So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

It’s worth a try @bitheby you have nothing to lose.

Last month I had my positive opk on Sunday and ovulated on Monday. This month my positive opk was Sunday but I didn’t ovulate until Tuesday so it can vary.

As I said you have absolutely nothing to lose. Good luck.

bitheby · 10/01/2021 22:54

How do you know when you've ovulated? Is it based on temps? I've never temped so don't know much about that.

Waiting2BAMummy · 10/01/2021 23:49

I’ve got an OvuSense @bitheby I didn’t think temping would work for me because I have such an erratic sleep pattern but the OvuSense is a sensor you insert like a tampon over night (you obviously can’t use it while the witch is in town). It records your core temperature every 5 minutes and then gives you an average reading on the morning.

Ladies, I have had EWCM today in abundance. Clearblue saying low fertility and dip stick has the faintest line. Would you still inseminate?

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/01/2021 17:11

How much had you had to drink before taking this? You can get EWCM for 5 days or more before you ovulate but if you only usually get it at ovulation then it’s worth a try as you may have just missed your surge. What were your OPK’s like before today?

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 16/01/2021 11:44

I try to drink 2 litres a day, the test line developed to something resembling positive after a few mins so we inseminated last night. I got my peak this morning so will do tonight and also tomorrow. That’s the strongest line I have ever had on an internet cheapie, I don’t usually use them but I had lost faith a little in clear blue after last month. This month I haven’t had one flashing smiley, just straight to solid.

Glad you went with it anyway @KLO0224 sounds like you’ve got perfect timing.

I find you have to wait a while for the IC OPK sticks up dry before you get a proper result too. They said read after 5 minutes but I think it’s more like 20. I used to use the clearblue dual hormone tests too but they’re so expensive and I started using the cheap ones along side them and found I got my positive on the stick test the night before clearblue. I’ve also read that they can detect your surge quite late, which is bad enough normally but when you’re relying on a donor timing is everything.

I had some pink when I wiped this morning so the witch is on her way. I knew I wasn’t pregnant as my temps have been dropping so I’m not surprised but I’m not due on until Monday and I know exactly when I ovulated because of my OvuSense which means unless I’m just going to spot for the next 2 days, which is possible, then my cycle, and LP is 2 days shorter this month. Maybe it’s because I’m been eating crap since Christmas, need to get back on track.

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 17/01/2021 19:56

Think il use what I have left but use them alongside some others.
Do you use pre seed or anything like that?
I have ovulated earlier than FF said but I have been watching what I eat, since my miscarriage I have lost almost 2.5 stone so don’t know if that is affecting my cycle.
Knowing the witch is coming is crap, you just want it to arrive so you can get on with your next cycle.
We are having one last donation for this cycle tonight, then back to the 2WW!
I hope your next cycle goes well, I always have my fingers crossed for you @Waiting2BAMummy 🙂

Waiting2BAMummy · 17/01/2021 21:02

I do use preseed @KLO0224 but am thinking of swapping to conceive plus this month as I’ve read some good reviews on it. If you’re planning on getting it the cheapest place I have found it is dr fertility and they could in 8 individual applications.

The witch arrived for me yesterday but not sure whether to start my soy isoflavones tonight or tomorrow. I may have to contact my donor to move our dates forward too as I will likely be ovulating before I’ve arranged to meet him.

Thank you for your positive thoughts I’m always wishing you well too. This is hard and it’s nice to have someone who ‘gets it’ to go through it with. Wishing you all the luck in the world for this cycle x

Hey, how is everyone. Just a quick question, what are your thoughts (if any) on the vaccine?
We had our consent forms distributed at work today and it had a warning to women planning a pregnancy or currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
I just wondered if anyone has any reservations given our situations?
I don’t know if I am over thinking things, it could take years to become pregnant, I don’t think I can put off having the vaccine indefinitely, especially if it opens up the possibility of things getting back to a bit of normality.

Waiting2BAMummy · 25/01/2021 19:22

Hi @KLO0224 I’m gearing up for ovulation which should be Sunday based on last 2 cycles. Not started OPK’s yet. Where are you at?

It is difficult, I believe that the guidance has been amended and they are now saying it’s safe for pregnant women and those TTC. That said, not sure if I’m going to have it.

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 25/01/2021 20:17

I am currently 8dpo, I’m struggling this time round, it’s going so slow!
Something weird happened today also, my partners little lad came home from school and randomly announced he would like a baby brother. He has no idea we are TTC and he does have some very scary predictions of things that happen. I will be very freaked out if he has predicted this 😂. He’s never mentioned babies before, being 8 it’s not something he’s really ever bothered about! So very out of the blue for him!
I’ve had stitch pain today on my left side.
I also started temping today, so I will see how that goes for next month. I downloaded the Premom app and ordered some more cheap dippy ovulation tests. So we are all prepared for next cycle.
I don’t know what to do about the vaccine, I’m a manager of 2 supported living care homes and frequently work hands on shifts, I’ve worked throughout the pandemic. But they are saying you should put a hold on trying to conceive until after your second dose, I don’t want to have to have a 3 month break!

