@SallyA1 it's exciting starting the meds isn't it! I've been on buserelin (nasal spray) for just over 2 weeks now. Started on progynova this week too. We're having donor eggs so it's all about building a good lining for me!

Spongebob79 · 10/12/2018 11:13

Hi everyone, after a long ttc journey we are now at point where we are considering the use of donor eggs. Thought this would be the best place to post for some support etc. DH’s sperm seem fine so I think it’s my eggs that are the issue. Just got a BFN on our 4th fresh round using own eggs and have a follow up consultation next week where I want to discuss donor eggs. I think we’re both open to the idea it’s the workings of it all really. Anyone on here done egg share that can explain the process?

jemimafuddleduck · 10/12/2018 14:37

Hi @Spongebob79
I am in the process of a DE cycle - I am on meds now and have been for a couple of weeks. Transfer is planned for Christmas Eve!
What specifically would you like to know? Happy to help if I can x

Spongebob79 · 10/12/2018 14:48

Hi jemimafuddleduck transfer on Christmas Eve, my fingers are crossed for you, is this your first DE round? I suppose I’m just looking into everything at the moment trying to get my head around it all. Is your donor an egg sharer? Did your clinic give an idea of the number of eggs you may get? At the moment I’m trying to weigh up the ease of using egg share from our clinic which is so convenient just up the road, using the team there who we trust, or looking at other options (maybe abroad) where you get 100% of all egg collected.

jemimafuddleduck · 10/12/2018 15:42

@Spongebob79
Our donor is an altruistic donor but eggs get shared between a number of recipients. We have been told we will get at least 4 eggs as a minimum.
It's our first ivf cycle. I have low ovarian reserve and the chances of it working with my eggs were not good, so we went straight to donor eggs.

LanieM87 · 10/12/2018 16:10

Hello everyone. I have been following this thread for a little while now! I am just starting out in my TTC journey! I am a single female and will be using a donor! I’ve come off the pill and have already become so obsessed with tracking my cycle even though I know it will take a while to track it properly. I have decided at present not to go down a clinic route so I am keen to learn as much about my body as possible!
It doesn’t seem that there are many on here using known donors or a bank for home insemination? I

Anyway I look forward to speaking with you all and sharing our stories and hopefully successes!

Hi @LanieM87
Sooty that's not something I have any experience in but hopefully there'll be someone along soon who might be able to help.
@SallyA1 I'm ok... not great though tbh. Physically I'm fine but emotionally I'm a wreck. I can't deal with stress in the way I normally would, I'm snapping at DH all the time and am crying most days. I'm really struggling actually.
I got particularly upset a couple of days ago because I wanted to be "strong" throughout this process and was really upset that I haven't been. I feel disappointed in myself 😭

jemimafuddleduck · 13/12/2018 19:16

Update from me:
My donor was scanned yesterday and I was scanned today, and we are both progressing perfectly! She is being scanned again tomorrow, and depending on the results will have egg collection either Monday or Wednesday. How exciting!
We also had some more good news - I thought that whatever eggs were produced would be shared between me and another recipient but we get all of them!!! So hopefully we will have some to spare too 🤞🤞
On the downside, my hormones are still all over the place. I cried on the nurse this morning (who was absolutely lovely and gave me a massive hug ❤️).

ButtonMooooon · 14/12/2018 16:58

Hi everyone!!

Just checking in, have just been for scan and been discharged from clinic. Dated at 6+6, EDD 03.08.19. Saw the heartbeat too which is a good sign as so early and a little arm bud forming and trying to wave to us.

I may have cried

Wishing baby dust to all those on this thread xxx

@jemimafuddleduck your update sounds very positive! Good luck for your collection next week! Hope your hormones settle down! The joy of being a woman eh?! Hmm

Aww congratulations @buttonMooooon that’s such lovely news. I wish you all the best 😊

jemimafuddleduck · 17/12/2018 19:38

Egg collection went amazingly well today - we have 12 eggs! Which, considering last week I only thought we'd have 4 as would be egg sharing is fab!
DH produced a "particularly good sample" according to the embryologist- which he is very smug about so we are all systems go! We will get a phone call on Wednesday to let us know how many have fertilised 🤞🤞
I can't believe our time is finally here...

Thanks @SallyA1
You can do it 🙌🙌 I have had good days and bad days, you will too I'm sure. But we just have to remember why we're doing this and hopefully we'll be rewarded with our bfp! X

ButtonMooooon · 18/12/2018 07:08

I appreciate its me saying this but try to stay positive @SallyA1. Although I never was!!

Today I have to go and tell my work I am 7 weeks pregnant. I have been in post for 5 weeks. Not looking forward to this part!! Confused

ButtonMooooon · 18/12/2018 07:33

To be fair @jemimafuddleduck I think they probably know already!!
