So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

I've been on Just a Baby multiple times a day since the other guy said he couldn't help this month. I've had a few messages but mostly from men saying they only want sex. I have one random man keep trying to persuade me to call him to 'chat'.

I started chatting to a guy on Facebook but then googled him and found that he'd been in prison so I discounted him. Might be a lovely guy but if that's all I can find out about him it would be all my child could too.

Next month I'll be away at a conference for three days so I'm going to have to hope the donor can meet me before I go.

Then I think go back to the clinic for April. Maybe with a sperm bank because I don't like the way they do their sperm donations with virtually no information on the donor.

Waiting2BAMummy · 26/02/2020 23:07

At least you have a rough plan @bitheby and maybe the clinic would be more successful as they can monitor your cycle and inseminate at the right time taking all of the guesswork out of it for you.

When AF inevitably arrives for me next week I think I’m going to take a couple of months off to give my body a break after 3 months of soy iso’s and then looks to using a clinic. I’m looking at the one in Copenhagen that a few other ladies have used. Might go out there for a week around when I’m due to ovulate and have scans to monitor the follicle and then a trigger shot so there can be no doubt in timing. Two ladies in another thread have both just used this clinic and are both pregnant on their second try.

So sorry to hear this, @Waiting2BAMummy.

Makes me really reluctant to post this, but maybe it gives help. I have birth to my wee lassie at 05:56 this morning. 8lb 3. No name as of yet.

Oh beautiful babe!!

I believe I will be ovulating soon so making first arrangements with donor. It's far in London. I'm so worried! Any tips for fist time meet? I would love it to woke first time but hve a feeling it won't. Are AI and NI rates the same and what's bests way of doing AI thanks ladies !!!

Waiting2BAMummy · 07/03/2020 15:29

Try to stay calm @ohsotrying the stress won’t help. I have tried many methods but the most simple seems to be to get the donor to make his donation into a pot with a lid and then use a syringe. You need to draw the sample up as slow as possible and keep the tip in the sample at all times to minimise air bubbles. Good luck.

I am unexpectedly able to try again this month. My donor was moving up north and had said last month was the last time he could help. I text him yesterday to let him know I wasn’t successful and just asked how things were going with his move. He’s not going now and has said he can do one last month. I was going to take a couple of months off and I haven’t taken the soy isoflavones this month (though the months I have taken them AF has been really light so I think they were making my lining too thin) but I have nothing to lose so I’m back in the game!

Congratulations @TimeIhadaNameChange it's lovely to see a success story, I hope she is settling in nice!
So after a long wait this is our first month trying! I'm so excited and nervous. I've been trying to maximise chances, taking vitC, my partner has said it helps your body to absorb any goodness from foods. And evening primrose oil from CD1 to ovulation.
I know it's highly unlikely to work the first time but I've been waiting for this for so long, I'm just excited to start. We have given ourselves a year to try it this way before approaching a clinic.
I've told myself I will not be symptom hunting, I haven't even bought pregnancy tests (that will probably change!) My plan was to just wait for AF to arrive each month instead.
@Waiting2BAMummy this has to be your month, especially with the massive change of plans... Everything happens for a reason! Everything crossed for you!

Waiting2BAMummy · 09/03/2020 21:11

Thank you @KLO0224.

Good luck for your first month and super good luck with not symptom spotting!! I promised myself I wasn’t going to but I do every month!! That said I soon got fed up of seeing the stark white pregnancy tests every month so I don’t test anymore. It’s somehow easier for AF to arrive than to see that negative test.

When are you due to ovulate? Based on the last couple of months I should get my positive opk on Sunday.

OP posts:
KLO0224 · 11/03/2020 06:53

@Waiting2BAMummy I'm due to ovulate around the 27th, AF is due in the next few days and I'm just willing it to come now so I can get cracking lol!
We have a sterile pot and a syringe, is there anything else you would recommend?
We may have to travel and book into a hotel depending on his work pattern around ovulation, it would only be an hour away so not an issue really.
Not too long to wait for you then ovulation is just around the corner!

