So it appears I posted the 1,000 message on our previous thread and now it's closed so I've opened us a new home!

If you ovulate on Sunday then tomorrow is perfect timing @CleverQuacks, it can take up to 12 hours for the little swimmers to get where they need to be so if you wait until the day of ovulation it could be too late. Day before is perfect timing.

Progesterone cream is a topical cream for increasing progesterone levels. I am inclined to believe that my levels are low so have started using the cream this month after ovulation to try and increase my chances.

I knew someone had mentioned soy isoflavones had to read posts all the way back to page 6 @GreatestShowUnicorn lol

Anyway, I know I said it can mess up to your cycles if they are regular but I found this:

community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a12154345/bfps_with_soy_isoflavones.

I also read that FF did a survey and 77% of women conceived in their first month of using them. That's some great odds and on that thread a women who had been TTC for 5+years got her BFP on first cycle with soy isoflavones.

I'm definitely trying them next cycle - thinking about the messing up your cycle thing if it doesn't work next month I will use them again in february so they will still encourage ovulation around the same time and once I get my BFP I don't really care from happens to my cycles once bubba is here as I'm probably too old to have anymore anyway.

It was kind of funny reading back through your posts saying you were out @LanieM87 knowing you got your BFP! How are you feeling?

I have got EWCM today so definitely looks like I am ovulating. My donor is here later.

What is the earliest you can pregnancy test? Can anyone recommend the best pregnancy tests? I know the next couple of weeks are going to go so slowly!

LanieM87 · 14/12/2019 15:29

I'm not too bad thanks @Waiting2BAMummy how are you? When is AF due? Haha I know! It's very odd - I was massively convinced AF had arrived!

Good luck @CleverQuacks !! Fingers crossed for you! I got a very very faint line at 13dpo on an IC and then a stronger positive at 14dpo with a FRER. I had tested a couple days earlier and there was nothing. So I know it's hard but just try to wait as long as you can!

CleverQuacks · 14/12/2019 15:34

What does dpo mean?

LanieM87 · 14/12/2019 16:24

Days past ovulation @CleverQuacks

Waiting2BAMummy · 14/12/2019 16:28

I’m okay @LanieM87 I’m 11dpo today so AF is due between tomorrow and Wednesday. Had a dull ache in my abdomen on Thursday which would be right on time for AF to start tomorrow based on last month. I’ve had lower back ache since Thursday which I don’t normally but I am putting that down to the progesterone cream. I had tiny amount of stringy blood tinged CM yesterday but I think I might have scratched myself trying to check my cervix/CM I can’t actually reach my cervix though so there was no checking going on. I don’t know if AF will arrive while I’m still using the cream though so going to test on Tuesday (14dpo) and when it’s negative I will stop using the cream to allow af to arrive. Have decided I’m going to use soy isoflavones next month.

Glad everything is going well for you.

Sounds like you have perfect timing @CleverQuacks I really would try not to test before AF is due/late the chances are you could get a negative but still be pregnant. I think it’s a waste of money, that said when I first started TTC I was testing at 10dpo but that novelty soon wore off getting BFN’s every month!

CleverQuacks · 14/12/2019 16:37

Yes I will have to try and be patient and wait til period is due. I am meant to be going for a spa day on Christmas Eve. Obviously won’t know at that point if I am pregnant or not. I will have to avoid the bits which are not suitable in pregnancy just in case.

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/12/2019 14:38

Well the witch is definitely on her way had pink cm this morning and just had a red streak when I wipe. Going to wait until she fully arrives before stopping the cream (just in case) but really think I’m out. Definitely trying the iso flavones next month just not sure which days to use them. Most people, from what I’ve read, seem to go with 2-6 or 3-7 but, if anything, I need to try and push ovulation back a little and the earlier days tend to bring it forward meaning it’ll be right around Christmas (does Santa not know I’m TTC here?!) so I might have to go with 5-9 this month and go earlier next month.

As for the progesterone cream, I’m not sure the one I have been using is much good (it was recommended by someone who used it after several mc’s once she had her BFP) as AF is not supposed to arrive while you’re using it and I was going to use it for an extra couple of days to push next months cycle back a little. Think I will have to invest in the cream I was going to get that I know has been used successfully by women TTC.

Should I just try the iso flavones next month and not use the cream after ovulation or do both?

