Most bizarre.

I'm fine. Sickness over (touch wood) but I'm tired all the time. So much for the second trimester energy boost! Wee bump making an appearance though I've yet to definitely feel any movement.

Keep going, you lot. Sometimes has to join me with a BFP soon, surely?!

KLO0224 · 08/10/2019 10:01

Can any of you lovely ladies give any tips on the actual insemination, things like position and tools used 😂. Do you inseminate straight away with fresh sperm or leave it for a while? (I've read that it separates after a while?) Any help is great. Also does anyone use pre seed?

Waiting2BAMummy · 09/10/2019 19:40

I’d love to join you @TimeIhadaNameChange! Must be time for your next scan soon? Will you find out if peanut is a boy or girl?

@KLO0224 I use soft cups, the donor makes his donation straight into the cup and I just insert it after he’s left. No need to transfer the sample so less chance of spillage/wastage. If you’re going to do this you need to insem ASAP as spent dies on contact with the air and obviously the soft cup doesn’t have a lid. Good luck.

How is everyone doing?

I had my first donation for this cycle on Tuesday (CD12) I only had 2 sticks left for my clearblue opk for today so had ordered some more that were delivered today so Sod’s law I got my static smiley this afternoon!! Donor visited today and will be again tomorrow.

LanieM87 · 11/10/2019 17:37

@Waiting2BAMummy fab news that you've got a donation for the day of your static! Keeping everything crossed as normal!

No updates here. I'm expecting a positive OPK in the next couple of days. Which will be my third 27 day cycle, so I'll probably make plans to order from SellmerDiers next month, no real luck finding anyone on coparents as yet, but to be fair I've not really put that much time in to it.

Waiting2BAMummy · 11/10/2019 22:08

Sounds like your cycles are getting back to some semblance of regularity @LanieM87, thankfully. I’m hoping not to be joining you next month but if I am it sounds like we’ll get our positives around the same time so will be going through the 2ww together!

OP posts:
LanieM87 · 12/10/2019 15:43

Here's hoping @Waiting2BAMummy !!

I was just thinking our cycles are quite similar now! But yes absolutely everything crossed that you're about to go through your last 2WW!!

Pinkfamily · 13/10/2019 17:49

Hello ladies.
So I had my static smiley this morning (1am as couldn't sleep thinking about the process ahead!) and inseminated this morning around 9am. I will also inseminate tomorrow morning. It's all a bit stressful like did I heat the specimen long enough, did I get it all in the syringe, is there air in the syringe....argh!!! It such small samples you can't imagine it doing such a big job!!!
@Waiting2BAMummy seems we will be going through the 2ww at similar times. @LanieM87 sorry you didn't have much luck with co parents, I know it is costly with clinics but I think it takes some of the stress out of relying on the donor @TimeIhadaNameChange it is strange they have given you a different date to the one you inseminated on 😅 glad to hear you are getting over the sickness, with the tiredness maybe take some liquid iron?

Waiting2BAMummy · 13/10/2019 19:36

Fingers crossed for you @Pinkfamily. I got my static on Thursday so you’re 3 days behind me. Sounds like you have timed things perfectly. Good luck with your next attempt tomorrow morning.... and then we wait....

Any sign of your positive yet @LanieM87?

OP posts:
LanieM87 · 13/10/2019 20:19

Fingers crossed for you to @Pinkfamily sounds like your timing is perfect!!

I got my static today @Waiting2BAMummy so I think I'll definitely have another go next month and just keep my fingers crossed that my cycle stays reliable!

Pinkfamily · 14/10/2019 16:30

@Waiting2BAMummy I've got my fingers crossed for you too....we just have to try and keep busy these next couple of weeks!!
@LanieM87 are you definitely going ahead next month with SellmerDiers? Your third 27 day cycle is great news ☺️

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/10/2019 19:23

How are you doing with distracting yourself @Pinkfamily? Today is 3/4 dpo (I think I may have ovulated on Saturday) and usually I’m okay for the first week it’s the second week that drives me crazy but this month I’ve got all the crazy!

OP posts:
LanieM87 · 15/10/2019 20:07

Yes I'm going to order from SellmerDiers next month @Pinkfamily might as well continue wracking up the credit card debt 🙈

Pinkfamily · 16/10/2019 07:59

@Waiting2BAMummy thankfully I've actually got a few days away Sat-tues so that will help A LOT. I'm trying to keep busy with work (I sell health & wellness products) but I work at home so trying to get out the house like taking dog for a walk and meeting friends for lunch. Each day is dragging though 😔
@LanieM87 oh god I know it's definitely not the cheap option!!! The vials were so tiny (not sure what I was expecting) and I just didn't think I could go with the option of trying to find a donor- I've not read much positive things on that though I know a few of you ladies have managed to find really good ones!
How are the rest of you ladies ☺️

Waiting2BAMummy · 18/10/2019 21:03

Hope you have a lovely few days away @Pinkfamily

Hi hadn't realised there was such an active donor conception thread on here. I'm ttc baby number 2 I have a 7 year old who was donor conceived. I'm using IC tests I tried for a few months then I've been taking a break as it was getting me down and I've changed donor advice he kept missing the pot 😂. Met new donor today and he seems nice.

Waiting2BAMummy · 19/10/2019 20:36

Hi @GreatestShowUnicorn lovely to hear another story of someone who has successfully been pregnant from donor home conception. I’m just entering the second week of my 2ww started trying 12 months ago and have actively tried for 9 of the 12 months.

Good luck with number 2 and your new donor how long did it take you to conceive number 1?

OP posts:
GreatestShowUnicorn · 19/10/2019 20:49

I was very lucky and conceived first cycle with my first with a donation 3 days before ovulation and no positive opk!!

Waiting2BAMummy · 19/10/2019 20:57

Oh wow I’ve read a few stories like that @GreatestShowUnicorn nice to know that circumstances don’t always have to be as perfect as were led to believe.

OP posts:
GreatestShowUnicorn · 19/10/2019 21:06

I had completely written it off presumed it wouldn't have worked and had bought clearblue expensive thing for the next month then boom symptoms hit!

GreatestShowUnicorn · 20/10/2019 17:28

Has anyone used soy isoflavones?
