Hey pickle sounds like you are getting on great, it's so nice to hear and pez 6 months already that has gone fast, nice to hear from you.

Congrats on your iui ttc glad it went well and hope your tea is not too bad.

button sorry things are not going straightforward but sounds like you have a good option there. Tbh if I have to do another cycle of ivf I am considering asking to do a freeze all (assuming I get good enough quality embryos that is). From what I have read the success rates are around the same as a fresh cycle and I was in so much pain after positive test this time that I think a freeze all might work better for me. Although 🤞🏻 I will get bfp on FET.

sally sorry your family are not all being supportive. I am lucky that my family are very supportive although I also like the idea of a doula, just someone a bit removed from the situation to help me out. My only 2 real concerns when starting this journey were childcare if my parents weren't supportive or weren't around. I can easily cover the early years with nursery but it is more all of the school holidays I worry about (I guess this wouldn't be an issue for you). I figure I will work it out when I get to that stage. 2nd is Father's Day, again the early years I am fine with but it is when the child goes to school and they are making cards etc that I worry about. I actually spoke to the counsellor about this and feel much better about it now.

Hope everyone else is doing well

Hi everyone,

I'm about to go to bed as rathe rtired bit wanted to introduce myself. Two natural iuis jan and feb 2017. First one bfp but had chemical pregnancy. Second month my little bean stuck and I now have six and half month baby.

I still follow when I can to hear people's journey especially those who I chatted to during my journey. Experiment/ Kwick - I'm so pleased for you and watching for updates.

I'll try and post helpful advice when can but either hands full or tired a lot ( though wouldn't change it for the world - I'm even contemplating trying again)

Further details I was 34 when starte, 35 now. Used London sperm bank and London Women’s clinic.
Moved back to Liverpool to be around family. Support good but also love giving parents role of grandparents. They even positive about me trying again.

I didn't have doula as realised I would have to have c section under general due to back issues.

Planned financially as best I could three years or so previously. Still skint now though lol.

Love to you all, wishing you all the best of luck with journeys xxxx

Pez / pickle I will find enough brain time to message you both when I can but love seeing you pop up on posts xxxxx

Treasure, so nice to hear from you too! And how addictive our little thread is, we can't help it and keep checking what's going on 😊

Sally, my DD's donor daddy is Danish (half Swedish). I used ESB and they were really good and decently priced too I found. However, your clinic might not accept donors from any sperm bank so it's worth checking. Likewise, most clinics have agreements with some sperm banks and can get you discounts on bulk orders.

I was also thinking of going down to 4 days a week once the 30 hours kick in but instead I'm already planning to try for another baby in summer 2021 (I have a couple of blasts in the freezer)... still a long way ahead so will see what happens!

Bear, I was wondering the other day about Father's Day but then talking to some friends I realised that nurseries/ Schools are really used to these situations and will deal with it appropriately. My friend's daughter has befriended a girl from nursery who has 2 daddies and now my friend has had to get her explanation in place for when her DD asks about how this is possible 😂 (she's 4 and starting to ask a lot of questions!)

@SallyA1 we used the European sperm bank we found it cheaper than cryos and found a donor we liked on it! For 3 vials a pregnancy slot and shipping fees it was €2300. We were extremely lucky to get pregnant on our first iui and we are having twins so don't know if we will ever use the other vials but at least we have the option.

Bear1980 · 05/06/2018 17:33

Thanks pez yeah I figure I would just talk to the teacher and they can have the child decide who they want to make a card for. It's so funny I think as adults we overthink these things so much but kids just tend to accept what they are told / have always known lol.

Sally I also am using ESB and my clinic has a deal with them which allowed me to get baby photos, letters etc. I also get cheap shipping as long as I arrange delivery as part of their Tuesday bulk delivery. As pez says it is definitely worth checking with your clinic.

pez / pickle / treasure I like seeing you guys pop up from time to time, it's a reminder that there is a positive end for most people. Glad you are all doing well 😀

lovelymojitos · 05/06/2018 18:05

I found choosing a donor really hard - almost information overload so eventually went with a basic donor (forgotten the exact term) with Cryos which was cheaper than the donors with more info and still included nationality, hair colour, eye colour, job, height, weight. I went with a tall skinny donor in the hope that it might cancel out my short fat genes...!!
My clinic didn't have any special deals with any of the sperm banks.

