How much was your July energy bill?

The prices dropped a tiny bit (if you were on the price cap), but my energy bill was still £92. Interested to see how much other people's was, considering it should be one of the lowest months of the year.

£28 gas
£143 electricity

4 bed detached with 2 adults and 2 teens

We were away for 1 week of July too

Elsiebear90 · 01/08/2023 19:33

£87 which I thought was very high considering we haven’t put the heating on once, there’s only two of us here and we work full time out of the house. Dread to think what it’s going to be in the winter.

Bowlplatesoupandroll · 01/08/2023 19:33

£88 (which was £23 less than June).
3 teenagers, one adult in a 4 bed 1930s semi.

HopelessEstateAgents · 01/08/2023 19:39

£150

4 bed semi, 4 of us. Includes limited electric car charging though

Shadesofscarlett · 01/08/2023 19:44

£59 - Octopus Tracker tariff - saves a fortune.

KateJohns · 01/08/2023 19:45

£43 electric
£22 gas

Hugasauras · 01/08/2023 19:46

£123. Electricity was £97 and gas was £26. This was our first month on Octopus Agile for electricity and tracker tariff for gas and it almost halved our monthly bill.

fantom · 01/08/2023 19:47

£92!! Single person household though with some Airbnb guests.
surprisingly high.

AutumnCrow · 01/08/2023 19:48

Fuck knows.

Hugasauras · 01/08/2023 19:48

Oh and we are family of four in a four-bed. High electricity users generally.

Tetchypants · 01/08/2023 19:49

£101 elec and £16 gas.

Been paying £300 a month since November and they’ve just dropped my DD to £230, I’d like to build up plenty of credit for the coming winter so I might increase it again in a few weeks.

Spectre8 · 01/08/2023 19:53

Averaging £90 and I'm on svr. Single person house. I've still be paying £150 on direct debit so built up a really nice amount as a buffer for winter already.

Will be full time in the office once cold kicks in cos I noticed a big difference in how much less I spent wfh

At the moment when I've been in the office vs wfh I notice a 50p difference and thats cos of electricity from charging work laptop, using kettle more, cooking lunch.

In winter it was £1 an hr to heat the house so I just went back to the office rather than spend too much at home

MavisChunch29 · 01/08/2023 19:54

£65 Gas and £150 Electric. I don't know how the hell we use so much gas with just gas stove and hot water - no heating on at the moment.

whatthejuice · 01/08/2023 19:57

£136 combined. Detached 4 bed. Quite happy with that. But already putting money aside for winter

Hummusanddipdip · 01/08/2023 19:58

Couldn't tell you, I've set my dd up at 260, which is over and above what we need our account is in good credit and I'll just keep paying that every month to keep the credit building for winter.

Autumnbreeze84 · 01/08/2023 20:00

£82 electricity and £53 gas. Haven’t had the heating on once and boiler on for hot water once per day. 2 bed terrace with 2 adults 1 child. We will no doubt be going without heating in winter again if these prices stay at current level. It was very hard last year but we made it through with at least three layers on, a hot water bottle each and electric blankets at night.

I'm also on this tariff - savings are huge!

July was £21 gas (cooker + hot water combi boiler) and £50 electric for plugs, lights etc.

4 people, 3 storey house. We also had 2 guests for 2 weeks.

I have saved so much since joining this tariff.

NatalieH2220 · 01/08/2023 20:10

£95 electric
£13 gas

3 bed semi, family of 4.

AvengedQuince · 01/08/2023 20:16

£61
Electric £43
Gas £18

BillyBraggisnotmylover · 01/08/2023 20:19

£43.50 electric, £18 gas for June. 2 adults WFH, 2 kids, 3 bed 1930s semi. Locked our rate October 21 just before things went mad, hoping they return to some kind of normal by this October when we have to sign up for a new tariff.

That's very high for gas without heating, are you sure everything is correct?

spacechimp79 · 01/08/2023 20:20

July bill was £60. Approx £57 electricity and £3 gas. Were away for a week though so I think it would have been more like £70/75 if not.

Don't you have standing charges? My gas standing charge was about £8.50 on its own before any usage.
