@jemimafuddleduck yes I think so but it's really difficult to hide!! I get more bloated as the day goes on and I look about 6 months by bedtime!!

They didn't know anyway and took it better than I expected!!

Wow @ButtonMooooon !!!

I'm 9 weeks pregnant but I think because I quite fat I just look fatter so I'm hiding bloating.

I'm hoping to wait until after 12 week scan to tell wider family/ work etc

Call from the embryologist this morning - 8 out of the original 12 fertilised but 3 of those were abnormal. We are left with 5 top quality (AB grade) embryos today (day 2). The embryologist seemed positive and I guess it's a good number, but for some reason I feel a bit despondent? What did you all have at this stage? Is this a good situation to be in?

ButtonMooooon · 19/12/2018 12:05

@jemimafuddleduck we ended up with 6 in the freezer, 4 top quality and 2 not so good, from 9 collected. We lost one in the thawing process and the second one they thawed is now 7+4! So we still have 4 in the freezer.

As I said at the time, you only need one! Grin

@ButtonMooooon so did it work first time for you then? Ie the first time you transferred an embryo it worked?

ButtonMooooon · 19/12/2018 12:29

Yes it's actually our third cycle but this is the only time we've actually got to transfer stage and it worked first time x

Hi all!

So... Transfer Day is here at last. We have had 2 embryos transferred and are waiting to hear how any we have to freeze. I managed to hold it together for most of the procedure, until the nurse handed me a gift from our anonymous donor. Blown away doesn’t even describe it - what an amazing woman. Fingers crossed now the little beans stick ❤️❤️

Chasing · 22/12/2018 22:50

Hi all, I haven’t posted for some time put remain an occasional visitor and am so pleased to have seen so many successes. My wife and I were really fortunate to have become pregnant on our second attempt with unmediated IUI and are now hoping for a second little one.

We’ve just had IUI so are in the TWW but for some reason aren’t feeling anywhere near as confident this time around. Maybe we used up all our luck? I’ve seen at least a few post regarding second timers and so was wondering how many of this there are?

jemimafuddleduck · 23/12/2018 07:34

Good luck @Chasing ! When is your OTD?

Chasing · 23/12/2018 10:22

Thanks @jemimafuddleduck you to! Your last post was lovely :) how nice to think the donor wanted to do that.

I think our OTD is the 5th - we’re soooo much less organised than last time! I’m not sure if it’s becasue of Christmas and being so busy or our little one and being so busy but it feels a lot different to our previous attempts. Maybe because we aren’t constantly talking about it!

jemimafuddleduck · 23/12/2018 12:26

Just found out none of the other embryos were suitable for freezing. Which makes me feel really negative - especially as the clinic recommended transferring 2 rather than 1 - they said at the beginning that they would only do that if they weren't great quality.
So I've gone from having 5 top grade embryos to 2 sub standard ones and no back up if they don't work.
Feeling very 😭 today.

ButtonMooooon · 24/12/2018 13:49

@jemimafuddleduck have they given any feedback as to why the quality suddenly changed? Don't forget it only takes one to work, try and hold onto that xx Thanks

@jemimafuddleduck I hope you’re feeling a little better today, you had the best two transferred and you need to stay positive. My consultant advises that only 25% of all fertilised embryos are suitable for freezing as the criteria is so high so it’s definitely not anything to worry about. Stay positive I’ve the tww and have plenty of laughs, apparently it’s good for implantation xx

@SallyA1 ahh that sucks my love, I'm so sorry. This whole process is a bitch isn't it. But you're right, the hormones make everything seem worse. Who was going to collect you? Have you asked them if they could change dates? Even nearer the time days can change at the drop of a hat.

I'm 6dp5dt today and will be testing on 1st Jan. OTD is on 2nd but that's my first day back at work and I want to give myself a day's grace. I know I sound really negative but I'm fully expecting a BFN. I just feel like it hasn't worked. And I feel really sad because of that.

ButtonMooooon · 29/12/2018 11:07

@jemimafuddleduck I was 100% convinced I would be BFN too. You just don't know what's going on in there. Fingers crossed for you Thanks

OP posts:
jemimafuddleduck · 30/12/2018 10:23

Thanks @ButtonMooooon. I will be truly shocked if it's a BFP. I'm convinced AF is about to start and keep checking every time I go to the toilet expecting to see blood. I've had no real symptoms whatsoever and the minor ones I have had I'm wondering if I've made them up in my mind. 2 more days until I test. And they can't come quick enough!!

ButtonMooooon · 30/12/2018 11:53

@jemimafuddleduck I never had any symptoms before testing. TBH I said to DH yesterday I feel like I am just waiting for something to go wrong. I am panicking today as my sickness has gone Hmm

OP posts:
jemimafuddleduck · 30/12/2018 12:03

@ButtonMooooon it's just swapping one anxiety for another isn't it 😢 when's your scan? Hopefully that'll make you feel better! X

ButtonMooooon · 30/12/2018 12:13

@jemimafuddleduck I have already had an early scan and seen the heartbeat and was told the risks of miscarriage are greatly reduced when you see a heartbeat that early but I am still panicking!! Got my MW booking appt on 9th Jan and 12 week scan is arranged then. I'll be 10+4 then so they'll have to arrange it sharpish

OP posts:
jemimafuddleduck · 30/12/2018 14:49

@ButtonMooooon aaah well that's great then! But I know you'll be worrying still. Have a look at this:

datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

ButtonMooooon · 30/12/2018 20:29

@jemimafuddleduck yes it does reassure me but then a small part of me thinks well someone has to be the 3.4%!! I don't know what's wrong with me, I can't remember if I was like this with DS or not.

When I told DH I had told you to try and stay positive until after you'd tested he made this face Hmm
