TTC with a donor

I think we all here you on that @ohsotrying. Of course Coronavirus is just awful and it has become increasingly obvious that these measures are required because people just don’t listen.

I did try this month but honestly I’ll eat my own hat if I actually get a BFP this month so I definitely feel your disappointment, upset etc about not being able to try for months and who even knows when that will be.

You’re entitled to your feelings no matter what the reason for this situation x

I’m 43. If this month doesn’t work and we’re restricted for months then I’m worried I will never become a mother.

Do you think fertility clinics will be allowed to operate?

@bitheby I'm not sure about the clinics as mine has said they won't be starting any new cycles for the next 3 months. Private or NHS, but I would talk to your local clinic to see.

I hoped it might fall under medical exemption. Obviously so much else that is happening in the world is far more important but this has been my dream for over 20 years and a series of unfortunate events have led me to being childless and single at 43.

I'm not going to give up on it because I just can't.

I will do all it takes but meeting the donor now is going to be pretty impossible unless this lockdown manages to get a handle on spread. It would be incredibly selfish of me to put anyone at risk so I can have a baby. That's why I figured a clinic would have appropriate infection control measures in place.

I would imagine the clinics will close @bitheby as I cannot imagine them being classified as an essential service.

I was planning to go to Denmark in June/July as after 18 months of trying this clearly isn’t working for me but who knows when that will be now?

I truly believe this is just the start and the restrictions will get tougher as people will continue to flout the rules.

Fingers crossed for you this month.

Thank you @ohsotrying I’ve been trying since November 2018 so it’s been a very long road and yes I am absolutely shocked.

I'm all good thanks!! I had my 20 week scan this week, baby all healthy and growing as it should, found out that I'm expecting a little girl! 😊

Aww congratulations @LanieM87 Did you have a preference either way? I know people say you shouldn’t and honestly I’ll be happy either way, as long as they’re healthy but I would like a girl. Whenever I look at baby clothes girls clothes are so much nicer and I have so many girls names and very few boys. Though it’s still very early to even be considering those things!

@Waiting2BAMummy I really didn't have a preference! I didn't spend a lot of time thinking about it be honest as I didn't want to feel disappointed! Though I must admit I do think girl clothes are cuter! I've had a lot of fun online shopping this week!

I can imagine the fun you’ve had this week. I’ve been stocking up for a while with general stuff (I had every intention of making this happen). I look at the stuff now and can’t quite believe in 9 months I’m actually going to be using it and no longer as a dust collector!!
