So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

You’d think they would want your subscription money @LanieM87 I would email them again.

I am planning to do SMEP this month starting on CD14 (Friday) no sign of any CM yet so thinking it’s going to be a late ovulation again this month. Have spoken to my donor and he is happy to help again.

So hoping this is my month.

Of course it is @Pinkfamily the delivery is super quick!, they give you a rough time slot, usually a morning I think. It's delivered overnight so you get a good few days out of the tank and yes it comes with defrosting info! Worth noting that if you order one vial it comes as two separate ones, though they suggest you use it in "one go" but you don't have to!

@Waiting2BAMummy I know! It's been a few days so I'll message again!
That's good news about your donor sticking with you, at least he is flexible so it gives you the best possible chance!

Pinkfamily · 11/09/2019 18:17

Great thank you @LanieM87 ah it comes in two separate vials, interesting! Though I suppose .5ml is hard to get in the syringe (do they supply you with these too?) did you hear back from the coparent forum yet?x

Is SMEP different to at home insemination @Waiting2BAMummy? Sorry so many different abbreviations that I need to learn! Did I read that you've moved into a new home? I bet that's lovely, nice change x

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/09/2019 13:55

SMEP is the sperm meets egg plan @Pinkfamily. It’s not about the method (i.e. natural or home insemination) it’s about how often you try. SMEP says you should start trying every other day from cycle day 8 until you get your positive opk. You should the. Do the day of your positive, the 2 days after, miss a day and then try 1 more time.

I’ve amended it slightly I don’t start so early, last month I started CD11 this month I didn’t start until today (CD16) as the last 2 months I’ve gotten my positive quite late and I don’t want my donor to get fed up. I also only did the day of my positive and 1 day after but might do 2 this month.

How are things going with you? Made any further plans into your first attempt?

@LanieM87 did you here back from co parents?

@TimeIhadaNameChange how are you feeling? Hope you’re doing okay.

Hi everyone,

Sorry, have been ignoring emails and didn't get any notifications from this. Gave up on the PhD two weeks ago (spent most of the days asleep, decided it wasn't worth killing myself for), was then visited by my supervisor who had got me a two-week extension so here I am, STILL in my bloody office, STILL writing about stuff I lost interest in a while ago. Hey ho!

I'm ok, @Waiting2BAMummy. Not quite so tired now. Strange pain in the groin area though, but I can put up with that. Am heading east tomorrow to hand in thesis, then have second scan (in the hope they can actually get an accurate measurement) over there on Tuesday. So I get a night in a B&B and a shopping trip, paid for courtesy of DP, who seemed quite taken aback I wasn't getting a post-study holiday. (I pointed out the last two weeks were my 'holiday' from work.)

I hope you have better luck this month. Wonderful that your nice donor is willing to help you again, and stick to the SMEP plan.

@LanieM87 - oh bodies are awkward sods, aren't they? Just when you think you have them figured out they go crazy and break the rules. Hope you hear back from CoParents soon.

@Pinkfamily - welcome to the crazy world of donor insemination! It's great that you're tracking early, but, as you may have noticed, be prepared for your body to decide to misbehave as soon as you place an order! Are you temping, or just using OPKs? I did both. The problem with temping is that you don't know you've ovulated til after the fact, but at least it can give you confirmation that you inseminated at the right time. Be warned though, one month my temp app decided I'd ovulated a few days before I expected to, then told me for a week my period was late ('You might be pregnant!') and then, once my period came emended its data to show I'd ovulated when the OPKs said I had. So don't put too much faith in it.

Good luck all of you!

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/09/2019 16:05

Bless you @TimeIhadaNameChange at least after tomorrow the thesis will be done with and you can concentrate on your pregnancy. I hope ‘mini TimeIhadaNameChange’ is more cooperative on Tuesday, enjoy your shopping trip are you shopping for baby stuff?

My donor visited this morning and is due to to visit again on Tuesday. I ran out of test sticks for my Clearblue opk on Wednesday and my replacement wasn’t delivered until yesterday so have been using the fermometer ones you sent me until this afternoon. I’m worried maybe I have already ovulated and I missed it but have zero CM this month so maybe I’m not ovulating at all this month. Last month I got my positive on CD 17 (which is tomorrow) and the month before I got an abundance of EWCM on CD 20 so there is still time, just not sure what’s going on. I’ve done 2 fermometer opks today too and they do look darker than yesterday so hopefully I haven’t missed it.

I bought a car yesterday and am picking it up next weekend. There was one I liked more but it didn’t have isofix anchorage points so went with a different one.

OP posts:
LanieM87 · 15/09/2019 18:17

The two vials fit in the one syringe that they provide @Pinkfamily I've no idea why they send it in two!

Still not heard back from coparents! Gunna email them again!

