Hi Button,
I hope you found some answers? Were the clinic able to advise? DW will be taking menopur so I imagine we will face similar uncertainties!

ButtonMooooon · 15/09/2018 13:14

I realised I definitely did it at the wrong angle Blush

I've done two in my other thigh with no issues at all and still have the bruise from Wednesday on the other leg!! I was concerned I was going to end up covered in bruises!!

Great news button x

AnotherGin · 20/09/2018 11:31

Just booked my follow up at the new clinic, to start the ball rolling for January. I'm excited and also terrified.

OneMoreWish · 20/09/2018 16:35

Great news @AnotherGin

I started spotting yesterday at 9dpo and same on my period today so no successful iui this month.

I'm thinking of pausing for a month to see if I can increase the luteal phrase otherwise I feel it might be a waste of money trying again this month ...

Feeling a bit sad today

ButtonMooooon · 21/09/2018 07:38

Please can everyone said AF thoughts my way, I need to have bled for at least 24 hours before my scan at 10am on Monday. Please not another 60 day cycle Confused

A year ago today I found out I was pregnant. It's crazy how much your life can change in a year. Sorry, having a mope this evening.

@OneMoreWish Sorry to hear your news. Definitely sending AF thoughts your way @ButtonMooooon.

ButtonMooooon · 26/09/2018 09:54

Hooray button!! Great news - hoping everything goes well for you from here.

We had our 7 week scanlst week, and after a scary 24 hours of spotting beforehand, were relieved to see a tiny bean with a beating heart! DW won’t stop falling asleep and is starting to feel bouts of nausea so all looking normal from here. Sad and happy to be leaving the clinic and heading out into the world of standard pregnancy protocol! Just 4 more weeks until we can properly share the news.

Thanks to all here for being a listening ear.

Eeeeek Ginger how exciting!!!

Scan was okay, lining is thin but she could see some structures which were either cysts or follicles. Had a blood test to confirm and will get results tomorrow. Fingers crossed for cysts although she was fairly confident as they looked very similar to last scan

On the plus side I went early, had a mooch around Meadowhall by myself and did a spot of Christmas shopping (I spent over £50 in Primark, didn't even know that was possible!) Grin

On the negative side, I hit rush hour coming home and it took me 2 and a half hours to do 65 miles Hmm

@SallyA1 keeping fingers crossed for you; that would be ace of you could get funding. You will be the first single person I have heard of to get funding connected to fertility. If you are successful I'm sure you will also give hope to many others with similar circumstances x

@GingerSnapp great news - it is a relief to see the heart beat and it finally makes it all seem real :) I found ginger snaps helped my morning sickness ;)

Good luck for tomorrow @ButtonMooooon xxx

I had a think and decided to go ahead again this month. I spoke to consultant and he agreed to put on my notes iui needed to be done around 30 hours as I wasn't happy how late in the day they did it this time round. I think he thought I was crackers but I insisted.

I also asked if I could have progesterone afterwards to try and lengthen my luteal phase just s little and he agreed.

Stupidly I'm predicted to ovulate on my birthday so I'm hoping I'll be lucky x

@SallyA1 keeping my fingers crossed for you ; as you say if you were in a couple you would meet criteria . Do you know when you will find out? X

Iui will probably be mid month... I'm on cd 8 and normally late teens i ovulate. Hoping it's not a Sunday again - Monday's are too busy for my liking!

AnotherGin · 27/09/2018 23:33

Question for you all. I had my consultation today and am torn between trying a few cycles of IUI or going straight to IVF. I was thinking IUI first and then reassess, but now I don't know if it's better to pay more for the slightly better chances of pregnancy?

My major concern is getting pregnant and losing it, which I guess won't be affected by the route I take, although unsuccessful IUI still leaves IVF as an option, whereas I think failed IVF would be that much more heartbreaking as there's nowhere really to go from there. I have a below average ovarian reserve result (low AMH and follicle count) but all things being equal, what would you do?

OneMoreWish · 28/09/2018 21:22

@AnotherGin that's a difficult one. My tests didn't show any fertility problems and I considered both.

I thought ivf seemed better chance of getting pregnant but in the end I went for iui as less expensive ( if successful to begin with) and the key for me less intrusive . I'm crap with needles and I hear the hormones/ drugs needed can make your emotions go a bit loopy. But I guess it depends on each person and why ivf is your chosen path.

I planned on 3 goes with natural iui then I would consider ivf. I got a bfp first time but had a chemical pregnancy and did iui the next month after with no gap and got bfp which was a sticky bean.

This time I did natural iui but on the day felt so stressed they had done it so late so although I hoped it worked I also felt it didn't have a chance.

Going to do another natural iui this month and stay positive. If it's not a bfp will have a think about my next step...

Hope you can figure out what best for you xxx

AnotherGin · 28/09/2018 22:41

Thanks @SallyA1 and @OneMoreWish. There's no easy option / answer, is there?

My AMH is 7.3 (I'm 34) so the clinic have recommended medicated treatment as I may respond better to that compared to unmedicated (needles 😕), so we'll see. I got pregnant quickly naturally last year but my last consultant didn't hold much by that. I think I'll try a 3 cycle package of IUI and then reassess.

I just want someone to tell me it'll work after x number of goes and £x so that I can relax about the whole sodding thing.

ButtonMooooon · 28/09/2018 22:58

Clinic rang. I am producing hormones even after being on Suprecur for over 2 weeks. I just went into DSs room and he's sound asleep. I don't understand how my body can produce this perfect being and yet for a second it's just no it's not happening. It feels like one thing after another Sad

Ouch @ButtonMooooon that looks painful!

I feel a bit like you. I was happy I got my bfp pretty quick last time- I was really hoping my body would 'remember' and it would happen quickly again

@AnotherGin yep me too if someone said if you have three goes of iui and you will get pregnant on one of them I would so relax then. The doctor said to be before our conversation finished the other day to stay positive - easier said than done on certain days! Xx

ButtonMooooon · 29/09/2018 23:23

@OneMoreWish I came off the pill in February 2010 and was pregnant by October with DS. We actually waited until September 2012 to come off the pill again as we didn't want too small an age gap. My AMH is 1.1 (I am now 41). We will never know if DS was a miracle baby or if my AMH rapidly deteriorated 🤷‍♀️
