My Mum lives in CrickHowell. I think it has Bourne the brunt of the storm tbh. This is a pic of CrickHowell bridge and the firemen rescuing ppl from their houses.

Not my garden thankfully 🤗

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/02/2020 16:31

So glad you got to your mum Mrs. Hope you are all ok, considering Flowers

Wolfcub · 16/02/2020 16:34

Good grief Mrs that looks terrible

OP posts:
SnugglySnerd · 16/02/2020 16:41

Goodness Mrs. The stream has flooded the park and across the road near us but nowhere near that bad.

Dd1 is driving me mad today. Her behaviour is always awful in the school holidays. She has plenty to do but won't actually do anything, she keeps answering back and arguing and winding up the other 2. We've been out for a lovely walk this afternoon to see the river and splash in puddles and she was just awful. I hope she's not going to be like this all week, she's usually lovely.

Mrsmadevans · 16/02/2020 17:18

Thank you so much @CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces @Wolfcub @Snuggly
We are all ok thank God Smile
Have been told Sky Sports are broadcasting live From Crick @ 6 if anyone wants to see how bad it was Sad dozens had to be rescued from their houses , it's been very bad here .

ememem84 · 16/02/2020 19:53

Dh isn’t feeling well. He feels nauseous. I am hiding downstairs. My anxiety levels are all over the place. I feel awful for not being more sympathetic. But I can’t. Just can’t.

LaneBoy · 16/02/2020 19:57

Hugs em I’m the same when there’s sickness, instant panic. Hope he’s ok and it’s just random nausea. Keep posting xx

I’ve not been posting spends so I need to look back over the thread and my banking app. Not used cash for ages so I know it’ll all be on there

ememem84 · 16/02/2020 20:31

He says he just feels nauseous. He’s waiting for the inevitable. I’m watching crap on tv. I want to go to bed. But he’s on bed.

I’ll be ok. I just need to essentially get over it.

Happierwithouthim · 17/02/2020 05:58

€8.26 M&S snacks for cinema
€3.50 snacks at taekwondo
€34.50 cinema Sonic, really good Grin

SnugglySnerd · 17/02/2020 07:20

Em there seems to be a bug going round causing nausea but not sickness. I had it last week and there's a thread on here about it. Hopefully it's just that. I hate sick mess bugs, it's the inevitability that they will go through the whole house. Hope he's ok today.

Off to soft play with friends this morning. Not eating there but will get a coffee.

Dd needs new school shoes. More expense!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/02/2020 07:33

How he's feeling better em. Yy to a nausea stomach cramps bug round here too.

Dive squad and trampoline park today. No doubt snacks will be bought as my DC rebell against mine at times. All part of the plan, more or less

Wolfcub · 17/02/2020 07:41

Em hope dh is ok. I'd be staying well out of the way too I have a thing about Envy(not envy)

Shopping day for us today I need new trainers as mine are leaking through the soles. Ds needs eleventy-million tshirts for the holiday he doesn't know he's going on and he has Christmas money which is burning holes in his pockets. Parking will be £13 before we even start and there will have to be lunch. And maybe snacks as teen boys seem to have hollow legs

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 17/02/2020 08:12

wolf how are you going to convince him to buy tshirts in this weather? Smile

Just discovered I left my wallet at cinema it contained about €15 and my fuel card, have emailed cinema to see if they found it.

Aviva emailed to offer a copy of Easy Food magazine delivered free as a promo for 29th Feb, delighted as I love this magazine Grin

Dc are on midterm, I'm not taking any of it off and it mightn't be all that fun for them as they've to empty out playroom for moving, au pair may hate me after this week Grin

I do have one day off on their Easter hols and their dad has three, I'll have them fri to tues of the bank holiday weekend & we'll visit dp's and their niece who's 2nd birthday will be on that weekend. Have also promised dd a day out on the train, and must sort out some tesco boost for Milano(Pizza Express) for that day too.

maddenlightfoot · 17/02/2020 08:53

Happy Monday everyone! Oh how I love half term. Snuggly that's tough with dd1; how old is she? My dd (almost 8) is amazing with the dts half of the time but can also whip them into a frenzy at the drop of a hat.

We've come to stay with my mum for a few days. My 12yo niece is also visiting and she forgot to turn off her school alarm - was woken by 'rocking around the Christmas tree' blaring out at 5am AND 6am. No-one else woke up - including her! - I had to go and turn it off both times 😴😴.

Mrs I'm a regular visitor to Crickhowell. How devastating. Glad your mum is ok.

Off for a bit of 'half term shopping' today. Ie all of the things like school shoes, new Tupperware, anything that will make next term run more smoothly!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/02/2020 10:52

Snuggly, could it be that your dd1 was just overwhelmed and lashed out? I think this term has been tough, dark mornings and dark afternoons makes most of us a bit short tempered. I'm really glad for the break.
em hope dh is better.
happier hope you get your wallet back.
wolf and madden good luck with the shopping trips today.
We are having a slow morning, but will be going food shopping in a bit.

NSD Saturday and Sunday, but as it is half term now I will probably spend every day!

Lovemaltesers · 17/02/2020 11:36

Another love of half term here today. DC didn’t come into us until 7.30 = bliss. and still in pjs at 9.30

We didn’t get the printer yesterday as may be able to get a cheaper one via BIL’s work. DP has gone into work to print off tickets for tomorrow. DC have gone with him as they love running around his school. Tesco shopping done by me £28

Now need to pack for night away tomorrow and get organised.

Job Application got submitted but closing date isn’t until the end of the week. DP was in shock I’d done it over two days as we both normally procrastinate on forms. When we get back, I still need to finish and start my assignment.

Hope DH is better em

I have a very grumpy, teary DD1 at nothing snuggly too. We need spring to come!

Lovemaltesers · 17/02/2020 11:42

A Christmas song at 5am and 6am Shock madden

Wolfcub · 17/02/2020 13:12

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 17/02/2020 13:37

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 17/02/2020 13:46

Thanks curvy they have it so my cousin will collect and post it back to me, all good Grin

Tax refund coming through from df's tax back, €500+ that'll go a long way towards first month's rent of rented house.

Wolfcub · 17/02/2020 14:35

Super spendy. £30 brunch £9 parking £50 primark for ds on 13 tops, three shirts and a p k of socks £206 sketchers on three pairs of shoes, one of which to replace knackered work shoes which are badly scuffed, one to replace trainers that have a hole in the sole and let water in and an extra pair because I love them and two pack of socks because mine all have holes. £30 to ds, £20 that I owed him and an extra £10 top up to buy a Lego set he wanted. £1 water £12 boots

Hello please may I join? I try to budget literally everything in my life, I have a notebook that works out my outgoings, even just silly stuff like takeaways. I don’t have much disposable income so everything has to be budgeted for