Zoo33 · 05/06/2018 19:39

I've got my tests next week with the London Women's Clinic. I think they recommend the London Sperm
Bank but I've been reading these posts about the European Sperm
Bank with interest. Do the LWC have a deal with them? I can probably ask next week when I have my consultation but I'd like to go armed with the info and possible options if possible. They make quite a big deal of their "donor app" to help choose...

TreasureInMyTummy · 05/06/2018 22:40

Zoo London sperm bank is the basement of the offices for London women's clinic. ( you see the sign in the window below when you go for consultation) not sure if they have deal but I wanted uk sperm so it was easier ( the nhs bank didn't seem to have any/much and I think from memory a long waiting list though a lot cheaper)

TreasureInMyTummy · 05/06/2018 22:40

They might do the three for two offer like the iui treatment offer ... defo ask

Bear1980 · 07/06/2018 16:55

Hey all hope things are going well. I have had a good day in that I secured a promotion at work but it is also making me feel slightly awkward. It is definitely not going to stop me trying for a baby but I will feel a bit awkward if I am going in in a few months time to say i am pregnant. Part of me feels like I shouldn't have gone for it but the extra money will be helpful and I might not get the chance again.

In other news my hcg levels are still around 10 so despite feeling like I am ovulating my blood test is still coming up positive (I am now 4 or 5 weeks on from miscarriage and highest level was only 330 so it is taking forever to drop) which is quite frustrating. Back again next week.

lovelymojitos · 07/06/2018 18:16

Well done on your promotion bear!!
Sorry to hear your hcg is still raised - it's being really persistent isn't it? Really frustrating I'm sure but guess there's nothing they can give you. At least it's going in the right direction!
I had a weak moment, felt a bit sick at work so nicked a pregnancy test... Was negative but not too surprised as only day 8 post iui!At least I know if it's positive when I check again it's properly positive...!!
(I work in a GP Surgery so that's who I nicked the test from - reading it back it sounded like I'd just nicked one from boots!!)

TinyPaws · 07/06/2018 19:01

Well done bear! My hCG was 12 yesterday, more than 5 weeks post miscarriage. Had a positive urine test yesterday too. I've already had my first period, hopefully should be good to go for next cycle but hCG levels are taking ages to fall!

Bear1980 · 07/06/2018 19:10

Thanks lovely and tiny. lovely 8 dpiui is still really early so still plenty time for that to change.

tiny will be great if you can go next cycle, clinic are confident that my levels will be down next week but feel like they have said that every week so am not getting my hopes up. Just a waiting game now

Ttc2017 · 07/06/2018 21:51

Tiny and bear fingers crossed your levels drop very soon and you get the go ahead It must be horrible after everything you been through waiting for this now to x

Lovely fingers crossed test again in few days 8 dpiui is very very early don't blame you testing though I'm only 3 dpiui and going crazy already desperate for time to go quickly x

lovelymojitos · 07/06/2018 21:58

Thanks all, I knew it was too early - just a moment of madness! Will probably wait til OTD now as it's my birthday this wkend so would rather stay in hopeful ignorance for a bit longer!!

Ttc2017 · 08/06/2018 09:20

Trigger gone already 4dpiui 6dpt is that too soon? tested last at 1dpiui and was there but not super dark then x

ButtonMooooon · 08/06/2018 12:09

Finally started my period yesterday so just about to have my down regulation scan. Fingers crossed everything is doing what it should and I don't have to come back on Tuesday for a repeat!!

Also fingers crossed for no cysts!!

OP posts:
Ttc2017 · 08/06/2018 13:26

That's great button fingers crossed all goea well at scan! X

PaisleyBE · 08/06/2018 14:11

Fingers crossed, Button !!!

Is anyone else waiting to begin a treatment end June/early July? Days are going by so slowly!
Yesterday I ordered my medicine at the pharmacy - good that I went there now and not later, since all injections had to be ordered! My card literally cried-out when I was paying. Grin But I was pleasantly surprised by the pharmacy staff, she didn't bat an eye over a foreign prescription and she said that I can keep my meds safely in their fridge until needed.

Lovely and Ttc , good luck in your tww! May the days fly by!

ButtonMooooon · 08/06/2018 14:27

Hurrah!!! Good to go and start Progynova tomorrow, back a week on Monday for a further scan. One very small cyst forming but nothing of concern at this stage.

Still behind our donor so looks like we'll be freezing any embryos we are lucky enough to get but something went our way for once!! Glad I went today now!!

Bear1980 · 08/06/2018 16:19
