Hope things are looking up wolf!

MummySharn · 23/02/2020 17:54

You got a lot done today mrs, you and me both. DD is back to nursery tomorrow so I’ve been on a mad one washing and ironing uniform and cleaning the house (and the kids). All done now though. It’s lovely to hear about your mum and bob, after that many years with your dad she must be very lonely so how nice she has her companion, who are your siblings to judge her for that!.

tayto aww I bet they’re lovely!

Happy birthday fearofawelshplanet

The DC will be in bed in an hour, then I’m off for a hot bath and to treat myself before they end up in with me. I spent £40 on the weekly shop and £30 on petrol today.

Mrsmadevans · 23/02/2020 18:31

I stuck to a NSD YAY!

I think this week is going to be a bit tight - if only it wasn't a leap year 😂! Also I hate when the 1st of month falls on a weekend, particularly a Sunday, as bank account doesn't catch up until a few days later.

Rough meal plan for this week based on scrabbling in the cupboard:
M: chicken curry, rice, spinach / leftover frozen pizza and smiley faces
T: savoury and sweet pancakes
W: ham, egg, chips and beans
T: spaghetti with salami and green beans
F: broccoli and courgette soup / freezer dive - combo of fishfingers and chicken nuggets
S: pizza and salad
S: bacon baps for brunch before food shopping!

It's not the healthiest but I want to get by on bare minimum shopping and I want to defrost the freezer before next food shop.

I've actually got the ingredients for West African peanut soup as well but dh can't eat peanuts and not sure the kids would like it but I may make for myself at some point - never had it before but looks yum 😋

Fearofawelshplanet · 23/02/2020 20:45

Thank you Mrs! Thank you Sharn! x

Happierwithouthim · 23/02/2020 21:04

Happy birthday fear
Tayto look forward to the pics & tales of what the kittens get up to.
Dd is wanting to ask Santa for a Birman cat because I've said they're too expensive Hmm

Wolfcub · 23/02/2020 21:05

Bedtime here. We went to dparents for dinner. Dm made lasagne garlic bread and salad. She makes the best lasagne. She uses fatty beef mince and veal mince (I know I know but it’s delicious...) So so yumm.

Everything is prepped for tomorrow. Both babies are asleep.

Nsd.

Mumbassa2 · 23/02/2020 21:36

Happy birthday @Fearofawelshplanet!

I’m the same re the weather @MummySharn
I’m happy with any kind of weather before Christmas but after it’s over I just want the spring.

@maddenlightfoot Your meal plan sounds great!

I spent £60 on the weekly shop today but that is all.

Unescorted · 23/02/2020 21:51

Happy birthday Fear - sorry a bit late in the day.

wolf - STAR them. We are told to put which competency we are illustrating in the first line. So I used my creative problem solving when my team had this problem. We needed to do X task. I did specific thing/s [that demonstrates the competency] which had the following outcome. And then for the interview get examples of the same competencies in the same format. Having just gone through 8 years of restructuring over and over again - we are dab hands at getting the theory right..... practice is more problematic.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 23/02/2020 22:29

Not keeping up very well, apologies.

Busy wend, spent £75 in Aldi Ystd, haven't done a food shop for ages and now have enough to last two weeks.

No other big spends that I can think of.

Dd has a bad cough, praying she is okay for school tomorrow as I've got an all day meeting that I don't want to miss.

Wolfcub · 24/02/2020 06:03

Snow! Not much but it's going to make traveling interesting.

Girly hope dd is ok. If she's no temp can you send her with plenty to drink and a supple of cough sweets?

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/02/2020 06:44

This is my view this morning.
Good luck wolf. Pleased in not more this week

Frugal Friends Finding Financial Freedom In February
lifelongfrugaleer · 24/02/2020 06:47

Happy birthday dear for yesterday.

I would send girlie if no temp.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 24/02/2020 07:25

Temp 37.3 this morning?! She has had a low grade fever for a few days, above 37 but never above 38. Mostly just above 37.

Will try and get her a drs appointment later to put my mind at rest, am sending her to school though 😬 my mum can take her to the drs.

MummySharn · 24/02/2020 09:18

If she’s okay in herself I’d dose her up with calpol and send her off to school girlie

I’m jealous of you with snow, it’s just very heavy rain here

Happierwithouthim · 24/02/2020 11:10

€46 at dump, might have been better weighing in the van but I'm not used to driving it so I stuck to what I knew. That included 3 bags for recycling also. Went to two charity shops also.
Strangest experience at one, some of the women inside came out & told me they'd give me some euros towards the toys they wanted. I said no as was donating them anyhow. Went to next charity shop and they were there too turns out they were customers scouring charity shops on Monday morn to get best donations not volunteers as I thought. They must have thought it was Christmas getting the stuff for nothing Grin

€15 on tickets for a lighting artist show next month for city of culture celebrations
€110 booking hotel for that night, I will get half of this back from my friend who's going with me. €62.50 plus food & drink for night away with a friend isn't too bad I think.

Grocery shopping later too

Happierwithouthim · 24/02/2020 11:11

We've rain too Sharn

Unescorted · 24/02/2020 13:30

Get all of you with your snow..... I got rain.

I went camper van window shopping yesterday. I had hoped we could get away with a sprinter one, but realistically for what we use it for it is going to have to be a bigger one so the tat fits.

Mrsmadevans · 24/02/2020 16:10

Afternoon everyone
Didn't have a chance to post this morning , had to be up Mum's early to get her ready for the Dr's , he has put her on Penicillin for a week now so hopefully this will sort it out . She also had a new washing machine coming and they were plumbing it in and taking the other one away for her as well , also her teeth to be fetched from the dentist , she dropped them and they broke on Friday, third time in about 3 months, then pick up prescription from the chemist and sort her tablets out for the next week in weekly medicine pots , all this while showering her , dressing her and cleaning the house doing her food etc etc
So just come home and collapsed with the puter/tv/cuppa
I have managed another NSD so that is 2 in a row!
@Unescorted thank you so much for the links l am going to have a good look now Grin
@lifelongfrugaleer love your snow pic Smile
No snow here .....just rain Hmm
@Girliefriendlikespuppies l hope your DD is feeling better Flowers
@ememem84 your DM lasagne sounds delish! Smile
@maddenlightfoot your meal plan sounds fine to me, thank you for sharing and giving us all ideas Smile
Dh has just bought me another cuppa , he is a darling you can keep your Omar Sharif lookalikeys aka Romain Ntarmack Grin

maddenlightfoot · 24/02/2020 16:20

Thanks for the links unescorted! And I'm mightily envious of the camper van shopping!

Happier your plans sound fab! Which city is the City of Culture this year?

You deserve that cuppa Mrs - your mum is lucky to have you! And your dh sounds like a star ⭐️ (my dh doesn't drink hot drinks so I get a cuppa made for me on high days and holidays only 🙄)

A couple of £s from the change jar today on porridge oats and shreddies for the girl's breakfasts (big girl and one of the dts love porridge, not the other one unfortunately)
