The prices dropped a tiny bit (if you were on the price cap), but my energy bill was still £92. Interested to see how much other people's was, considering it should be one of the lowest months of the year.

£57 total, £12 of that was gas. Three bed semi, two bedroom semi, midlands, two adults, both retired. Gas heating (not been on) and hot water, electric cooking. Dishwasher, washing machine, no TV, no tumble drier, rarely used laptops/tablets.

ssd · 01/08/2023 21:23

£119

Cannotthinkofanametoday · 01/08/2023 21:26

Electric only in the warmer months. £135 that includes all our water heating and cooking.

spacechimp79 · 01/08/2023 21:26

@AvengedQuince yes you’re totally right. No idea how my brain calculated those figures. It was £51 electricity and £9 gas.

BMW6 · 01/08/2023 21:26

Gas £15, Electric £57

My Octopus quote is 30.72p/kWh
My current OVO price is 29.25p/kWh

Tequilamockinbird · 01/08/2023 21:34

Electric £63
Gas £43
4 bed semi and only DH and I living here, I WFH.

Soulstirring · 01/08/2023 21:34

£15.99 gas, £37.21 electric. We are 4 bed home with 2 kids, 2 adults. We have solar panels and are still on a fixed rate. I’m dreading it when the tariff goes up

Octopus night rates are at 7.5p per kWh against OVO's charging anytime rate of 10p per kWh. Our recommendation is OVO works if you can only charge during the day, otherwise it looks like Octopus Intelligent will bring more households greater savings.

£180 electric only.. Family of 6 in 4 bed detached house. Washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer on every day.

ohtowinthelottery · 01/08/2023 21:48

£40 - which is up from the previous month due to the miserable weather meaning that the solar panels didn't generate as much electricity.

DancingLedgend · 01/08/2023 21:50

?
Charge what now?

Are you talking about EVs?

I don't charge anything, I just use as little kWh as I can

SlowlyLosing · 01/08/2023 21:55

Omg what is going on in my house?

Electricity is consistently £180ish summer and winter. Gas currently £50 just hot water and about £150 when including heating.

3 bed semi, 3 adults.

Wash and dry probably 5 loads a week. Otherwise I don't think we have anything unusual using electricity. Does that sound wrong?

Donut22 · 01/08/2023 21:56

Gas 60 electric 104 brand new 3build house...

LynetteScavo · 01/08/2023 22:01

£169

£146 Electricity and £23 Gas.

DH works from home. I might ban him from drinking tea, as the kettle is probably responsible for most of the electricity use.

boxbaby · 01/08/2023 22:02

£100 80 on Electric and 20 on Gas. The supplier wants us to pay £150 a month to help balance payments over the winter. We have a 2 bed house and we both work from home so do use a fair bit of electric.

bunchofboys · 01/08/2023 22:05

£100. Octopus tracker. I did £900 in January.

Songbird54321 · 01/08/2023 22:09

£50 electric, £22 gas. We're with octopus, have been on a fixed rate for almost 2 years so price hikes haven't hit us yet. Dreading September when it ends.
Our monthly DD is £130 so we're plenty in credit thankfully.

SleepingStandingUp · 01/08/2023 22:13

£144 total. 3 bed house, 3 kids. 612. kWh

lastminutewednesday · 01/08/2023 22:15

190 quid. Still
Massive but down from 480 so thankful

NeedSleepNow · 01/08/2023 22:15

£40 electricity
£10 gas

1 adult, 3 children, 1940s semi, I fixed my energy rates shortly before all of the price rises so my bills are quite low compared.

Scottishskifun · 01/08/2023 22:15

£65 electric £18 gas family of 4 in an old cottage.
But heating has been off since May so only hot water for the gas.

NothingWrongButTheFire · 01/08/2023 22:16

£180 gas and electric.

CaveMum · 01/08/2023 22:17

£165 gas and electric. 4 bed detached, 2 adults, 2 primary school aged children. DH works from home 4 days a week and I work from home 2 days a week.

IhaveanewTVnow · 01/08/2023 22:20

£90. About the same as it was 2 years ago in the winter when the heating was on most of the day. £90 for July - no hearing, hot water on 2 hrs a day and electricity. It’s really not good and we are being taken for a ride.
