So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

Yes @CoronaVera never had a positive before. It’s my own fault for breaking my own rule and testing early.

@Waiting2BAMummy oh no. I'm hoping for you that it isn't xxx

CoronaVera · 31/03/2020 06:56

I've never had a positive test either so I don't know what you can do. Pretending that we don't live in current lockdown times, would an appointment with your GP for some investigations be a good idea do you think?

I'm not sure how many cycles you've managed to meet your donor in the time you've been trying but you've given it a good go and perhaps you might need your thyroid levels checked or just a general MOT to check there is nothing going on which could affect implantation?

How are you feeling? Stupid question I know.

VNAWENN · 31/03/2020 07:19

12-13 DPO today. BFN on a FRER this morning and AF due tomorrow so not looking great, but I'm taking the attitude that it's not over until AF rears her ugly head.

@Waiting2BAMummy keeping you in my thoughts today x

LanieM87 · 31/03/2020 07:40

Ohh @Waiting2BAMummy I'm so incredibly sorry. Life can be so cruel. I know nothing will make you feel any better, so just know I am thinking of you.

Waiting2BAMummy · 31/03/2020 11:45

Thanks ladies, took another cheap test this morning and their is a line but it’s barely visible so just waiting for the inevitable bleeding to start.

Don’t really know what my next move is, I had told my donor so I guess once the bleeding actually starts I’ll have to let him know. Maybe he’ll take pity on me and offer to help again once the craziness calms down? I had been looking at clinics in Denmark although now I know I can at least get pregnant, honestly don’t think I’ve even managed a chemical before then maybe I should just find another local donor.

Trying to have practical thoughts about where I go from here instead of drowning in the deep sense of sadness I feel at the injustice of all this.

Thanks again for your thoughts ladies you guys are super special x

In your shoes I would contact the GP. They don’t need to know it’s a donor if you don’t want to tell them. Just say it’s been X months trying.

Someone I know has just had a CAMHS referral made. Normal work is still going on. It’s not a bad idea to get referrals in now as then you’ll be higher up the list when appointments start again.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 01/04/2020 15:45

I'm so sorry, @Waiting2BAMummy. I was rally excited for you. I'll have to keep a closer eye on here as I really hope things turn out for you.

We're fine. Can't believe Chiara is a month old tomorrow. Where has the time gone?

She's still not back to her birth weight which is concerning the hv but not the midwives. She is putting on weight, just very slowly. But she's healthy, strong and alert so seems healthy enough. Doesn't like being put down though, which means doing anything is nigh on impossible. Have persuaded himself to stay indoors for a day or two so I can get some decent, regular pumping sessions in (low milk supply) and maybe write thank you cards. A shower would be good too! Grin

Anyway, good luck all of you. I've got my fingers crossed for you. x

VNAWENN · 01/04/2020 16:36

Well AF reared her ugly head! Til next time I guess. How's everyone else doing?

Waiting2BAMummy · 01/04/2020 19:36

Thank you @TimeIhadaNameChange the bleeding has started this morning so it’s definitely over.

Glad you and Chiara are doing well, that’s crazy that she’s almost a month old where has the time gone?

Enjoy your shower!

Sorry to hear AF arrived @VNAWENN. Fingers crossed this all blows over soon so you can try again.

I might've had a positive.

I'm not getting excited yet. Far too many variables and on one test I don't have enough evidence. I'll do another FRER tomorrow and see.

Ordered some digitals. By the time they arrive if this is a positive and, big if, if it progresses, then I should be in the window to use them.

No congrats yet. This isn't real until I have more definite proof.

Waiting2BAMummy · 03/04/2020 09:37

Fingers crossed for you @CoronaVera

Congratulations @bitheby hope everything goes well for you.

ToCaden · 05/04/2020 18:04

Hello guys. New on this thread. Been trying with a donor for a while without success. How have people been coping with the lockdown? Have you had to put things on hold? Or have you found ways to keep trying?

bitheby · 05/04/2020 23:21

Hi @ToCaden

I managed to meet my donor the Friday before lockdown was announced on the Monday.

As it stands at the moment, I am pregnant. Very early days.

If I need to meet him again and we are still on lockdown then I don't think I will be able to. Even if we were prepared to break the rules, which would be irresponsible, then I couldn't get there at the moment. It's too far away and I'd definitely get stopped by the police.

My fallback plan was going to be investigating whether any banks would ship frozen.

KLO0224 · 07/04/2020 08:48

Hi @ToCaden, we were due to do our first insemination with our donor 2 weeks ago, unfortunately we have had to put this on hold, we feel it's for the best though, better to be safe than sorry. He will be there for us when the lock down ends.

Goingtobeoldearly · 08/04/2020 13:16

Hi, hoping you don't mind a newbie joining, just looking for tips and how to do with a syringe. I have a donor sorted, so it will be fresh sperm. Hoping to start in June time. Thank you

bitheby · 11/04/2020 16:27

Having an early miscarriage so I didn't get my fairy tale either Sad

Waiting2BAMummy · 11/04/2020 17:01

Hi All,
I am waiting for egg donation with LWC and have been told to wait at least till July and then there maybe a queue. Do you have the same experience? It’s a very lonely time at the moment.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 15/04/2020 15:47

So sorry, @bitheby xxx

ohsotrying · 02/05/2020 22:18

So sorry Bitherby

Hope everyone is doing okay otherwise I'm the uncertain and stressful time.
TTC is getting me down, I've found the most lovely donor, lives a two hour journey. I just so want to try but obviously can't at the moment. Hoping when lockdown starts to lift I can go down as I would never go within 2 metres of teh donor

AlltheLemurs · 03/05/2020 19:01

Hello I hope it is ok for me to join. I was pointed to this section of the site from another thread. I am nowhere near TTC but I am looking into donor conception.

I am a single mum to a nearly 2 year old and I would like to have another child on my own and am looking at options. I have seen people have found known donors on websites and I am interested in that as an opt but really just wanting to find out more. It is good to know that there are so many other people doing this and some of you have babies.
