Thanks bear1980, yea I think it’s just me being hyper-aware because I’m hoping that there is something going on in there! I’m a very impatient person and the tww is already killing me lol

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/02/2018 12:16

Grin Thanks pickle!

And thanks wonky, ttc and smith. The forum I got my bad news from isn't anything to do with babies - it's just how the conversation went, so it blindsided me a bit. This is the only place I talk about TTC!

But, we went, and I do feel better now as they were really nice and didn't make any fuss about us trying IUI again, and I have meds to put in the fridge, so even if it's nearly a month before I'm due, I feel a bit less in limbo. Now I can focus on eating really healthily for that month! Anyone want to share tips?

Ttc2017 · 01/02/2018 12:58

Glad it went well Lrd I'm interested for healthy tips to figured I could try to lose bit of weight whilst waiting.

Anyone had experience of polyps and having them removed and how long it takes etc do you have to wait certain amount of time after to ttc
Also how long can these meds last in fridge had mine over a month and if I need treatment it could be months before I use them? X

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/02/2018 13:17

Gonal F (which is what I'm on) goes out of date fairly soon. Annoying, cos we wasted around £100 of it that we got last June. I am trying not to add up costs.

TinyPaws · 01/02/2018 13:37

Good news LRD! So you are good to go on your next cycle?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/02/2018 13:41

Seems so! The bloods are still in date from last summer. I'm definitely not counting my chickens, though, since there's a pretty high chance either of another cyst or of too many immature follicles (since I have PCOS). But it's progress.

Ttc2017 · 01/02/2018 14:22

It's horrible isn't it I never really realised how hard it would be and how many hurdles there would be along they way before we can even get onto the injections or the start line :( I've got a scan with a private clinic tomorrow for second opinion on my suspected polyp as if it is one I would like it removed asap and hear they need to be done near beginning of cycle. My cycles are so long I don't want to wait another two months for that and then again to try start ttc.

Smith from what iv read online cramping is normal after iui try to think of it as you are pregnant until proved otherwise at the moment (easier said than done I know!) hopefully the next two weeks will fly by for you and I'm crossing my fingers for you x

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/02/2018 15:34

I feel ok about it at the moment, but I felt really depressed last summer as the delay meant (so we understood at the time) that we'd lose the chance to use the same sperm donor we used with our DD. I am full of awe at some of the posters on this thread who keep on going through so much waiting, being messed around, waiting, waiting some more. I don't know what I'd do without this thread to come and vent on!

Good luck with the clinic tomorrow!

Smithguy86 · 01/02/2018 18:08

Good luck tomorrow tlc!
I have a quick but maybe stupid question if I was to get pregnant would my due day be from the day of the IUI or my last period?

TinyPaws · 01/02/2018 19:40

LRD hopefully everything will come together for you this time!

Smith I think it’s either from LMP or from IUI minus 14 days until dating scan, then at dating scan they will calculate a new date according to how developed baby is at the dating scan.

TTC hope your scan tomorrow goes well.

I’ve got my first scan tomorrow since I started taking stims. I feel a bit bloated and twingy so hopefully that means something’s happening in there (but not too much!). Paranoid that I’ll either grow no follicles at all and be told I’m infertile or end up with OHSS and unable to proceed. I’ve started using calming visualisations and mindfulness practices to try to stop myself overthinking so much! What will be will be.

PurpleTrees1988 · 01/02/2018 20:32

I'm just curious, what's the youngest age they'd allow someone to have a sperm donation?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/02/2018 20:41

smith, it'll be from your last period. It is (oddly) totally normal for them to ignore the IUI date, and some people even end up with a 'due date' that means it was completely impossible for them to have conceived when the numbers say they did!

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/02/2018 20:42

Oh, sorry - I meant to say, too, thanks tiny. I hope so too. Smile

purple, I believe it's 18.

pickle162 · 01/02/2018 21:18

Yes lrd they totally come up with some crazy dates for me. I was like I KNOW when I conceived, no question whatsoever. Thankfully I had my clinic scan info that said due date and my 13weeks nhs scan confirmed that- I was like phew

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/02/2018 21:38
Grin

I know someone who went right through her pregnancy having apparently conceived a whole 13 day before her IUI. Her baby was born at 'term' weighing a perfectly normal 'term' weight, but she's still convinced he was basically 2 weeks prem, because she does actually know!

It is bonkers, isn't it?

kwick · 02/02/2018 08:04

Um @PurpleTrees1988 Are you new to the thread? Sorry if not - my memory is shot -if you are that was a bit of a random question Confused

PurpleTrees1988 · 02/02/2018 10:38

I am, yeah. Sorry, I thought it was better than making a new post.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/02/2018 10:50

What are you wondering about?

kwick, I guess some fertility-related things do have age limits? I know people whose doctors won't sterilise them because they're too young. I suppose it's not illogical someone might patronise single women by saying 'ooh, don't do donor sperm, you might meet someone'?

TinyPaws · 02/02/2018 13:06

Had my scan today. Right ovary multiple small follicles all smaller than 10mm but none that looked like they were going to do anything interesting. Left ovary one dominant follicle 15mm and another follicle 11mm that "might do something". I'm to come back in tomorrow, they think I probably won't be ready to trigger until Monday but as this is my first cycle want to play it safe in case it grows quickly (clinic isn't open on Sundays). Likely IUI date if things continue to progress well Wednesday. Weekend plans thrown into disarray by tomorrow's appointment but so happy things are progressing more or less as expected that I don't really mind.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 02/02/2018 13:09

Ooh, that sounds very hopeful! Good luck for tomorrow.

TinyPaws · 02/02/2018 13:17

Thanks LRD

I forgot to add, lining 8.4mm which is apparently good at this point in my cycle - nurse said it was "thickening up nicely".

pickle162 · 02/02/2018 18:45

Sounds really positive tiny let us know how you get on with your next few scans

Smithguy86 · 03/02/2018 11:04

Good luck today tinypaws!
I have to take a shot of ovitrelle on Tuesday 6 days after my IUI, does anyone know how long it takes to leave your system I don’t want to test early and still have the ovitrelle in my system!

TinyPaws · 03/02/2018 11:50

IUI booked for tuesday, eek! I'm to take another stim this evening then my trigger shot tomorrow night. The second follicle was still only 11mm but the dominant one had grown to almost 18mm. Think my chances are a bit lower with only 1 big follicle but presumably risk of multiples also lower. Really hoping my partner's boss will give her time off work so she can be there with me.

@Smith According to this link ovitrelle can interfere with pregnancy tests for "up to ten days" www.medicines.org.uk/emc/medicine/14386

LRDtheFeministDragon · 03/02/2018 11:54

Our clinic won't do IUI with two big follicles, FWIW, because the risk of multiples is too high. I know some clinics will - but our clinic gets really good results, so perhaps it doesn't make so much difference.

Anyway, how exciting! Best of luck for Tuesday.
