Chop and freeze carrots.
Carrot cake, soup, roast carrots. Use in a base for stuff with onion and celery also freezable. Donate to the vulnerable on doorsteps. Random carrot bunches to people?
How many carrots are we talking about.
Donate to a local riding school for the horses.

Work today. Nsd planned.

SnugglySnerd · 20/04/2020 07:25

It was on BBC2 Give and it's on iplayer.

Carrot soup, carrot pancakes, spicy carrot and chick peas are all things we enjoy Unescorted.

Rainb0w · 20/04/2020 07:58

Am I too late to join in for April?

I'm currently forlonged from work so not going anywhere to need to spend money still got my tank of fuel from mid march. Which has saved me a mini fortune.

I'm getting itchy fingers to Internet shop so far though I've managed 7 no spend days and a few very low spend days of food cost expenses..I have brought a couple of gifts for friends this month to post off which I'm considering essential as friends are struggling right now but nothing unessential for me.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/04/2020 09:55

Never too late to join rainbow

straight I was firm when dd1 first had it no real money was going to be spent on it. But glad it's not just be that's frustrated with roblox.

seacow definitely hold off on the technology I wish I had stayed firm during the easter holidays. But going to have a peaceful few days without it!

rainbow I'm also an internet shopper my weakness is ebay and Amazon! I keep telling myself I'm done for dd2's birthday in June (thank goodness now we cant go anywhere!) And I dont need to order more.

All the baking looks fab, I'm hoping to do gluten free and dairy free doughnuts later adapting a recipe I saw online...

Last night won a few auctions of dresses for dd1 (had a growth spurt and only has a couple pairs of shorts but wanted some dresses for the first time in about 4 years) I was getting fed up trying next I am never up early enough to get an order in. So £16 spent in total for 3 funky cat print dresses. I'm watching an adventure time one for her too.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 20/04/2020 11:10

Happier, happy birthday to your dd🎂🎉

Welcome Rainbow.

Working from home today till Wednesday then going in Thursday and Friday.

Have a good day everyone!

Wolfcub · 20/04/2020 13:44

Haven't read back but two things you might find useful.

Abel and Cole have started none organic fruit and veg box, fruit box and pantry box deliveries from restaurant suppliers

Doves farm are doing organic flour and yeast boxes - you can order one per house per week but stocks limited and not clear when they are released. I managed to get one this morning and ordered one for delivery to dparents as well as they are struggling to get flour and yeast

Well I am so glad my bank card is in my husbands office and he's on a conference call I accidentally fell onto the coach website and have a £220 worth of stuff in my basket to now obsess over think I'd best go for walk or something.

Lovemaltesers · 20/04/2020 14:48

unescorted DP made carrot cookies the other day. They were quite edible (surpringly!)

First day back at “work”. I may have had a little falling out with my boss 😂 But we’ve made up now, steam was coming out of my ears. I’m normally very mellow outwardly even if I’m fuming inside.

I accidentally bought a handbag the other day. And a dvd box set. And some Lego.

Lovemaltesers · 20/04/2020 14:49

Welcome rainbow

Happy birthday happier DD

StraightOuttaCamden · 20/04/2020 15:11

Welcome Rainbow!

I'm exactly the same, terrible impulse buyer - I've currently got a John Lewis basket with 4 pairs of Hush trousers sitting in it. And a cox&cox basket containing a hanging Bell tent - need to remind myself I'm not a millionaire!

I've been looking for a Lay-z-spa but they are sold out everywhere! We had some money that I'd saved for our holiday that was cancelled, so I thought I could use that to buy one.

I have actually spent anything today which is good. Today was supposed to be an inset day at school so the dc's haven't had any work sent across. Lazy mode has well and truly kicked in again need to shake it off Blush

Rainb0w · 20/04/2020 16:02

@StraightOuttaCamden
Feel your pain we had our holiday cancelled too not that we've seen the money back yet :-( I keep thinking oh I've got this money that would have gone by now had the holiday gone ahead. Bad attitude to money or what!!?

Got to go to the supermarket for a couple of essentials shortly I'm taking limited funds so I'm not tempted!

StraightOuttaCamden · 20/04/2020 16:33

Rainbow. - did you book with TUI by any chance? We did and haven't had any contact from them at all, the money they owe us, if we ever get it back, has already been earmarked by Dh, the money I'm itching to spend is the holiday spends, we should have been landing back into Heathrow at 9pm tonight, so I knows of figure that we would have spend most of not all of that by now anywayHmm

Rainb0w · 20/04/2020 17:18

We're even worse l**e hols. Avoid like the plague. Distraughted that because I'm paranoid and don't want it to come up in their searches!!
We would have landed back into Heathrow 3 weeks ago.
Yes DH is earmarking it and talking of knocking walls down instead!
Been to the supermarket I walked so I couldn't buy unnecessary bits and bobs! £4 on dog stuff spent.

Happierwithouthim · 20/04/2020 17:43

€29 takeaway yesterday
€49 diesel today
€10.35 on two birthday cards & a sympathy card today

Happierwithouthim · 20/04/2020 17:57

Thanks everyone

Unescorted · 20/04/2020 18:13

I have had a NSD … only because today was my first day back at work and I logged on at 7 thinking that I would finish early. I finally finished at 5 Hmm they got their money's worth today. It has been absolutely bonkers busy.

I think the carrots will be frozen, caked and souped. They are the ones the ones that were given out in the vulnerable shielding food boxes. It has to be said they are not the greatest quality.

Wolfcub · 20/04/2020 18:26

Unescorted sounds like my day. Started and finished half an hour after you. Nightmare. Is it Friday yet?

Dinner is baked pots filled with chopped celery, grated carrot and grated cheese. Shopping coming tomorrow afternoon so the fridge will be full again. Until then we're on odds and sods. Fridge scrubbed out. I've thrown some really soggy celery and some potatoes that were a couple of months old and both squishy and smelly.

Need to think about what's going in the freezer when the shopping comes and drop some bits off to my parents.

Flour box arrives tomorrow which I think is amazing given I only ordered this morning. The website was clearly overloaded and struggling. I did the right thing ordering on two devices as I'd have missed out if I'd done dm's order and my order sequentially.

Load off washing done and dried on the line outside.

Carrot cake is still lovely and soft. Yum.