Fingers crossed for SMEP again this month @Waiting2BAMummy keep persevering- you'll get your BFP soon enough! Hope you're settling in to your new home ok? Good news on the car too!

Glad to hear you are doing well @TimeIhadaNameChange fingers crossed all goes well for your 2nd scan this week!

My body is throwing me another loop, so July I had the longest cycle since coming off the pill last year, 39 days, August I had a 26 day cycle, which I've never had! I've started OPK testing and this afternoon I've ended up with a nearly positive IC on day 13, so looks like I'm gearing up for another short cycle, I was previously averaging 31 days! What is going on?!! 😩

Waiting2BAMummy · 16/09/2019 08:49

Morning ladies, would you say that this is positive? I got this, this morning and am going to use my clearblue this afternoon.

If I don’t get a positive on the clearblue I’m wondering if I should tell my donor I did and then get him to visit tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday. Or should I wait until tomorrow and hope I get my static then when he is due to visit tomorrow anyway?

LanieM87 · 16/09/2019 10:12

@Waiting2BAMummy it looks like it's not quite positive to me - but very imminent, did you do that this morning? I'd take another after lunch, but I'd still think it was worth a donation.

Waiting2BAMummy · 16/09/2019 10:35

It was this morning @LanieM87 I have my clearblue with me for this afternoon. Hoping for a smiley face but if it’s hot today it’ll be tomorrow and my donor is due to visit tomorrow anyway. I have zero CM this month so not sure I’m actually ovulating anyway.

Why do our bodies do this?? I had my first donation in November 2018 and I’m just so ready to be pregnant already.

OP posts:
LanieM87 · 16/09/2019 10:44

@Waiting2BAMummy don't even get me started! I'm expecting ovulation today or tomorrow now, but I've not really had any CM, it's so frustrating. I can only imagine how you feel having tried for so many cycles.

I think your original plan for the next few days sounds good based on your OPKs. Aren't you better to have a donation a couple of days before ovulation anyway?

Waiting2BAMummy · 16/09/2019 11:36

I’ve read so many different things @LanieM87 but I watched a video on YouTube and it says that most sperm are dead by 24 hours after ‘trying’ which contradicts everything else I’ve read saying they can live 3-5 days. I just wish someone could say ‘try’ on these days of your cycle every month and eventually it will happen.

All this not knowing if you’re even trying at the right time is too stressful and then our bodies decide to do their own thing and really change the game.

Not sure how many more months I can carry on like this.

OP posts:
LanieM87 · 16/09/2019 12:05

Really?! I've not heard that before! @Waiting2BAMummy that's just another spanner in the works. Was the video from a reliable source?

I know! I really wish there was a standard formula and every month was like clockwork!

Don't give up though - I honestly believe you are closer now then you've ever been with this donor. It's been so handy having him close by and being able to donate several times.

Waiting2BAMummy · 16/09/2019 13:24

It’s this m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fda5rigma14 @LanieM87

My donor said he would help for 6 months which takes me to December, if I’m not pregnant by then I’m starting to think I should just accept that it’s not going to happen.

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 16/09/2019 15:40

I just did my second opk but did a clearblue and got a blank circle. I stupidly didn’t bring a cheapie with me.

I had an abundance of EWCM so I take back what I said about not having any.

Do I tell my donor I got my positive and then ask him if he’ll visit today and 2 days after my positive which means if I get my positive tomorrow I’ve still got tomorrow and the day after covered or should I just wait until tomorrow?

Sorry @LanieM87 I’m sure you’re fed up of me today.

OP posts:
LanieM87 · 16/09/2019 16:11

What colour are the two strips when you took it out of the holder? @Waiting2BAMummy
I'd been inclined to think your peak was tomorrow, so I think donation tonight, and then the days afterwards would cover you, especially if you've had EWCM. But I'm really not an expert!
I think if you say no tonight and have him over tomorrow and then the two days afterwards you'd still be in with a good chance as well!

I'm sorry I'm not much help!!!

Waiting2BAMummy · 16/09/2019 16:21

They were both blue @LanieM87 but you’re right it is usually darker when it’s positive. I need to stop panicking.

Thanks for talking me down from the rafters!! x

Haha if only it was that simple! @Waiting2BAMummy

Waiting2BAMummy · 16/09/2019 19:31

Takes us back to the need for scheduled ovulation @LanieM87!! It’s really not that much to ask for!!!!

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 17/09/2019 08:29

My wandfo opk was lighter this morning but I did have to go to the bathroom about 1am and I drank a lot last night do I don’t know if that had affected it.

Have my clearblue with me and will test this afternoon, if it’s still negative I’ll take it that my surge was yesterday.

Have you found anyone interesting on co parents @LanieM87?

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 17/09/2019 08:29

Good luck with your scan today @TimeIhadaNameChange hope bubba is more cooperative this time!
