That's very true. I feel pretty pissed off that I need to fork out thousands of pounds for fertility treatment but thinking about it, my ex cost me more than that in expensive gifts and money he owes me that I'll never get back. At least my whole family is behind this - would be harder if they weren't. They really didn't like him so feel this is a far better option. Not sure they'll help pay for it though sadly. (Sorry I'm feeling very antsy tonight.)

Hi Everyone, just wondering if there’s anyone on here who has had success with natural cycle IUI?

I’m cycle day 1 today of our last (of 3) attempt at donor sperm with IUI. My first two rounds were medicated. For the first round I suspect was a no go due to the size of the follicle (27mm day before trigger) and the second, I stimulated well, had 2 better sized follicles but at about 5dpo had some really awful pains which I now wonder if they were a cyst rupturing. I scared of either of these things happening again and debating having the last go naturally. What do you all think?

I’ve had natural IUI’s before with DH’s sperm and have always had good follicles, lining etc. I’m a bit torn about what to do. I will discuss with the clinic but I suspect they will just say it’s up to me which is why I’d appreciate hearing if there any any natural iui success stories out there?

Hi @closephine85 I got my bfp with my first cycle of IUI. It was unmedicated using donor sperm as we are a same sex couple! We were extremely lucky, I'm now 23 weeks pregnant with twins!

I didn't have any additional tests or medication they only tested my amh level and scanned to check my ovaries. We opted not to have the hycosy. Our clinic perform the first cycle unmedicated and then take it from there. We still can't believe how lucky we have been!

Zoo33 · 24/06/2018 10:26

Hi @Smithguy86 Can I ask which clinic you used and where you sourced the sperm?

I've been researching all night and am so confused. Looks like my choice of clinic will be Bristol, Cardiff or Oxford, none of which is going to be very convenient with a full time job if I go for medicated IUI.

Smithguy86 · 24/06/2018 10:33

Hi @Zoo33 I'm in Northern Ireland so we only had one clinic available GCRM. We were lucky in that the clinic is only 15mins away from where we live. We used the European Sperm Bank, my CMV was negative so it massively reduced our choice of donors which was blessing in disguise really.

Amazing news for us today. All 6 have developed to blastocyst, 4 top quality and 2 just borderline so all 6 going in freezer today Grin

They said it's really unusual and they expect about half to reach blastocyst! Something has finally gone right!! Yay

£500 a month is quite a lot extra to pay for convenience, isn't it?? Or is it worth it to not have to take lots of half days for scans and treatments each cycle? I certainly wouldn't want to tell my employer why I was taking time off...

Zoo33 · 25/06/2018 12:33

*£500 a cycle that should say

TinyPaws · 25/06/2018 17:14

My period has started. I've made an appointment with the fertility clinic tomorrow for baseline scan - hopefully we will be able to try again this cycle.

Bear1980 · 25/06/2018 19:48

Yay button thats great news.

Good luck with your appointment tiny hope it goes well.

closephine85 · 25/06/2018 20:42

Tiny, are you having IVF or IUI? I am also Day 1 and having baseline scan tomorrow for round 3 IUI.

TinyPaws · 25/06/2018 20:44

@closephine85 I'm having medicated IUI. This will also be round 3 for me, it's been a long time since round 2 though as I conceived then miscarried. Are you having a medicated or unmedicated cycle?

I had a cyst on my last miscarriage follow up scan so fingers crossed that's resolved.

closephine85 · 25/06/2018 20:56

Sorry yes, I remember reading that earlier in the thread Flowers best of luck for tomorrow, I really hope your cyst has resolved and you can go ahead.

I’m having medicated I think, I was wobbling about it as neither of the last 2 rounds have gone brilliantly but I think I’d rather the chance of a couple of good follicles rather than just the one. DH and I have been ttc a second child for almost 5 years now so I’m pretty exhausted and almost completely broken but doing my best to cling on and muster some positivity from somewhere for this!

Ttc2017 · 26/06/2018 10:07

Good luck tiny! X

TinyPaws · 26/06/2018 10:47

Thanks Ttc!

Scan this morning was all good, cyst completely gone, so this cycle is go.

Fingers crossed for your scan today closephine!

closephine85 · 26/06/2018 11:17

Thanks Tiny, all good and all go for me too! Injections start tonight!

lovelymojitos · 26/06/2018 21:48

Good luck for your cycles closephine and tiny!

TinyPaws · 27/06/2018 20:11

Thanks lovely

closephine85 · 29/06/2018 06:39

Thanks Lovely

Sorry if this is TMI for waking up to on a Friday morning Blush but following my scratch and HSG last month my AF has been really different to normal. Usually I have 2-3 days of brown spotting in the run up, once it then starts it’s usually a darkish red and I would say the blood is quite thick? This lasts for 2-3 days and is then again followed by the brown blood for a couple of days. This month I had one day of light red flow followed by 2-3 days of bright bright red blood, thinner in its consistency than usual and now it seems to be stopping (day 6) but I’ve had none of the brown blood. I can only assume this is a good thing, but now I’m wondering if my ‘normal’ periods are actually completely abnormal? Or if this one is just some kind of super AF due to the procedures last month?!

PaisleyBE · 29/06/2018 14:53

Closephine and Tiny , good luck on your cycles!

I'm joining you today, but with IVF. I had my baseline scan, sent the results to Denmark and they gave me a green light. Tonight is my first Gonal pen injection! Hmm