OP posts:
CleverQuacks · 15/12/2019 15:07

Sorry to hear that Waiting2BAMummy. Hopefully next month will be your month. I don’t know anything about the cream or iso flavones so can’t offer much advice. I am just entering my two week wait. I know it’s going to go so slowly!

Waiting2BAMummy · 15/12/2019 15:19

Good luck @CleverQuacks how did your second donation go?

OP posts:
CleverQuacks · 15/12/2019 17:53

It was actually fine. The guy was lovely and reassured me. We both had a laugh about how awkward it was and then he got on with the job. Does anyone have any idea how long sperm can live outside of the body? I tried to get it inside me as quick as possible but there was obviously time between it exiting his body and entering mine lol

Waiting2BAMummy · 18/12/2019 19:27

I believe they can live up to an hour @CleverQuacks, providing the sample is kept warm and not exposed to the air.

I had my donor making his donation into a soft cup which then sat on the side until he had left and I was able to get to it, so maybe about 5 minutes but I’m not sure that was a good plan so I now use a specimen pot with a lid and a syringe for the insemination.

OP posts:
CleverQuacks · 18/12/2019 20:08

Yes I used a pot and syringe. Fingers crossed we did it quick enough. I am only 3 days into my two week wait and I can’t stop thinking about if I am pregnant.

How are you @Waiting2BAMummy?

Waiting2BAMummy · 18/12/2019 20:47

The TWW turns even the most sane and level headed of women into a complete neurotic mess @CleverQuacks!

I’m okay thank you, just trying to decide when I should text my donor to arrange his visit next Friday might wait until the weekend. Are you all set for Christmas?

OP posts:
CleverQuacks · 22/12/2019 17:34

Hi all.
Is everyone ready for Christmas? I have done everything so hoping to relax now.

I am also a week into the 2 week wait. Feel like I am going slowly insane. I am so tempted to test but know it would just be negative and I would be no better off. I really hope I am pregnant because I can’t do this waiting every month!

Waiting2BAMummy · 22/12/2019 22:01

Glad you’re all ready @CleverQuacks. The TWW is hard but I think the first months are the hardest as you start noticing symptoms you think you’ve never had before but as the months go on you learn that actually that’s normal for you and you just never noticed because you weren’t paying attention to every little twinge back then. Hopefully though you’ll get your BFP this month and you won’t need to go through the dreaded TWW again!

OP posts:
GreatestShowUnicorn · 23/12/2019 23:42

@Waiting2BAMummy why do you need to push ovulation back? Soya isoflavones can help make luteal phase longer by bringing ovulation forward, make ovulation stronger or make you release more eggs which is it your after?

GreatestShowUnicorn · 23/12/2019 23:43

I'm hopefully back in TWW from tonight donor currently in my bathroom and taking a very long time!!

GreatestShowUnicorn · 23/12/2019 23:46

How many mls do people usually find they get?

Waiting2BAMummy · 24/12/2019 07:09

I read that it depends what days you take them as to whether it moves forward or back @GreatestShowUnicorn. I’m taking them days 5-9 which should (hopefully) push it back because last month I ovulated early and this would mean I would have needed my donor to visit on Christmas Day or Boxing Day and as kind as he is I don’t think that was on his to do list!

Good luck this month, fingers crossed we get beautiful January BFP’s - what an amazing start to the year!

I never get very much at all but that tiny sample contain millions of sperm and you only need one!

OP posts:
Waiting2BAMummy · 24/12/2019 07:14

I read this @GreatestShowUnicorn

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

I’m hoping it will improve egg quality too as I’m not getting any younger!! I read a whole thread of women who got pregnant on their first/second (mainly first) month taking iso flavones and lots of them had been trying well over a year before. My first month of trying was November 2017 and at this point I’ll try anything.

OP posts:
GreatestShowUnicorn · 24/12/2019 13:18

@Waiting2BAMummy think most people take it to bring ovulation forward so I'd missed the days 5-9 bit! I completely forgot to take them this month! I didn't even get 1ml last night. Don't think I've ever had that little had to add preseed to it to have enough to pull up.

Waiting2BAMummy · 24/12/2019 15:27

Have you used that donor before @GreatestShowUnicorn? Hopefully you won’t need the iso flavones.

Good luck!

If it doesn’t work this month I’m going to take them days 3-7 next month as that’s what most people I’ve read that it worked for seem to do.

OP posts:
CleverQuacks · 25/12/2019 20:58

Happy Christmas everyone! Hope you have all had a lovely day.
