How much was your July energy bill?

popgoesthecat2 · 01/08/2023 19:29

The prices dropped a tiny bit (if you were on the price cap), but my energy bill was still £92. Interested to see how much other people's was, considering it should be one of the lowest months of the year.

Sorry wrong thread

cryinglaughing · 04/08/2023 05:22

Rural property, electric only.
We got paid £30 for the solar generated electric we sold back to the grid.

Selfesteem23 · 04/08/2023 07:20

Our actual usage was £48 the ridiculous standing charges completed the bill at £74. Last month £84 ( June) Three bed semi two adults one WFH.

We’ve kept our direct debit at £130 to build a little credit back for winter. We do have low heating in winter and it still cost us a lot more than it used to.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 04/08/2023 08:49

With SO Energy, happy with this.

Last Statement23 Jun 2023 - 22 Jul 2023

Gas Charges£18.27
Electricity Charges£50.50
VAT Charges (5%)£3.43
Total £72.20

CoffeandTiaMaria · 04/08/2023 08:51

Two retired people, here most of the day 😊

ditalini · 04/08/2023 09:02

(All electric)
£110 which is £52 more than the previous year, for slightly fewer units than the previous year.

£21 is standing charge.

This is my lowest month of the year. My usage is the lowest it's been in the 4 years I've been recording but we were away for a week.

Charcol · 04/08/2023 11:06

Our is paid monthly fixed. it hasnt yet changed, and i doubt it will tbh.
£240 combined for gas & eletric

What was your usage though?
I pay a fixed amount too but last months usage was less than that

Qilin · 04/08/2023 11:15

4 bed end townhouse. 2 adults living here at the moment (sometimes 3 depending on where dd is) and we have two fully electric cars

Our last statement is 10 Jun - 10 July

Electrify: 152.98
Gas: £73.59
So total of 226.57

We've been paying dd of £395 for ages. We are in credit at the moment by nearly £500 but leaving it as it is for now as don't know what it'll be like over the winter.
We spend a lot more on more electricity and gas over the winter, especially as we need to charge the cars more over the colder months,

We are currently with E.On but they've disabled their EV tariff since the energy prices rose and still not brought it back, so considering moving to a company which does have an EV tariff at some point,

Qilin · 04/08/2023 11:19

Actually scratch that - just had an email to say E.on EV tariff is back. So I need to investigate.

Needcoffeeimmediatley · 04/08/2023 12:58

£96 elec and £35 gas
2 adults 1 child, not had the heating on and have solar panels!

Bumply · 04/08/2023 20:10

£72 for gas and electric.
Down hugely from Mar/Aor before my two lads moved out. Just me now.

Standing charge was £26 + vat, so less than £50 of actual usage.

ivykaty44 · 05/08/2023 12:59

£82 for electric and gas for the month. Im paying £200 direct debit so its building up a bit of the winter months. I will be around £400 in credit by September 1st

MucozadeOnLucozade · 05/08/2023 23:46

£0 for electricity since installed solar panels. Can now run entire house off it if careful!

Cotswoldbee · 06/08/2023 09:27

Our actual usage was £70 G&E.
Full-time at home.
Happy with that, our DD more than covers it and there is a good bit of surplus on account.

Spinningjenny23 · 06/08/2023 09:35

£120 for both ( mostly electricity, gas is only used for water heating and a bit of cooking in summer). Small 2 bedroom bungalow. A large percentage of that is the standing charge. Still, as long as those nice men in charge of these amazing companies can have their six figure bonuses it's all so worth it.

BLT24 · 06/08/2023 17:31

4 bed detached with 2 adults. Not had heating on since April. I am at home every day with tv on, husband wfh 3 days. Not careful to switch things off.

We are British Gas standard variable

8th May - 8th July £550

SophiaElise · 06/08/2023 17:33

Mine was £64 (£56 electricity, £8 gas)

Still on an old fixed tarriff!

daffodilandtulip · 06/08/2023 21:56

£46 electricity
£13 gas

daffodilandtulip · 06/08/2023 21:58

That's 3 bed, 3 storey house with me and two teens, and I wfh.

SlippySarah · 06/08/2023 22:04

£64 total but most of that is standing charges because I have solar panels and gas is only used for minimal hot water use. The standing charges pissarro need off because because you can be as "green" or as frugal as you like but they still get their money out of you.

SlippySarah · 06/08/2023 22:05

*piss me off
Not sure what happened there!

MotherOfCatBoy · 06/08/2023 22:09

£42. Solar panels (includes charging the car). Gas heating is off so only using a little gas for showers and cooking. Bill mostly standing charges and VAT. Ecotricity.
Very different story in winter. 3/4 bed Victorian terrace with high ceilings and under floor cavities.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 06/08/2023 22:31

£18. Solar panels, combi boiler and a 2 year fixed deal that's coming to an end. Standing charges will be doubling for us soon, so that's the last of our crazily cheap bills.

Kosima · 06/08/2023 23:52

Thanks for this thread, I’ve been dreading my fixed deal coming to an end in November but most of these amounts don’t sound too bad at all!

I usually pay £70 a month for electric and about £5 for gas with EDF. That’s for 2 adults and a child in a 2 bed newbuild, one adult at home using their computer most of the time.