Waiting2BAMummy · 11/03/2020 20:21

Bless you @KLO0224 I’m afraid there is SO much waiting involved in TTC. You’re now waiting for AF then you’ll be waiting for ovulation then there’s the TWW and once you get your BFP there’s the 9 month wait to meet your tiny human. They say having kids is a real lesson in patience I think even getting to the point of bringing one into the world is it’s very own test.

Lots of women use preseed it’s a fertility lubricant and you need to put it in at least 10 minutes before insemination in order for it to reach body temperature and not harm the swimmers.
I had to use a hotel with a previous donor in some respects it’s easier than having them to to your home although that is obviously a lot more convenient.

Wishing you every luck for your first month exciting times x

ohsotrying · 12/03/2020 19:56

So annoyed I've got to go into hospital for a week due suddenly so think I'm gonna have to skip this month, I know it may not have happened but gutted i won't even get to try 4 weeks is so long !

Waiting2BAMummy · 12/03/2020 20:48

Sorry to hear that @ohsotrying, people will probably tell you it’s only a month but when you’re so desperate to be pregnant a month feels like forever.

Hope you’re okay x

bitheby · 15/03/2020 19:25

Congratulations!!

Ok so I haven't posted for a while. It's been a rollercoaster.

My donor couldn't make last month. I messaged to arrange to meet him next week and he thinks he has Covid-19!

So I thought I was out completely and then someone from the app where I found him messaged me out of the blue yesterday and we've been chatting and possibly we'll meet instead.

Work is crazy due to virus planning. I have no idea whether I will ever have a family but I'm still trying.

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/03/2020 20:00

Your previous donor sounds really flaky @bitheby. It sounds to me like he is just making excuses. Hopefully you will have more look with the new one, they say things happen for a reason and he’s contacted you at just the right time.

How are you and your little lady doing @TimeIhadaNameChange?

How are you getting on @LanieM87? How many weeks are you now?

My donor visited on Friday night and will again tonight. I’m CD 14 today and have been having EWCM since Thursday. I didn’t use the soy isoflavones this month mainly because I wasn’t expecting to be able to try but my donor offered to help again as his moving plans fell through but by that time it was too late to start taking them. I’m taking a really laid back approach this month no soy isoflavones and I’m not using OPK’s. That might be a mistake but they say women get pregnant when they stop trying and for the last 2 months I have gotten my positive on CD 13/14 so thought I’d just work with that and see what happens.

OP posts:
CoronaVera · 15/03/2020 20:17

I don’t think it’s flaky to have potentially contracted a disease that’s sweeping the globe!! Poor bloke.

I prefer the first one but this one meets my exacting standards too so we’ll see. This month will be a bonus if it happens.

Bitheby · 15/03/2020 20:17

Name change fail.

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/03/2020 20:39

I just think it sounds like an excuse @bitheby, it’s not the first time he’s let you down either. Of course if he has got it then he has my upmost sympathy but I think it’s an easy cop out.

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 15/03/2020 20:47

Maybe I’m just cynical!

OP posts:
Bitheby · 15/03/2020 21:28

I have no reason to disbelieve him. I think you are being incredibly cynical. You don’t know him.

We’ll all have it soon anyway.

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/03/2020 21:46

I’ll mind my own business in future @bitheby!

Hi, what are people's thoughts on TTC while the world has gone mad? Are you all still planning to continue on your journey?

VNAWENN · 18/03/2020 09:08

Hi all, sorry I've been MIA. I hope everyone is doing well. My father in law has been very poorly so we had to hold off for a little while 😢

He's much better now so today we go for our second IUI with DI.

Keeping my 🤞🏼 this one hangs around xxxx

Waiting2BAMummy · 18/03/2020 22:54

I have still tried this month @KLO0224 time is not on my side so I don’t have the time to waste. Besides the way I see it (hope) is that if I’m successful by the time I give birth everything will be back to normal. Since everyone is being encouraged to work from home right now I’d be pretty much isolated for the first trimester anyway - much easier to hide the morning sickness too!

Good luck @VNAWENN glad your father in law is on the mend.
