Thats a good sign smith good luck for scan

pickle162 · 01/03/2018 13:12

Ooh yay Smith. Let us know how you get on with scan

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/03/2018 13:45

Thanks bear. I'm actually hoping it'll hold off for a couple of days, as if it's tomorrow or Saturday I'm out for this month (the clinic doesn't open on weekends). Still, just done one now and no line, so perhaps.

TinyPaws · 01/03/2018 15:05

Thanks pickle and LRD*

LRD fingers crossed the timings work out for you!

Mandy I think it’s probably ok as long as it’s not bright red and there’s not loads of it? Fingers still crossed for you!

Welcome back user1506254758. Sounds like you’ve got lots of decisions to make!

Good luck for your scan Smith.

I had my scan today, the good news is that 4 out of the 5 follicles >10mm have not grown at all, the bad news is that the one that has grown is still only 13.5mm (which is a surprise as the dominant follicle grew 3mm in a single day last cycle). So it’s another 2 stims and back for another scan in 2 days.

Disappointed as I’m off work next week and was hoping to book a last minute trip somewhere sunny! Should’ve known my ovaries would not be cooperative!

Mandy002 · 01/03/2018 16:54

Hi all...well....I caved! With the bleeding (which has gotten worse today) I was freaking out. I wish these weren't tainted with that but here's hoping at least one of the embies has dug in nice and tight! I contacted the clinic who said to take a 200mg pessary orally in the evening and keep doing the gel. Hopefully my progesterone is just low. I'm a pretty big person...16.5 stone and 6"1 so maybe I just needed a bit more 🙄

Mandy002 · 01/03/2018 16:57

So sorry your ovaries aren't playing ball @TinyPaws but fingers cross this will work for you now. Especially good news that the other follicles aren't growing though.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/03/2018 17:47

Ooh! That's looking hopeful mandy.

tiny, how frustrating! Sorry to hear. Hope the next scan is good news.

TinyPaws · 01/03/2018 19:13

Congrats Mandy fingers crossed it sticks!

Mandy002 · 01/03/2018 19:39

Thanks @LRDtheFeministDragon and @TinyPaws. My grandmother bled all through her pregnancy with my uncle to the point where she had no clue she was even pregnant. Here's hoping this is the same. Since pessary it seems to have slowed down and changed back to more brownish- sorry if that's TMI. Good luck all x

Bear1980 · 01/03/2018 20:01

Wow mandy can definitely see the line there congratulations 😀

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/03/2018 14:54

Minor rant: I am so fed up with our clinic never answering the damn phone! They always tell you to leave a message, and I can understand that and can understand them being busy, but I really hate spending hours wondering if they'll call back/whether they'll call back too late. Last Friday I left an answerphone message that they missed, so they didn't get in touch until Monday.

Currently waiting to get confirmation what to do tomorrow if I don't get a LH surge. 'Call us on Friday,' they said. Well, it's Friday, and I've been calling, and I left a message hours ago, and they're going home in an hour. Angry

Bear1980 · 02/03/2018 15:05

It's so frustrating when you need a question answered lrd. Hope you get through soon.

I keep thinking about people at my clinic these last few days because the weather has meant that everything is shut. It must be really stressful especially if you have already triggered for egg collection. They have tried to stay open as much as possible but its just not safe to travel. So glad I am not cycling yet.

Mandy002 · 02/03/2018 15:06

@LRDtheFeministDragon I feel your frustration! My consultant gave me her email address. If you manage to get ahold of them ask if you can have it. I found it was easier to get an answer that way as the reception would take 24hrs to get back to me.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/03/2018 15:11

Nope, they won't. We asked last year. It's really irritating and I've said to them before that it's unnecessarily stressful never knowing when they'll ring back.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/03/2018 16:55

Great. No replies to messages, no response from any of the numbers I could find.

So I'm sitting here with no idea whether I'm meant to take the trigger ovulation shot tomorrow (I think so?), and whether I will be able to get an appointment for insemination on Monday.

