Smoking weed

Ok..... I smoke marijuana, never around my kids but when they are in bed. I've been invited to stay at families house before with my 2 children (4 and 5 now) and it's always been a bit of a military operation if I want to smoke on an evening. My family drink and I don't, so whilst they unwind with a few drinks I like to have a smoke. Do you think they would understand this considering I don't drink, one family member used to smoke weed, and they all know why I can't drink. Am I being out of order expecting my 30 something family members will understand.... or do I just keep hiding it with e tea string mints and bad Avon perfume??

I am fully aware of the countries it is legal Fanny I have already said I think cannabis should be legalised in the UK.

What I do not agree with is those that kid themselves it is harm free and then call those that choose not to smoke it names like crazy cat lady and accuse others of being uptight because they disagree with an illegal drug.
Oh and the "you just need a joint to chill you out" line. Its gross makes you sound scummy.....dont do it.

PersianCatLady · 05/08/2017 18:30

Why are they still referred to as legal highs then?
Officially, they are now referred to as New Psychoactive Substances (NPS)

Why do people still refer to the DWP as the DSS or DHSS?

Why do people say A & E instead of Emergency Department?

Says the pp who's already had a comment deleted, wind your neck in love

Yes I was deleted for calling a poster rude for their name calling of Persian it was worth it quite frankly.

I dont suppose it is possible to reason with druggies and criminals so I am clearly wasting my time.
Each to their own but at least have the conviction to admit that your need to get high is more important than the lives which are ruined by the dealers who supply your drugs.

I do like the staff at my Numark though, dont think theyve knowingly ruined anyones life tbh

PersianCatLady · 06/08/2017 09:21

WTF are you talking about Please see my last point about your imagination

BossaDad

I am sorry I said this to you.

I had confused you and the OP and I thought that it was you who was smoking weed every night.

You have NEVER said that you do or in which circumstances you may do, so I apologise again for asking you that question.

Thanks

PersianCatLady · 06/08/2017 09:23

Any time.

Firstly because you are breaking the law you will have dodgy people hanging about - no one you want around kids anyway.
It is extremely bad for your lungs.
It can make you forgetful, and dull, so you won't be so switched on as a mum.
It makes you hungry.
It smells of old BO.
Very strong stuff is associated with lethargy and sometimes paranoia. Not good when in charge of children.

madentitlement · 06/08/2017 17:48

Dodgy people? You mean other weed smokers? Yes we're all soooo dodgy. Hmmon the plus side I can always rely on Mumsnet for some fairly dated responses.

MajesticWhine · 07/08/2017 00:04

Dodgy people - perhaps she means drug dealers? Which is a fair point.

LoniceraJaponica · 07/08/2017 08:11

Interestingly all the weed smokers on here are very defensive and snippy with their replies.

Of course Ktown is referring to the dealers Hmm

JustAnotherPoster00 · 07/08/2017 11:06

Interestingly all the non weed smokers on here seem to be using outdated/discredited evidence and sources while relying heavily on hyperbole and insults.

LineBot · 07/08/2017 11:14

I'm not a weed smoker but I'm pretty relaxed about it. I certainly think it should be decriminalised, as do the vast majority of police officers who regard policing personal use, personal possession and small sales a waste of their time.

LoniceraJaponica · 07/08/2017 12:12

Not all non smokers Just.

In fact I agree with Linebot. If it was decriminalised it would be regulated and people wouldn't get involved with shady dealers. The police can then concentrate their limited resources on more serious crimes.
