I am be-jizzed, thank you pickle. And thanks everyone for good wishes.

I am going to concentrate on positive thoughts and forget about all the unnecessary stress with the clinic, though they really weren't great.

tiny, looks as if we are cycle buddies for the TWW. Smile

Wonky35 · 05/03/2018 20:09

Am so glad your scan looks good late. That must have been so scary! Also really pleased you managed to get things sorted for today lrd - what a massive stress.

My little one has been driving me nuts over the last couple of days. I have not been feeling much movement (currently 26 weeks) but baby is definitely making up for it tonight which is so reassuring.

Initially I wasn't sure what I was going to tell people about the pregnancy late but in the end I decided to just be completely honest with everyone. I just figured it's not something I want to lie about and I don't want people who know I am single thinking that baby was a mistake when she/he is absolutely wanted and planned for! I really haven't had any bad reactions at all except my next door neighbour who when I said I was pregnant responded with 'oh no'! Hmm

pickle162 · 05/03/2018 20:24

Oh yeh re telling midwife, apart from her not really understanding the dates she was really happy and supportive (my advise take along your scan from clinic as that will have due dates on, my midwife wouldnt believe my timings due to lack of understanding until I showed her the scan) no one seems to have said a bad word about it, haven't shouted it from the roof top but if people have asked about partner I have told them

Worst experience was when I had 12 week scan and she was being a pickle for the sonographer and he said "oh can we blame the dad?!" I said sure I don't know who he is and then was like arghhhh no wait she is a donor baby I've not just slept with random strangers 😂 but was quite amusing

pickle162 · 05/03/2018 20:26

Wonky my little monkey did the same just didn't move for a whole day and scared me shitless....was 25weeks as was Xmas eve 😬think sometimes they get in a position where can't feel what you are used to.every week the type of movements seem to change. Make sure you get checked if little one does go quiet just to make sure

LRDtheFeministDragon · 05/03/2018 20:29

Grin pickle, that made me snigger.

pickle162 · 05/03/2018 21:50

It was amusing 😂 and I was like I will learn from that error

Ttc2017 · 06/03/2018 09:37

That's so funny love the way people assume there is a dad lol af came today so baseline scan on Thursday just hope lining not to thick this month and there no polyp crossing my fingers! X

pickle162 · 06/03/2018 10:03

Yay for af :) (only time af is ok!)

Ttc2017 · 06/03/2018 11:38

Sorry for tmi is it normal to get clots after noresthisterone and not much normal bleeding argh hope I start bleeding more so lining is thin enough by Thurs x

pickle162 · 06/03/2018 12:09

I had really tiny bit of light pink blood before my cycle and was the night before my scan, was so scared but lining was fine, nurse said lining wouldn't have grown as thick

Mandy002 · 06/03/2018 12:50

Hi
Anyone know if HCG 241. Progesterone 30.7 is good? I'm still bleeding too 😩

ButtonMooooon · 06/03/2018 12:52

Pickle I read your later post loads of times with people saying it was funny thinking I don't get it, I only just saw the one above it about you telling the sonographer you don't know who the dad is!!!

So i called the clinic for an update today after they were going to call the donor yesterday and we didn't hear anything.

Basically the donor is ignoring their calls, not returning voicemails and emails are bouncing back as mailbox is full. I wish I had asked how long this had been going on for. They said they were writing today to tell her she has until Monday to contact them

Quick phone call to DH and I rang back to say we want to be rematched. If she's doing this now I don't want to get further down the line and her disappear again

At the moment I don't know if I am angrier at the donor for not telling the clinic she'd changed her mind or the clinic for not being honest with us

They've just done a recruitment campaign and have 30 ladies waiting to be processed to see if they are suitable for egg donation so hopefully we won't be waiting too long for a new match

LRDtheFeministDragon · 06/03/2018 12:53

ttc, I took norethisterone once (not during TTC, but still), and you would not believe the clots! I was shocked - it was like chunks of raw liver. Really not what I was expecting. But my GP said it's not uncommon. Obviously check if you are worried, but your post definitely reminded me of my experience, and I was totally fine after.

pickle162 · 06/03/2018 18:06

Try not to panic yet ttc, still got a good few hours before scan on Thursday. Keep an open mind. Will keep everything crossed sweetie x

Starshine1 · 06/03/2018 20:08

Hi all,

I hope it’s ok to join in the thread. So lovely to read some positive stories on here. and I wish everyone lots of Babydust and smooth pregnancies for those that are pregnant.

I am 37, AMH 1.9, FSH 15. Have one little boy, who is now 4 and count my blessings every day for him! Ttc for 3years- 2 missed mc and 3 chemical pregnancies in that time. Haven’t been pregnant for over a year and had lots of investigations for previous miscarriages- diagnosed borderline nk cells, but following amh and fsh, think my eggs have a lot to answer for! We have just booked for a consultation at serum in Greece at the end of March. I can’t face risking my eggs and having more miscarriages (I know it’s possible with donor, but at least less chance!) so we are going straight for DE. Just wondered if anyone could give me any advice on how long the wait or following initial appointment roughly and whether you need to be at a certain point in your cycle for the DE? Also do they normally transfer one or two? Hopefully someone can help- reading through there are so many knowledgable people on here!

