Tiny - what pickle says! I've found waiting one of the hardest bits so being able to go straight into the next treatment sounds like a good thing.

Mandy good luck for Thurs, good it can all go ahead

Still no AF for me, really annoyed with my body, esp as been having cramps since Sat and I don't normally get cramps until I actually bleed - my body is teasing me (or just confused, more likely)

Ttc2017 · 20/02/2018 21:40

So sorry tiny but glad u can go again this cycle think my clinic makes you wait a month :( after time feeling like it couldn't possibly drag any more iv actually lost track of my cycle this month and it's been lovely to not temp or be obsessing over ovulation sticks but now it's the time looming again for the dreaded baseline scan to see if I can go ahead or not this time x

TinyPaws · 20/02/2018 22:13

Thanks Turtle, pickle and TTC. I'm pleased to be able to proceed straight to another cycle and I think it's the right decision, I'm just a bit emotionally worn out! (That sounded more dramatic that I intended!)

Turtle and TTC hope your bodies cooperate and AF shows up soon!

I'm having a horrible period, heavier than usual and lots of cramps, feels like my body is sticking its middle finger up at me!

pickle162 · 21/02/2018 02:11

It's horrendously emotional, you know it's unlikely to happen 1st go but still you have this little ray of hope and then it's crushed....with the added bonus of all those extra hormones.
Af usually is worse when had the meds as they have built up the lining more
Mine weirdly wasn't but I'd been on the pill for around 10yrs without a period so was still a bit weak. My clinic don't allow back to back which I found hard as everyone else's seemed to allow this at the time but my clinic told me this at the start so had my head round it and there were def some emotional benefits that could deal with the loss (which is what it feels like) but like tlc says I didn't have to worry about tracking anything/meds/temperatures and I found I actually needed the gap
I found the iui procedure itself very very painful so was able to see the clinic support counsellor to help me put some coping strategies together which really helped so was in a much better head space before and after
Sorry rambling now, wishing you (& everyone else on tww/waiting to go again etc) the best of luck for this round

Mandy002 · 21/02/2018 13:21

Hi girls- quick question...I have had a lot of discharge from the 200mg pessaries sorry if that's TMI. Is this normal? I'm only asking because I don't want to be loosing any of the medication. Also this is the first day it's been this bad...I'm making a point of laying down for 1/2 hour after inserting it as I was sure that should solve the problem....🤔

pickle162 · 21/02/2018 14:34

I didn't have them but from what the other ladies have discussed on here, yes. It can be quite a messy business, some wore pads so that underwear wasn't ruined
Best of luck for tomorrow, when is your flight?

Mandy002 · 21/02/2018 15:13

My flight is on Saturday. That should be long enough to not adversely affect the embies shouldn't it? Do you know what you can safely do after transfer day? I'm just curious is a bit of walking\sightseeing should deffo be out of the picture?

Pez82 · 21/02/2018 15:24

Hi Mandy,
You can pretty much resume your normal activities after transfer - unless your normal activities are rock climbing and doing hand stands of course!
I took a long walk after my transfer and was on a long train journey the day after (I actually felt the first twinges from implantation while on the train). Just remember to drink and eat warm foods only, no hot water bottle on tummy and keep your feet warm and all will be fine 😊 A high protein low carb diet is also recommended the days following transfer.

Mandy002 · 22/02/2018 15:32

Thanks @Pez82. It went well...the fasting/sedation didn't really agree with me. So had to stay longer cause felt a bit faint. They said both lining and placement were perfect and they were both A grade blasts - whatever that means? I keep having twinges but I'm sure that must be too early for anything like implantation. Hope everyone else is doing well with their cycles.

Pez82 · 22/02/2018 15:44

That's great news Mandy! When embryos reach the blastocyst stage (normally on day 5), the embryologist is able to grade them. They give a grade for what is the baby cells and another for the placenta cells. Grade A is the highest grade so all looking good! The baby on the playmat in front of me was a 4BB embryo. 4 means the blastocyst is fully expanded but the ones they transferred today could have been 5 (hatching) or even 6 (fully hatched) in which case they could start implanting as early as tonight!!

