Happier dog is gorgeous.

I've also ordered a new watering can as my plants are dying the slight rain yesterday did nothing for them

Snuggly after blind baking my tart case almost all the way and patching any holes I wash it with egg and stick it back in the oven for a couple of mins to make sure it's watertight

Happier the place he has now probably doesn't, whatever agency is supporting him provided the property a bed, a box of kitchen stuff and maybe a sofa but he has another move on the cards at some point as he's on the council housing wait list.

Dinner is meatloaf from the freezer, two sad leaks, one of the many packs of mash from the brexit cupboard and 3/4 of a carrot that didn't make it into the carrot cake and has been drying out in the fridge since yesterday. So appealing but hopefully will liven up roasted

ohhhh … wolf that is natty.

North that is a lot to miss out on. I would be a bit miserable in the circumstances too.

Snuggly I never trust my quiches - they always go in the oven with a drip tray.

nocuts good to see you back. I have found a great weight loss method.... lose the batteries from the scales and wear jim jam bottoms at all times. Apparently I weigh nothing& I still fit into my work clothes. Wink

I was having a chat with one of my mates in the village earlier (over SM). Apparently there have been 4 Covid related deaths and 2 due to delayed chemo in our village. We have less that 3000 people in the parish... that is a scary number.

StraightOuttaCamden · 19/04/2020 17:53

Nocuts- I have a 12 year old addicted to Roblox - she's a nightmare and one day last week she woke up at 4:30am To play the bloody game! She also been hassling me to buy pets but I'm 100% not giving in to that one.

I've just had a Le Creuset disaster, put the stoneware into the oven to heat up, took it out and it's come apart in my hand, never had this problem with any of their stuff before, but this one was a cheapie from TK Maxx so I'm wondering if that's why.Hmm

Weather here is beautiful today so we’ve been sitting out making the most of it. Dcat just brought a half dead rat into the garden 😮 normally I get the rage when she kills field mice or voles but a bloody rat gets a little less sympathy.

Hi nocuts I can’t stop eating either. I’ve no sooner finished one meal or snack and I’m planning my next.

Lovely views Happier

Camden that is not good.

Cute dog happier and nice picnic

Happierwithouthim · 19/04/2020 17:59

Ddog has blossomed since we moved here, she's loving being outdoors a lot, had her spayed too & now she comes back to us when let off leash, not when we call though but she can find her way home from this beautiful spot near our home

I had a le creuset crack once. It was an earthenware dish and not cast iron - apparently they’re not as good at quick temperature changes as cast iron and I did something daft - can’t remember exactly what. If it’s cast iron it defo shouldn’t break but the other stuff can if temp changes too rapid.

Unescorted I’m surprised two locals would have died already from delayed chemo. Were they palliative?

I know what you mean about technology - my DS is very difficult about iPad time which is why I’ve pretty much stopped it altogether (he’s 7, ASD). He only gets the iPad when he’s having a haircut now, or doing something tricky like waiting to see gp/ dentist. Tbh he’s a lot better behaved and more ‘present’ without it but it’s easy entertainment. I something’s wonder if I’m too strict but you’ve just persuaded me to stay firm against technology for a while longer!

Banoffee pie was nice but very sickly. I’m having a lie down now (Completely stuffed!) before going back to the laptop. I still have maybe 12 hours work to do for a midday deadline tomorrow. This isn’t going to be pretty. I’m going to spend more time with DCs in the week though, fingers crossed. Including a trip to the bluebells as we’ve not made it yet - too much work to do Sad

I’m not feeling great today - awful hayfever, tired and a bit coldy. Though I’m not sure how I could have a cold as I haven’t been out for 11 days! It’s probably just hayfever. I’m taking the drugs every day but it’s not keeping it at bay this year. Not sure what else to try.

Sea it is difficult to get the test here, when the waiting lists get too long they scratch all the people who aren't in the area and then we join the bottom again because we live outside the catchment for our nearest hospital. "Our" NHS trust hospital that does oncology is over 30 miles away, so it wouldn't surprise me that they were both well advanced. Once you are diagnosed you get slotted to the Christie for treatment, but often it is very late in the day.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 19/04/2020 20:21

I've been productive today 😇

Got busy in the kitchen and made millionaires shortbread, was pleased at how well it turned out. Also made banana bread and cake, will freeze the bread and half the cake. Dd made some mini carrot cakes which are really tasty.

I'm going to be about 1000 stone at the end of lockdown 😬🤣

Happier your dog is beautiful!!

The quiche worked with only a little seepage! Luckily I had put it on a baking sheet. Egg wash is a good tip for next time though.

Talking of Le Creuset did anybody see Inside the Factory last week? It was at the foundry in France where they are made and at an iron ore mine in South Africa. It was fascinating. The mine was 9 miles wide! I showed it to the dcs because they like that sort of thing and they asked today if we could watch it again!

ChristmasSeacow · 20/04/2020 03:32

Nsd. Work work work. Not quite done but to bed now. It’s going to be a pressurised morning up to my midday deadline!

Unescorted · 20/04/2020 06:13

Good Luck Sea I am about to log on and see how many emails I got over last week. Hopefully quiet due to it being a popular week to have off.

What can I do with a carrot glut - we have had loads of them donated to the food bank, but because we don't have appropriate storage I have swapped them out for things we can use. This means I now have too many carrots.