Sorry to rant here, but I am so fed up about this.

TinyPaws · 02/03/2018 17:47

LRD That's so frustrating. If you didn't mention your clinic was closed at weekends I'd think we were being treated at the same place - they always expect you to leave a message but you have no idea when they will call back (and I can't usually answer my mobile while at work). So stressful when your treatment depends upon a single phone call they may or may not make! I am not surprised you're fed up!

pickle162 · 02/03/2018 21:25

Wow Mandy huge congratulations, looks like a lovely line there. Have u retested today? I could have taken our shares in tests I did so many.

Ah lrd that is so hard, usually trigger is taken around 36hours before the actual iui so have they given any indication of times for Monday at all?
The not getting back to you just adds such extra stress to the already very stressful process

My first consultant appointment was jan last year where had to dig my car out to get there but the staff had made a valiant effort
To get in so didn't disrupt anyone but the snow was nada compared to this year but staff will do everything they can to get in as they will get how mega important it is

I've been housebound since Tuesday lunch time as my road is impassable and pavements are like ice rinks, can't risk falling over and hurting picklet....just praying for rain and a bit warmer as it's meant to do 🤞🏻

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/03/2018 22:33

Funny you say that, tiny, I had thought a few posts back that your clinic sounded awfully like mine! But thank you for the sympathy. It is annoying!

mandy - no, I couldn't get in touch at all, so no times for Monday. I will just have to ring up as early as possible Monday morning and hope they can do the IUI that day. I hope you're right that they'll see it as important.

Sorry to hear it's so bad out with you. Yes, definitely keep picklet safe! (What a cute nickname). But I can imagine how stir crazy you must be. DP was heavily pregnant last year in the snow, and I remember how worried I got.

Mandy002 · 03/03/2018 06:17

So sorry @LRDtheFeministDragon that really sucks but maybe if they've not bothered to get back in touch they might think you need a bit more cooking time? It would however be nice if they let you know.

Well ladies I think this might actually be it! Today is OTD so I did another test this morning half expecting the line to have disappeared thanks to all the blood and check it out! 😆🤔😬🤯🎉🎉

Bear1980 · 03/03/2018 08:21

mandy thats 3 strong lines yay 😀

pickle stay safe in this weather

LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/03/2018 10:15

Ooh, yes, that's proper positive there mandy! Smile Yay!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/03/2018 11:05

I'm overthinking here, but can anyone reassure me? Does anyone know how much notice a clinic might need to do an IUI with donor sperm? I tried my clinic on the off-change someone was in on Saturday on the wards, but I'm getting no reply. I have the trigger shot to take today, but then I would have to ring them up on Monday morning and hope they could do the IUI that day. They said to take the trigger shot today if I'd not had a natural LH surge, which I've not, but I'm just feeling really panicky about not getting an appointment on Monday, or them saying it's too short notice and they can't do it.

I realise this is a very minor deal in the scheme of things and waiting until next month isn't really a big issue - it just feels frustrating when I know there's one decent follicle and everything else looks good. And I've been waiting since last January when we first saw them!

Mandy002 · 03/03/2018 12:01

Sorry @LRDtheFeministDragon I wish I could give you better advice but I believe the trigger shot has to be taken at a very specific time. When I did it they told me at 1035pm so that the egg is available when they either go to get it or introduce the sperm. Is it worth going there today and see if they have a skeleton staff on or at least someone you can speak to? So sorry I can't be more help.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/03/2018 12:45

Nooo, don't apologise! You shouldn't be even thinking about me, you should be dancing round the room with your lovely positive sticks! Grin

When DP did her IUI (which was the same clinic, same level of stims) she didn't need to take the trigger at a particularly specific time, but you're right I should check. And you are helping, because just having someone make me feel I'm not being stupid to worry is actually very helpful.

Wonky35 · 03/03/2018 13:45

Is there any type of on call service at your clinic lrd? I had a phone number for emergencies? I think this would qualify.
