Thats great ttc hope everything looks good at your next scan. Re: menopur I was told that once it has been mixed you don't need to keep it in the fridge.

Congratulations tiny wow twins thats exciting news 😀

Welcome atomicamy, when are you planning on 1st IUI?

atomicamy · 08/03/2018 16:31

Hi Bear,

First appt with the consultant was Tuesday. Blood tests start this week (perfectly timed flow) - hopefully by the end of March all initial blood tests will be complete and we can aim for a quicker appt to get in again before August. We'll try for a cancellation slot.

Hopefully we can get the first IUI done in-year. Fingers crossed.

Hi ladies I could really do with some positive stories...second blood test was only 294 from 241 hcg and progesterone had gone down from 30.7-29.7. I'm really starting to loose all hope here. 😢😭

Ttc2017 · 08/03/2018 16:39

Mandy is it iui or ivf you've had? Crossing my fingers for you are you in the tww sorry those numbers mean nothing to me as not got that far but hoping things go well for u x

Mandy002 · 08/03/2018 16:52

I had DE IVF. 2WW is over now had a positive pregnancy test but levels I think are supposed to double every 48hrs.

Bear1980 · 08/03/2018 17:42

mandy not sure if this helps but I have been following a couple on youtube who have been going through something similar. Their first hcg was 70 which only went to 82 2 days later. In another 2 days it went to 129 and then 255. The latest one didn't double but they have had early ultrasound and dr could see sac and looks like something in it so they are staying positive.

Everyone is different and it is a positive sign that the numbers have increased even if not doubled. I hope that everything goes smoothly for you, are you going to get numbers checked again?

Mandy002 · 08/03/2018 18:00

Thank you @Bear1980 yes having numbers checked again on Monday and they've doubled the progesterone- 1 injection AND 4 200mg pessaries a day. I'll check out the YouTube thing too that sounds helpful.

Starshine1 · 08/03/2018 19:13

Mandy- I don’t really know, but in my head the hcg has continued to climb which is positive. As you’re body has been stimulated to accept the egg, would think the progesterone drop is just due to insufficient doses- which it sounds as if they are trying to correct - that must be why they have all the blood tests after? So hoping it is all ok for you. Have everything crossed

Everhopeful76 · 08/03/2018 20:04

mandy just also to note that with donor egg treatment it can mean that implantation occurs late so can take a while to get going. My 2 nd test did more than double but I started on an hcg of 80!!!
Was this an hcg done 48 hours later or 24?
Don't want to give false hope but it could be why this is happening.

Everhopeful76 · 08/03/2018 20:06

Oh and also the progesterone level is only very nominally different. It could be that for one reason you had a pessary that didn't take so it reduced it slightly. Adding in extra will help this but this has happened quite a lot with serum ladies and medical director didn't bat an eyelid with small changes

Mandy002 · 08/03/2018 20:28

Thanks @Starshine1. @Everhopeful76 I was tested 48hrs apart. I hope that's the case and the clinic said they have this issue all the time but I'm sure it's not coupled with two weeks of bleeding. Sorry I'm sure I sound more down than I am but I just want everything to be ok.

Mandy002 · 08/03/2018 20:29

Sorry also just double checked and progesterone was actually 25.1 compared to 30.7 the test before. 😬

Ttc2017 · 08/03/2018 21:38

Do I inject supricur first or menopur argh

Ttc2017 · 08/03/2018 21:56

Ended up doing suprecur first. mandy can your clinic do a scan yet or is it to soon? I have heard about how levels cant always be trusted for example they say they rise quicker with twins but then some people with twins have low or normal levels so it's not totally reliable also my friend had periods/bleeding right through her pregnancy. Crossing my fingers for u x

LRDtheFeministDragon · 08/03/2018 22:07

Do your clinic not talk you through doing the meds, ttc? Mine were a bit useless this time (in fact I think they actually forgot I never saw them on Friday because I couldn't get through), but at least they can afford to be sketchy with details because we've done it all before.

mandy, I don't know anything about any of this, but I am thinking of you.

pickle162 · 08/03/2018 22:46

I did them around the same time ttc the most important thing is that you take at the same time everyday. I was on suprecur daily and Menopur every other day so always did the suprecur first but had alarm on phone so always was on time

Mandy I know it's so so hard but you just have to take each day as it comes and try not to stress about it as there really isn't anything you can do to change anything- I know it's not that easy but really is best to have that mindset

Zoo33 · 09/03/2018 11:12

Hi all. I've just booked to go to a single women's fertility clinic open day. I'm 34 and newly single so just interested in finding out more about my options at this stage. Obviously I'm hoping to meet someone lovely and start a family with him, but I'm conscious that time isn't necessarily on my side (and I've already had one miscarriage).

At the risk of being supremely nosy, for those who are single, at what point did you think sod it and decide you were ready to do this alone?

Latenightreader · 09/03/2018 11:54

Hi Zoo. For me it was when I realised that I was no longer bothered about being single and dating attempts made me supremely uncomfortable. What did upset me was the thought of never having children. I've been single for a very long time and am very comfortable with it, but turning 36 gave me pause. Started the process two years ago, and am 7+5 (incredibly anxious) weeks.

Zoo33 · 09/03/2018 13:59

Thanks @Latenightreader and congratulations on your pregnancy! Has it taken two years because that's just the way it is and because it's a long process? (Sorry, this is all very new to me.)

Bear1980 · 09/03/2018 16:20

Welcome zoo I thought about it for 4 or 5 years before I went on to visit a clinic and I would say that I wish I had found the courage to move forward sooner as the younger you are the better. Good luck at the open day, let us know about it 😀

pickle162 · 09/03/2018 17:13

Welcome zoo I got to the point where I could not bare hearing that someone else was pregnant. It was September 2015 when I started to look into it. Like Late I wasn't overly fussed about whether had a partner or not but not being a mummy was not an option for me.
I decided that I wanted to started may 2017 so I could save etc. I went to a singles seminar at London's women's clinic then sussed out which clinic I wanted to use and then around Dec 16 I had blood tests to check amh level (gives you an idea of ovarian reserve) then consultation in January and then first try in may 17 (could have been a little earlier but with Work I wanted more specific dates) which was unsuccessful then 2nd attempt in July 17 was successful and at 34 I'm now 35weeks +4days pregnant with a little girl. Never regretted my decision to go it alone.

Zoo33 · 09/03/2018 20:14

@pickle162 I'm there already! Lots of tears anytime I hear someone I know is pregnant. And a strange sense of betrayal when they've found it so easy, but that might the miscarriage talking. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I bet you're counting down the days until she appears.

@Bear1980 Thanks, I will do. I was hoping to take my brother along for moral support but it's a women only thing. Not sure whether people tend to go alone or if I need to cajole a friend into coming with me.

The thought of waiting to meet someone and it being far too late to have a child fills me with terror. It's a horrible situation to be in, but I'm so glad we have this option.

pickle162 · 09/03/2018 20:34

@Zoo33 yes exactly how I felt, why was it so easy and straight forward for others and not for me.

Ttc2017 · 09/03/2018 21:14

What should I expect at my next scan (check follicles n how I'm responding to meds) what could go wrong or be red flags for carrying on? I know Mrs negative me at moment haha x

Ttc2017 · 09/03/2018 21:15

I decided to go it alone as I figured better to do that then to get with the wrong person for the wrong reasons which would be alot harder on a child than having a living stable single parent home x
