Spent £47 in M&S today mostly on fruit.as that's the only fruit in our house that's guaranteed to be eaten. I haven't been in there for about 6 weeks so it was a bit of a treat. Got some hand gel in Superdrug £1.50 - thought I'd get it when I saw it as who knows how long we will need it for.

Another beautiful day here today. I'm washing everything in sight just now as its drying really quickly on the line (no ironing right enough)

LaneBoy · 23/04/2020 19:52

Spends today £9.45 to a friend who picked up some shopping for us (nappies, some pies and printer paper as we are getting through loads of printing ATM!)
£7ish on Dragonbox app

Does anyone have any recommendations for learning apps on iPad for a 10yo please? We have been using the same old stuff for over a year now (DoodleMaths/English, Duolingo and other language stuff) and I thought I’d use the opportunity to change things up again as the doodle subs ran out (we had a great home ed discount), and some things are being offered free due to the lockdown - just signed up for Sir Linksalot which is for spelling, and Dragonbox is is supposed to be very good for algebra. Any ideas would be appreciated 🤩

Ha! happier.... next time put it in the fridge. If it is there it goes to sleep & you can go a few weeks between feeds. The longest I have left mine was 4 months & it still came back from the dead. It doesn't really matter what type of flour you use (just not self raising) - mine is getting strong patisserie T55 atm because that is all we have left. I daren't think how much it costs....

Em that is quite a clothes haul.

life I know how your ds feels.

I am so tired - busy at work, busy at the food bank. We are really lucky - our donations have gone up a lot and usage has only gone up by a little. So we are sending our overflow to FB that have run out. I have packed up 9 large boxes to go to central Manchester tonight / tomorrow.

LaneBoy · 23/04/2020 19:59

Oops £8 not £7! Don’t normally pay much for apps but have heard great things 🤞

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2020 21:10

Have been to Mum & Bob's, sorted them out , made a lamb stew before l went , Dh loves lamb stew, l don't Grin
We are watching the Big night in and popped out to clap the Nhs and everyone else who are doing a great job of keeping everything going , Posties, Bin men , shop assistants you name them great job!
I am feeling a bit off colour , nothing much just a bit of a strange throat , l think it's my hay fever but of course it's bloody CV19 Hmm on the other hand l think l might have burnt it on some delicious but innocuous looking slow cooker ground rice pudding that l scoffed yesterday serve me right Hmm
Give 'I’ve always had really intense interests since I was a child, I was also really funny about clothes, food etc. '
my Dd1 is exactly the same , she won't touch onions or anything with onions in it, she also has an aversion to hearing ppl eat or make noises with their throat or tongue or mouth. It is called Misophonia. It really really makes her so angry Flowers
Sea l love Uniqlo clothes , guess where l am off to look at Grin
Hope everyone is ok , take care Flowers

LaneBoy · 23/04/2020 21:20

Is the big night in thing good? We’ve just done the quiz, only got 32 this week

I feel awful knowing how hard lockdown can be for autistic kids, mine are doing pretty much ok atm thankfully but I think it’s getting harder as time goes on TBH, I am definitely wanting some space now

NSD here spent much much more mentally by browsing and planning purchases but then thinking meh and not bothering the fact stuff is taking a long time to come I want my stuff next day delivery otherwise I loose interest clearly don't need them

Unescorted · 23/04/2020 22:01

Hmmmmm Uniqlo... that is quite enabling. Just saying.

We are in the middle of an A level melt down. DD has had an email from one of her teachers asking for things she can't supply to the quality she wants to. It is a round robin asking to give as much evidence as the students can give (for those that have done very little).... she is the class swot, she knows this but doesn't quite understand the methodology of most likely grade, previous school grade profiles and rank within grade boundaries.

give everyone is going through Waves of Meh. It is normal in an abnormal situation. Being Meh is OK.

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2020 22:05

Ahh Give hugs my dear Flowers . l am sure you will feel more youself after seeing your counsellor tomorrow. It is really hard l know, my DD1 cried to me yesterday for no particular reason just because she felt everything was awful and she couldn't see an end to it all. Take care .

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2020 22:11

Unescorted l can remember my Dd's doing their exams and l couldn't even understand the questions, they were so difficult to fathom out what the examiners wanted Hmm so l understand a little of your frustration .
God knows how someone like my Dd1 with undiagnosed autism manages, she did well considering l realise that now .

Unescorted · 23/04/2020 22:24

The frustrating thing is the guidance is in Civil Service speak.... I read it as a CS bod and I can see she will be absolutely fine. She is top of her class by a country mile, her college always gets an A each year so she gets an A after ranking and statistical adjustment. She looks at it and thinks - she hasn't finished all her work, her teacher woke up in a bad mood one day and gave her a B on a single piece of work and therefore b/c he has asked for additional work (from everyone) she is going to get a B. I am trying to explain to her that everyone else would need to get a B or lower for her to get a B.. it doesn't quite sink in. I suspect the email is to get those at the lower end to help themselves because they have very little to use as grading evidence.

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2020 22:28

Oh that is horrible of the teacher ,very surly of them. Like you say the others will be in the same boat only worse , l am sure your Dd will be fine, she is exceptionally talented she will fly it l bet ! Flowers

Unescorted · 23/04/2020 22:49

Ta Mrs... I am sure she will be too. Just another 14 weeks of teen girl drama.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/04/2020 07:20

Bloody round robin emails. Poor DD. She will of course get the grade she is predicted to get and is working at. One B will not harm. And from what you've said her work will be exemplar.

Really tired today. Didn't sleep well.

Uniqlo you say........DD needs clothes as she is 5"5 now and very little fits. I might need a look too.
Looked at Hollister the other day. There is a sale on too. .

Great news on the toys em. Well done DM.

Give as others have said meh is ok.

Sorry to you guys struggling with autism too. I can't imagine how hard it is.

Wolf (((huggs))) bloody teenagers. Can't live with them, can't kill them as DM would say.

Nsd planned today but will run out of apples, carrots and yoghurt over the weekend

Mrsmadevans · 24/04/2020 08:59

Morning everyone 😀
Am off to Mum's in a min, feel ok so that's a relief 🤗

Morning everyone. We are making felafels and flat breads for lunch. They smell amazing!

Wolfcub · 24/04/2020 12:15

Give hope you have a brighter day

Mrs glad you're feeling a bit better

Couple of hours of work done. Kitchen cleaned. Been for a very short walk with ds. Toasties made for lunch. Second load of washing on. Other than that haven't really accomplished anything but did stay in bed until 8am.

DM's doves farm flour has arrived. Mine is coming later this afternoon

A quick question. I've a Thai take away sitting in my frige. It's a local Thai business (the wife is Thai). Their food is amazing. They're doing cold deliveries. I just assumed we could bung everything in the microwave. But the take away includes spring rolls and it says you've to deep fry them for 4 minutes. But I've no deep fat fryer. If I buy some cheap cooking oil, could I just use a saucepan? I know all about the dangers of chip pans and I remember the 'Ban the pan' campaign. But just for a one-off? There will be no alcohol involved and I won't leave the pot unattended.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/04/2020 14:15

I would say yes tayto
