Such a lovely day here today the weather is beautiful.
Brought some clothes today from tesco 3 tshirts for husband a top a dress some leggings and a coverup for about £40.
Found VE day very emotional today seeing the fly pass and Prince Charles and camilla laying their wreaths damn hormones!

Rainb0w · 08/05/2020 18:26

Does anyone know if you can get the childcare element of tax credits if you only get child tax credit? Or do you need to get WTC to get the childcare element?

SnugglySnerd · 08/05/2020 21:09

Hi Meadow! Good to see you!

Bornlazy · 08/05/2020 23:03

Happy Birthday Unescorted so many Lockdown birthdays that’ll need celebrating again once we are allowed out more.

Sea can you not make caster sugar from normal sugar? I’m sure you can using a food processor or even a plastic bag and a rolling pin. Says someone who’s never actually done this.

Working the weekend so need to try and get to sleep soon. Almost looking forward to work and having bit of normal interaction with people. Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Oh and nsd today thankfully.

ememem84 · 09/05/2020 07:57

Up early with the dc. Ds tried to tell me a joke I think.

“Mummy what’s the magic word?”
“Toilet!” Dissolved Into fits of giggles.

We’ve been trying to encourage please after asking for things. And dh asks him what the magic word is......

Catface is rolling around in the dust in the garden.shell be on our bed soon enough.

Riding today. £32. But that’s it.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Born I am going to milk it... a small just out of lockdown one and each time it get a little more relaxed there will be another one.

em that is too cute.

Hiya meadow it is lovely to see you.

wolf I am so looking forward to going to the Asian Supermarkets again. It pains me to pay an arm and a leg for 2 pinches of cumin seeds when I know I can get a bulk bag for less. You have given me an idea for keeping myself occupied when the weather turns tomorrow.... re shuffle the spice cupboard. I need to make up more Chaat Masala mix (we use buckets of the stuff), Finish working through making my collection of spice mixes from around the world (instant stay at home travel) and transfer to jars the half bags of things (The girls Jam addiction makes this possible).

Today is more garden & shop

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/05/2020 09:30

Yes your can born. Just wizz granulated down a bit. Worst case you can use icing sugar instead.

Hey meadow, don't know sorry.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/05/2020 09:33

Got to drop off mil shopping today. Will pop to my DM and make sure she is ok too as dB is shielded.
Then a bit of weeding this afternoon. Need to get summer stuff from lift as I've been too hot in a night.

Unescorted · 09/05/2020 09:57

meadow this is the gov.uk page for tax credits it has a calculator which might give the answer.

SnugglySnerd · 09/05/2020 10:57

Sorry Unescorted I missed that it was your birthday yesterday. To be honest I'd probably had a bit too much to drink by the time I checked in last night. We got a bit carried away with the sunny weather! I like your plan to keep on celebrating it though!

Just been to get yet more fruit for us and some things for my mum. Also bought ice cream to make the most of the nice weather today as I think it's meant to turn colder tomorrow.

LaneBoy · 09/05/2020 11:24

Hi meadow! (I have name changed but still call the DCs Caglets :o)

I am definitely now a Lockdown Dick, I started my first FutureLearn course the other day 😅

Need to pay for therapy today (it’s on Tuesday via zoom). Really excited for the session as planning to talk about work etc. When I first met her (July) all that stuff was a no go area so I’m quite pleased.

MeadowHay · 09/05/2020 12:39

Thanks Unescorted will have a try later.

Hi everyone Smile. Happy belated birthday Unescorted.

Today is likely to be an NSD. We are planning to go to a park late afternoon once DD emerges from the nap she's about to have. Lockdown is very boring, I cannot wait to be able to move about more freely and do more.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/05/2020 14:11

£8 on Aldi on lunch milk and oddments for mil. £30 back from her for shopping, £2.35 voucher for Sainsbury's subs price difference to knock off next shop

Mrsmadevans · 09/05/2020 16:50

Afternoon everyone 🌞 Beautiful day here
Bobs has buggered his washing machine up, so l have taken over doing it . It's a very odd set up down the garage he has to turn the water on and off , the drainage goes down to the riverbank according to Bob ??? WTH is that all about . It's not easy to do anything there it's all botched , what is it about the elderly and the botched d.i.y jobs they have done , or do themselves, my Dad was exactly the same Hmm. The washing was dreadful. Blood stains and worse all over it. Put it this way l put it on a 4 hr intensive wash 90 degree and it still has not got the stains out. Before l did his washing l think his wife directed Bob to do it, [poor bgr did everything by the seems) but nothing has been done since she died in October , so you can imagine the state on the washing Shock. I am honestly so upset. His daughter does nothing. She bought a Dozen eggs from her hens and my mother found a pen, notepad and tape and wrote a note and stuck it to the empty eggbox fawning . To say that my Mother does not do anything because she is so lazy the effort she made to go to do that is beyond anything she has ever done for me. I am totally pissed off tbh.
Anyway been to Tesco in town, spent £31 it is much more civilised than any other shop l have stalked outside and declined to go in Grin
I am going to carry on shopping in shops now the virus is declining, l wear gloves and a mask , take them off when l have returned the trolley and gel when l get in the car. I don't wash the stuff down but l do wash the surfaces and my hands after l have put it all away. l can see Tesco prices have really gone up. I imagine this will carry on until it gets back to some semblance of normality Hmm
CUE BIG SIGH HERE! Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/05/2020 18:02

That washing sounds grim. Get it on the line the sun will work wonders on stains.

I'm working through the JO lockdown food. Aubergine Dahl as they are in aldi special 6. Home made chipatti. Yum.
