How much was your July energy bill?

The prices dropped a tiny bit (if you were on the price cap), but my energy bill was still £92. Interested to see how much other people's was, considering it should be one of the lowest months of the year.

£65 Gas and £150 Electric. I don't know how the hell we use so much gas with just gas stove and hot water - no heating on at the moment.

I'd say something has to be wrong, do the gas units (ft3 or m3) used on your bill match your meter? That's what I paid for gas in the winter with the heating on.

Duchessofspace · 01/08/2023 20:33

£45 electricity and £32 gas.

we are so light on everything though, no heating etc we hang dry everything. Rarely use lights.

even the bath water gets used to water the plants.

DancingLedgend · 01/08/2023 20:35

£49.75
No gas
Electric shower, cooking, washing machine.

2 adults
2 laptops, no gaming.

MintJulia · 01/08/2023 20:41

£50 electric
£18.50 gas

4 bed detached, one adult, one teen.

Thanks for the heads up on that Tracker - I've been with Octopus for a while but that tracker tariff looks like a no-brainer in the current climate.

If anyone else is thinking of switching, you can get £50 credit if you use my referral link:

are these figures per week? During the winter I payed aprox 200 for a 2 bed flat.

Autumnbreeze84 · 01/08/2023 20:57

Unfortunately yes. Gas is for the cooker and boiler (both very old & not efficient as rented accommodation). It’s heart breaking.

How long is your hot water on for? I've cut ours to 1 hour per day and that's enough for us as our showers are electric and we don't have baths often.

doitwithlove · 01/08/2023 21:00

£80 for gas & electric. Didn't think that was to bad

DancingLedgend · 01/08/2023 21:01

Thanks @jadeashen , but that's 1.47p more /Kwhr than I'm paying with OVO.

Daffodilgrass · 01/08/2023 21:01

£69, but we've been on a fixed rate since before the prices went up. It's just coming to an end, so goodness knows what it will be this winter.

Autumnbreeze84 · 01/08/2023 21:03

Same here, just one hour in the morning.

AuntieMarys · 01/08/2023 21:03

£93 all together for gas and electricity

holls8 · 01/08/2023 21:07

£79 combined. We are with octopus and have a smart meter. 3 bed semi. Last month was £96. Very pleased with that!

Ladyoftheknight · 01/08/2023 21:10

£358 electric, no gas. 4 children, 2 adults in a 7 bed. Expected it to be higher as we had heating on a bit last month. Much lower than June and April though.

Usernameunknownfornow · 01/08/2023 21:11

People are posting their July bill, not what they pay by direct debit as some of that would be towards winter as well.

crew2022 · 01/08/2023 21:14

£110 (£77 electricity and £33 gas). Two of us in a four bed detached both work from home, one load of washing five days out of seven, rarely tumble dry in the summer. I was pleased with this as it's been really high even in June.

SquashPenguin · 01/08/2023 21:15

£56 in total

goldcheese · 01/08/2023 21:15

£41 elec (£12 of that was standing charge) and £15 gas (£8 of it was standing charge)
I was away for 10 days of July with everything but the fridge turned off, but I did have more laundry to do when I was home.
