Ooh I can see the line too ttc - fingers and toes crossed!!! Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's frer

closephine85 · 16/06/2018 06:26

Ooh that looks pretty promising ttc! I’ve done plenty of first responses in my time and only had lines like that when there has actually been HCG in my system! I’ve only ever had false ones when I’ve cracked open the test (which you’re not supposed to do Blush). Good luck for tomorrow!

Sally the scratch is where they inset a catheter through your cervix and ‘scratch’ the lining of the womb. It’s done the cycle before treatment (usually IVF but apparently it’s recently started being done before IUI too which is what I’m having) and I think the science behind it is that the womb repairing itself from the injury somehow makes it more receptive to implantation. I don’t think they really know fully how or why it works but that there are studies suggesting it could double the chances of women who have had repeated implantation failure (I’ve had 2 failed IVFs with DH’s own sperm). It cost us £200 which in the scheme of what we’ve spent to date is nothing really if it might help.

Ooo ttc that is a definite line, hope it looks darker tomorrow 😀

Ttc2017 · 16/06/2018 07:49

Thanks guys it looks better in real life had a real squinter shadow one on Internet cheapy which reassured me a little going to try to wait till Monday to test again to give hcg a chance to increase x

TinyPaws · 16/06/2018 12:24

Got my next scan tomorrow to check everything is thickening up and doing what it's supposed to. Need to ask for an update on the donor as well as they estimated egg retrieval this week but then we got out of sync

Not looking forward to 60 miles in rush hour traffic though Hmm

I was last on here about 6 months ago. Currently 28 weeks after I had medicated iui with donor in December.

@SallyA1 My parents initially had a really bad reaction to finding out I was pregnant with a donor which was devastating to me but now they are really excited. I realised that it wasn't that they weren't being supportive but that they were worried what their friends would think about me using a donor. Every time I told someone about the pregnancy they would ask about their reaction. Eventually they told their friends and had the same positive reactions I had. Since then they have been totally on board. You may find that your sibling comes round to the idea eventually like my parents.

Additionally, I'm a teacher too. I've realised that I can't afford to go back part time but if you look around there are nurseries who do term time fees. The one I've chosen charges more per day if you choose term time only but it works out cheaper per year than full time.

Congratulations @Ttc2017 looks like a definite bfp to me.

Good luck to everyone currently going through cycles.

Bear1980 · 18/06/2018 06:08

Good luck button, hope all looks good today

Ttc2017 · 18/06/2018 06:53

Good luck button! Not so sure it's good news for me two tests this morning different brands but super super faint positive. Surely should be getting dark by now going to ring my clinic and see if they will do a beta as they don't normally do one x

closephine85 · 18/06/2018 07:02

Ttc if they weren’t first response and the others were then I don’t think you can really compare the lines? Fingers crossed it’s still good news for you and that you can get a beta today.

Ttc2017 · 18/06/2018 08:16

Thanks chloesphine really hope you're right throught I would relax after a positive but I'm just as on edge as ever! Just hope clinic will do a beta and maybe fit me in today do u get results same day? I will have to pay but be worth it x

closephine85 · 18/06/2018 09:25

You should get the results within a few hours, but then you need another 48 hours later which is the important one as the HCG needs to double every 48 hours. Good luck!

ButtonMooooon · 18/06/2018 09:42

Urgh not thick enough. 6mm and I need to be at least 8mm Hmm

pickle162 · 18/06/2018 11:11

Eeeek ttc that looks a lovely line :) I think tend to get bets results the next day

Sally she's fine now thanks, next ones 23rd July

pickle162 · 18/06/2018 11:12

Ah bugger button will they just wait a few more days?

ButtonMooooon · 18/06/2018 12:47

Donor is ready for collection on Wednesday so definitely going to frozen cycle now. Nurse was going to speak to Consultant about whether to up my meds and did a blood test to check I am absorbing the Progynova.

Just realised I need to ring up and ask about DTD as DH has to give his sample on Wednesday morning and TBH it's been ages as he had an operation and hasn't been up to it Blush

OP posts:
ButtonMooooon · 18/06/2018 14:41

FFS clinic have just rang to say they still want to go ahead with collection etc but not go ahead for this cycle with me. They are going to review me in clinic to decide best course of action in a few weeks Sad

OP posts:
Bear1980 · 18/06/2018 17:00

ttc did you manage to get blood test beta today? Line looked good to me but understand your concerns, it's always more comforting to me to know the underlying numbers.

button that sucks but am sure clinic wouldn't make that call if they didn't think it was right. Hopefully you will get more i formation from them soon as to why they felt it best to wait.
