Happy birthday Curvy.
Pay is in today, so had a happy 5 minutes moving it around...now I need to buckle down and not move any savings back again before next pay day!
I noticed the snowdrops were out in the garden here this morning (as I staggered around in the dark with the dog before work). Also some very confused daisies!

LaneBoy · 31/01/2020 09:16

Happy birthday curvy!
Exciting stuff life hope you get it :)

Extra spends yesterday
£90 therapy. Eek. I had an appt for 24th Feb but decided to bring it forward and she had a cancellation for Monday. Not sure if I’ll keep the original one or move it a bit later (she’s totally flexible on this stuff, just asks for 48h notice if at all possible).

In other news I think I might get a tattoo soon. I’ve never been able to decide what I’d want but had a specific idea and it’s quite small so should be affordable. DH and I are now doing the “pocket money” thing again (we had a set amount for stuff like DVDs, games, apps etc each month consistently for several years) so I will use that, not sure if I’ll get the drawing pens I want first though (I mostly use Triplus for sketching and found a set of 60 for £26).

How do you even know what a good rate is for tattoos? A friend saw someone who charged £60 an hour, mine would definitely take less than one hour but I wonder if I’d still pay £60 regardless. Some places seem to charge a set price for the design rather than by time?

ememem84 · 31/01/2020 09:37

lane mine cost £60. I think £60 an hour is about right.

Spent some time sorting final financial documents for the solicitor, one I can't find but think it's ok and I'm waiting for the post to come to see if the annual mortgage statement arrives before I click send.

LaneBoy · 31/01/2020 09:59

Thanks em I love that, how long did that take? Mine would be similar but maybe a bit longer I think.

Happierwithouthim · 31/01/2020 11:26

life congrats and good luck with interview.

M&S currently have 20% off and having bought two pairs of jeans from them in black friday sale I was itching to get more, but was resisting, next post will show why they're now justified, my mother has already patched these jeans 3 times & they're worn thin from age and washing. Will purchase enough to get free postage which is €30, I'll probably get two pairs of jeans.

Spent €4.35 on my sandwich and packet of treble crunch this morning as I'll be in the car for most of the 30mins and the chilli con carne I'd planned won't work there!

Stretching out the groceries to 10 days has been fairly successful, I need to buy a couple of slices of ham for dd's lunch on Monday but other than that we made it and the fridge is ready to clean over the weekend.

Made a fridge surprise soup yesterday with half a red & yellow pepper, 2 carrots, half parsnip, 2 sad looking tomatoes and the last handful of red lentils that were there, did it in instant pot and it tastes delicious.

Happierwithouthim · 31/01/2020 11:58

€75.40 after discount code on 2 pairs of jeans, a fine knit jumper & a 3/4 length tshirt & a regular tshirt. Needed.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/01/2020 12:21

Tattoo booked for late March as the earlier slots are on days I can’t do. But this does mean I can get the pens first.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/01/2020 21:30

Thanks Snuggly!

Spends today £13.50 in co-op on cakes
£5 in pound shop on dd2, her weekly treat, not all junk, she got some new pens, a notebook and stickers.
£13.40 in the local chippy.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/01/2020 21:36

@LaneBoy, this is one of my tattoos, dd1 paid for it when she was 18, we got matching ones and they cost £80, but it was vegan ink (I know most tattoo parlours use it now, but a few years ago it was more expensive).
Anyway we were in there for about 2 and a half hours, so seemed a fair price.
£60 seems very reasonable.
Hope you get something you love x

LaneBoy · 31/01/2020 21:46

Fab, thanks and that is a lovely tattoo! She’s actually said although it’s £60 an hour the minimum charge is £30 so I guess it’s staggered by time from half an hour up. DSD paid the same for a similar sized one in a different parlour so maybe that is standard here Confused but I’m going with the one I messaged anyway - she’s a one woman business and her work is amazing, I wish I could show you my friend’s one!

I’ve not decided about colour yet, I’ve tried it on my arm in black but maybe I’ll go with something else, not sure if other colours work as well for writing?! 🤔

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/01/2020 21:51

Thanks lane, it brings me joy everyday and reminds me that we will always be connected.
Will this be your first tattoo?

ememem84 · 31/01/2020 21:52

lane it took about half hour. So not long at all. I went and got it during a lunch break.

I want to get more birds. I like the idea of them swirling up my forearm.

Spendy today. £70 boots (new bottles for Dd for dparents house made this pricey...plus clothes for the dc on half price or less)

£71 M&S vests etc for Dd on next size up.

Not sure ds is all that well. He was exhausted earlier but didn’t nap all day. Has a cough. Was superbly irritable grumpy and unreasonable at around 7 (more so that just being tired) no temp as such (36.7) gave him calpol as a precaution hopefully he’ll sleep through and will be better I. Himself tomorrow.

LaneBoy · 31/01/2020 21:55

Aww that‘s so nice ❤️ yep, first one. I had thought I’d get one for my 30th (2016) but couldn’t think what I wanted. I inadvertently designed one when I did Inktober last year, and I think I’d like that one day too, but not yet.

LaneBoy · 31/01/2020 21:56

That’s so cool em I love the idea of having more up your arm!

50 sleeps :o I’m like a kid waiting for Christmas.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/01/2020 22:01

em, hope ds improves soon.

Yeah I'm a bit soppy like that!
Ahh so you're a virgin lane!
Where abouts are you getting it done on your body?