Lots of positive thoughts!!!

TinyPaws · 22/02/2018 19:20

Glad all went well Mandy x

I'm on leave for 2 weeks yay, plodding on with the injections. I'm getting quite good at them now!

pickle162 · 23/02/2018 07:32

Glad it went well Mandy, sounds really positive
Best on luck Tiny

Mandy002 · 23/02/2018 11:43

Thanks all for the well wishes. Now the TWW begins...analysing every twinge. 😂

TurtleTree · 23/02/2018 19:31

Good luck Mandy. So exciting for you.

AF has finally arrived - yay! I'm supposed to start the Progynova on day 3. Am wondering if today is definitely day 1 considering AF started in the eve? Or should it be tomorrow. Can't believe I forgot to clarify this with the clinic. Not sure whether to start Progynova on Sun or Mon. Or rather than starting Sun morning, I could take first one Sun eve. Advice please!

Wonky35 · 23/02/2018 21:40

Good news regarding af turtle! Seems like things are finally happening. Wasn’t there an on call nurse for the clinic? I think I would try calling the on call number tomorrow morning to clarify and hopefully someone will answer. Or did the paperwork say the on call was only for during the week?

TurtleTree · 23/02/2018 21:53

They have a weekend number but they say it's for emergencies only. Not sure this qualifies...

Wonky35 · 23/02/2018 22:01

They will be paid to be on call. Just phone tomorrow morning and apologise for disturbing them. It is an emergency for you and you don’t want to get things wrong when you have waited so long. It will only take 1 minute for them to answer your question.

Wonky35 · 23/02/2018 22:05

Plus it won’t be as annoying as me! They had to open the entire clinic on a Saturday as I ended up having a day 2 transfer.

ButtonMooooon · 23/02/2018 23:02

Hi guys

Haven't posted in a while but been trying to keep up with the thread

I am meh about everything at the minute. Matched with egg donor in October and still no further on. Had a conversation tonight with DH about asking the clinic where we'd stand pulling out of this donor and going back on the list

I already feel like an older Mum with DS who is 6 so I am conscious of feeling even older next time. I just feel the donor is going to back out Sad

Wonky35 · 24/02/2018 16:41

Sorry to hear about this button. It must be so disappointing to think you are going to start treatment then just have to wait with no end in sight. Waiting from October is taking the piss though. Have you been given a reason for the delay? I would definitely be putting pressure on and asking for a date when things are going to get started or I would start looking for another donor. Are there other potential donors available or would you have to be put back on a waiting list?

TurtleTree · 24/02/2018 17:42

Thanks Wonky, gave them a call and the nurse said to start Mon. At least I'm not just guessing.

That must be so frustrating Button. Have they said why? I was a donor as part of my cycle and once I had been matched with a recipient things just got moving. There's enough waiting in this process without hanging about with no updates. Like Wonky said I would definitely be challenging the clinic on this.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 24/02/2018 19:11

Waiting around is horrible, button, sorry. Sad

LRDtheFeministDragon · 24/02/2018 19:12

I was wondering if anyone who's done/doing medicated IUI could advise me? My cycle is a bit irregular atm (desperately trying to synch with DP's, I suspect), and this last one was 24 days. Would I need to ask them for a slightly earlier first scan, do you think? It'd normally be day 7-8.

ButtonMooooon · 24/02/2018 21:09

Initially they said they wanted to get consent forms signed by Christmas to start early new year. I rang up before Christmas as we hadn't heard anything and they said the delays were on their part. They rang first week of January to say the donor wasn't in a position to start until end of January and last thing I heard was 3 weeks ago when they were starting to do something to donor regarding her cycle and it would be about 2 weeks.

Reading it back I can't believe we've waited so long. The problem is she's a perfect match for me and is tall whereas the average UK woman is apparently 4 inches shorter than me. I will ring on Monday and see what's going on

We still haven't even signed the consent forms Sad

LRDtheFeministDragon · 24/02/2018 21:41

Does she need to be a perfect match for you or the same height? I mean, I follow why it would be good, but this seems a long time to be messing you around/ not in proper contact.
