So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

I’ll get them over to you later @LanieM87. I think I’ll struggle to reduce the list so please be honest about any you don’t like!

I’ve been awake since about 2.30am pregnancy officially confirmed with a clearblue digital at 5am!! Yes, will be a December baby which I kind of wasn’t keen on but I’m just happy to be pregnant and he/ she will be the best Christmas present ever!!

Hello,

Have read through the threads and hope you don’t mind me hopping in for advice.

Have joined a site to find a donor after thinking about it for ages and now I’m stuck, how much chatting did people do with potential donors? What do I ask them? I feel really awkward.

Congratulations Waiting2BAMummy.

VNAWENN · 27/03/2020 19:38

@Waiting2BAMummy OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I am so happy for you! I bet your over the moon. Congratulations xxxx

Waiting2BAMummy · 27/03/2020 20:11

Welcome @IndecisiveDay I met my current donor before the first official meet which made it a little less awkward on the day.

I asked things like have you done this before? How many attempts did it take to be successful (this can give you some idea if they are in it for the long haul or will get bored of it doesn’t work on the first or second attempt). Have they had Sri checks?

Thanks @VNAWENN I’m still in complete shock. I took a clearblue digital this morning and it said pregnant 1-2 I keep looking at it expecting g it to have changed!

Good luck to you both. I’ve been where you are and feeling like it’s never going to happen. After 17 long months I’m here to prove it can and it will. Good luck ladies xx

Thank you, hearing about your donor has made me think this might be possible.

Did you talk much online first? The first person who messaged me has been there done that (but not with to many) reasons seem sound. I’m thinking what’s the catch but maybe I’m just cynical.

Waiting2BAMummy · 27/03/2020 21:22

We had messaged back and forth for about a week @IndecisiveDay then we arranged to meet at Costa about a week before my first insemination.

I promise there really are some genuine guys out there that really do just want to help. My donor is a Cambridge grad so my baby is going to be super smart and will probably be more intelligent than me by the age of 3!! lol Hmm

VNAWENN · 27/03/2020 22:50

@Waiting2BAMummy I'd be framing that digital on the wall 🤣🤣🤣 ooooo I can't wait to see pictures xxx

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/03/2020 09:15

Haha @VNAWENN unfortunately it disappears after 24 hours so it’s just blank now - good job I took photos lol

How are you feeling? When is AF due? x

OP posts:
VNAWENN · 28/03/2020 09:19

@Waiting2BAMummy AF is due in 4 days 😩 I'm hoping she won't come. I've had some symptoms but I'm trying not to over think it. Probably going to test on Monday at 12 DPO.

How are you feeling today? Xxx

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/03/2020 09:49

Good luck @VNAWENN fingers crossed for you xx

I’m okay I have a sore throat that I’ve had for several days now. Had a few cramps and the acid feeling you get around the back of your throat after you’ve vomited but that seems to come and go (sorry that was probably TMI). It’s funny I feel like I’ve actually had more symptoms other months. I’m sure it will all hit me soon though! Thank god we’re all working from home at the moment! I don’t think we’ll be back in the office until end June/ beginning a July at the earliest and I’ll be around 18 weeks by then so hiding the morning sickness in the first trimester will be easy!

bitheby · 28/03/2020 10:12

Oh my gosh!!!! I haven't been on for a few days. Congratulations!!! Fingers crossed for all smooth sailing for the next 9 months.

My donor is also a Cambridge grad as am I. There are quite a few of us about so I doubt it's the same guy. The first donor isn't but his wife is. We get everywhere!

Seriously I am so super pleased for you.

VNAWENN · 28/03/2020 10:43

@Waiting2BAMummy thanks 😊

At least you don't have to vomit at work 👍🏼🤣

IndecisiveDay · 28/03/2020 10:53

It is like the timing is meant to be for you after all this time, avoiding awkward conversations at work would be high on my list.

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/03/2020 11:03

Thank you @bitheby it still feels surreal.

Haha you certainly do get around you very clever people!

How are you feeling? Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 28/03/2020 11:03

👍👍 to not vomiting at work

OP posts:
bitheby · 28/03/2020 11:11

To be honest I'm really glad you mentioned it. Intelligence is probably my most prized possession and I've been feeling a bit of a snob about it but that's why I'm going down this route and not using the sperm bank at the clinic. This is 50% of the DNA of my (hopefully one day to exist) future child. I want to check out the credentials of the donor and see how they think and what they're about as a person. You don't get that from the crappy spreadsheet my clinic provides:

Hair colour
Eye colour
Height
Occupation

That's it.

bitheby · 28/03/2020 11:13

Oh maybe they also include a column on build.

So how am I?

Tired.

Hoping that this could be my month too but I'm only 7DPO today probably (was too busy for OPKs this cycle) and it probably won't be. But it's a chance isn't it and while there's a chance there's still hope.

I think you might have had the fairytale story for this thread though. Let's hope the storks will allow us a few fairytales.

bitheby · 28/03/2020 14:07

How's about this for clutching at straws symptom spotting? I have a small cold sore type thing. I didn't think I even got them but very occasionally I have a small pimple in the corner of my mouth and it never gets bigger. And seriously once every several years or so. Really few and far between.

It never weeps or looks angry so I've assumed that's not what it is.

I've now got the biggest one of those I've ever had. Appeared this morning.

So I'm trying to persuade myself that this is because implantation is happening and suppressing my immune system and this appears.

Nothing at all to do with all the mad stress from work. Oh no.

I thought this TWW would sail by without me thinking about it but it really isn't.

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/03/2020 18:30

Well after 17 months of trying I don’t think my story has been a fairytale but hopefully this is where it begins!

In terms of intelligence I wouldn’t consider myself unintelligent but I’m no Cambridge grad either!

At the risk of heightening your hopes and encouraging symptom spotting I started developing a cold sore last Sunday and by Monday it was all weepy and really sore so..... @bitheby

OP posts:
Bitheby · 28/03/2020 19:37

Oh gosh. I wasn’t meaning to imply that it’s been easy. But just in terms of the poetic nature of it all. Global pandemic. Against all odds. Last chance. Christmas baby. It’s got all the components of a film script!

We’ll see. My old donor was sperm bank quality but in his 50s whereas new guy was rejected by sperm bank due to one slightly below average reading but is younger and has had recent success. So let’s hope that he and I genetically match better than the first guy.

Waiting2BAMummy · 28/03/2020 19:45

You have a point there @bitheby and it’s strange because I didn’t use OPK’s this month either as I didn’t want to be putting all that pressure on the situation and I honestly didn’t think it was going to work. Being able to be at home for my first trimester is just so lucky too so I do hear what you’re saying it’s just like it was just meant to be.

Keeping everything crossed for you, you’ve pretty much been around since the beginning of my journey and it would be lovely to go through pregnancy with you too. Sending you so much baby first.

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 30/03/2020 08:32

Morning ladies, I think the fairytale is over. I took another FRER this morning expecting to see a much darker line but if anything silt was more faint. So I took another clearblue digital and it said not pregnant. When I wiped I had brown blood.

Hope you’re all doing okay....

OP posts:
CoronaVera · 30/03/2020 09:44

Oh no :(

Have you been having investigations done? Can you ring the GP and see what they think.

Waiting2BAMummy · 30/03/2020 09:47

No @CoronaVera, haven’t had any investigations done. I’m sure I’m having a chemical pregnancy just taken another cheap test and not even a hint of a line. Just got to wait for the bleeding to start I guess....

OP posts:
CoronaVera · 30/03/2020 09:59

Has this been the first time you’ve had a positive test? I’m so gutted for you.