Waiting2BAMummy · 25/01/2021 20:27

That’s scary @KLO0224 fingers crossed your partners DS is right and you won’t need the OPK’s etc for next month!

I believe the guidance has changed now and you don’t have to wait to TTC if you have the vaccine so if that’s the only thing holding you back then go for it.

KLO0224 · 31/01/2021 08:17

I have started temping and I’m not sure i know what I’m doing. I ovulated around the 16th and I am due AF any time now.
My temperature seems to be all over the place. And then it has risen, I’m guessing this is AF on her way because I always get hot around that time.
Should temperature remain at ovulation temp if pregnant. I didn’t start testing til after ovulation so no way to know what that temp was 😂. I will just keep temping each month and see if there is a pattern.

Waiting2BAMummy · 31/01/2021 11:33

Your temp should drop before AF @KLO0224. I always feel hotter when I get AF too but after tracking the last couple of months my temp drops the day before.

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 31/01/2021 12:11

Ah right, I don’t know what’s happening then 😂

Waiting2BAMummy · 31/01/2021 12:43

Have you taken a pregnancy test @KLO0224? Temp rises in early pregnancy.

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 31/01/2021 13:01

I took one at 11dpo and it was negative and probably way to early anyway. I haven’t bothered since. Il just wait for AF, if I don’t come on by next weekend il do a test.

KLO0224 · 31/01/2021 13:05

I’ve been symptom spotting like mad too, I convinced myself this was my month, I’ve had really sore/sensitive boobs, mood swings, tearful, stomach cramps, and a feeling of been stabbed with a pin in my belly button. I’ve done my own head in!

Waiting2BAMummy · 31/01/2021 13:29

Bless you @KLO0224 I hear you on that. Fingers crossed you make it to next weekend without the witch.

I’m CD16 today and based on the last two months I believed I would ovulate today. I didn’t start testing with OPK’s until CD12 as the last 2 months I’ve gotten my positive on CD14 so thought testing earlier was a waste. I didn’t get dark OPK’s on 13 or 14 and had pains on 13 that had gone by 14 so I think I ovulated on CD13. I’m not going to be able to tell when it happened by my temps as my Diet has been crap and that always makes my temp spike. I did meet my donor on Friday night but think that was too late. So I wasted this month and he might be away next month so unless I find someone new I might now be able to try next month either.

KLO0224 · 31/01/2021 13:51

Oh god it’s just so heart wrenching this whole process! Why is it so hard! It makes my blood boil when you see young teenage mums who never wanted the child and are dragging them up. We so desperately want a baby to give it everything it will ever need and we can’t! It just all seems so unfair!

Waiting2BAMummy · 31/01/2021 14:52

Absolutely agree @KLO0224 I’m starting to lose hope that it will ever happen. I’ve been trying since November 2018 and I probably haven’t helped myself with the situation as I have absolutely everything a pram, car seat, bedside crib and full nursery set. I didn’t want my baby to have less of anything because I was doing this on my own so I started buying the big expensive items so that I could save during my pregnancy to support us while I was on maternity leave. I’m now surrounded by a mini baby store that I can’t use.

Hope you get your longed for BFP soon.

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 31/01/2021 15:00

@Waiting2BAMummy when we got pregnant last time we put a deposit on the pram but that’s as far as we got. I couldn’t cope with anything else. After last time I won’t buy until at least 20 weeks. I’ve saved money to support us whilst on maternity leave and have enough saved to buy what we need.

Waiting2BAMummy · 31/01/2021 15:15

I wish I had done that now @KLO0224 but I didn’t expect to still be in this situation so started buying things as I saw them when they were on offer. I had a chemical pregnancy in March last year and it was heartbreaking but afterwards I tried to take comfort in the fact that I managed to conceive in the first place. Now, a year on and still nothing I’m not convinced it’s ever going to happen. I often think maybe I should just sell this stuff but I’m not ready to give up on my dream.

It’s hard reading threads from women who got pregnant the first month of trying with their first and now they’ve been trying for their second for 3 months and they’re losing their mind because it hasn’t happened yet. I know they’re entitled to their feelings and everyone has their own journey but after more than 2 years it’s hard to feel sorry for them.

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 31/01/2021 16:34

I understand and agree, I also took comfort in the fact I did fall pregnant, and I was one of the lucky ones, it worked the second month of trying. We have only been trying since June last year. I said we would give it a year of this way, if it doesn’t work then we will go to a clinic. I won’t give up on my dream. It’s just hard each month when AF turns up and you feel empty!