Buttonmoon- I hope you get some positive news on a new donor soon.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 06/03/2018 22:04

Hello star! Sorry, I can't help with advice but I wanted to say hi anyway. Smile

Ttc2017 · 06/03/2018 22:07

Thanks pickle :)
Butonmoon that sounds so frustrating and annoying! Fingers crossed they can match you up with some one asap!

Hi star I have no experience of de but sending you lots of baby dust and wishing you lots of luck!
Congrats wonky and good luck lrd and tiny hope your tww goes by quickly! X

Everhopeful76 · 07/03/2018 08:56

Morning starshine & Welcome. There are a couple of us ladies who ve had treatment at Serum with donor eggs. I had a full donor egg cycle back in September and am almost 28w pregnant with a little girl (upon first attempt, and have 3 frosties too), and another of us has gone for the embryo adoption route and been lucky on her 2nd attempt. There are several others on this thread who have been either successful on this route or are trying, thru clinics in Spain, Greece and I think Cyprus

Serum are an absolutely fantastic clinic, they have great success rates, their customer service is excellent (from Medical Director/Founder to the Consultants thru to all the reception staff turn queries round often same day). You will be very well looked after.

Once you ve had the initial phone assessment or alternatively have gone over for this, its really a very quick turnaround. I had my initial phone consult on 24th Jul last year, and I was in active treatment by the end of August to grow womb lining. So really you ll only need to have a cycle in between, or if timing is right, you can jump in almost straight away. You may be aware that sometimes (depending on fertility history) they suggest/recommend having a hysteroscopy, and usually suggest an aquascan regardless. If hysteroscopy this can delay things a bit, but aquascan can be done in UK or at Serum just prior to treatment (has to be done early in cycle - after period and before day 12 is usually suggested). Obviously you needn't have either but it will probably be suggested in a bid to maximise your chances.

In terms of donors being found, this is almost instant. You give your list of preferences and the clinic will match them. Embryo adoption is cheaper - and thus sometimes (but not always) less scope for matching as embies are already developed so the clinic would get the best possible match on say hair colour/eye colour preferences. These are defrosted (in pairs) and usually both are suggested to transfer.
Full donor egg cycle is a 2K more expensive (plus storage costs for other embryos) but you can be a little more specific in preferences and hopefully would get at least 1/2 more attempts with FETs, although that cannot be guaranteed. I got 5 top AA blasts in total, had 2 transferred and 1 took. Both methods have similar success rates.
In terms of starting donor egg cycle. You usually start on day 2/3, you are asked to get scanned here at around day 10 to check that your lining is coming up and then transfer mid cycle ish. So I think I started the lining protocol on the 30th August and had the transfer on 14th September. This will vary depending on your donor's response to stimms.
Where are you based in UK? Hopefully you ll have a local clinic that can perform the private scan and somewhere fairly close by for aqua scan if needed or decided. Are you doing this as a solo mama?

The AMH is a major pain in the arse. Mine was in a very similar place at the same age as you, and I expect its non existent now. I'm 41.5. Serum do offer own egg protocols for natural or natural supported cycles for poor responding women, but for both of these they only look to get that 1 golden egg, so it is a total gamble, so going straight to donor treatment I think is your best shot
Let me know if can be of further help. Good luck!

Everhopeful76 · 07/03/2018 09:02

Oh god, so behind on thread, haven't posted for ages. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Late great news. Must have been such a worry with the bleeding. Glad all is well. One day at a time.

TTC and LRD I experienced pain and clots with norethisterone. I identify with the raw liver analogy

Mandy great HCG level. Congrats

Everhopeful76 · 07/03/2018 09:06

Buttonmoon I hope you can be rematched with a new donor soon. Sounds like you ve had a nightmare. Where are you having treatment?

pickle162 · 07/03/2018 09:08

Welcome star-a couple of people used serum @StorkAhoy and @Everhopeful76 so might be worth asking them, hopefully they'll see this message and be able to offer some good advice
Good luck

ButtonMooooon · 07/03/2018 11:03

Starshine your story is very similar to mine, I am 41, AMH is less than 1, DS is 7 in June. We have been TTC for 5 and a half years. Although I have never managed to get pregnant again except with DS, bloody eggs to blame here too!!!!

Everhopeful we are using Care UK in Sheffield. Would it be wrong to ring them again and ask them to interview the donors who are potentially good matches for us first?? Grin

LRDtheFeministDragon · 07/03/2018 11:05

Hello ever. I was wondering how you were doing. Nice to hear. Smile

I sound like such a giant wuss knowing how much more medication lots of people on this thread are on, but it's my fourth day off gonal f and oh, my god, the relief! I just turn into a prickly ball of fury on it. It is actually making the TWW bearable, just the thought that I don't have to take it.
