Oh gawd. Today is spendy. I just paid my tax bill Hmm

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 22/01/2020 16:26

Not felt a very productive day today 😑 Dd had a long appointment this morning as part of her getting a possible ASD diagnosis. Think we both felt quite drained after that, I've come away thinking I'll be amazed if she doesn't get a diagnosis as when you put everything together it looks obvious to me. We will see though, they are planning a school and home visit assessment now.

Then I took the dog for a long walk and have otherwise sat on the sofa! I'm having issues paying for things online which is annoying but quite good for the bank balance I suppose. Spent ages on the phone to HSBC and it's still not resolved as they keep telling me the card is fine 🤨 I've only had the issue since getting a new card! Think I'll have to go into the bank and talk to an actual person.

theweightlossone · 22/01/2020 16:28

I’ve spent nothing since Sunday other than swimming club on Monday. Yay!

LaneBoy · 22/01/2020 17:47

Oh wow girlie that’s huge. Hope you can have an easy evening as it’s overwhelming having appointments like this! After my own assessment I slept all afternoon 🙈

NSD today (so far) but
£19.09/£24.11 for big family deliveroo for DH’s birthday yesterday as he wasn’t well enough to go out bless him

My pizza was disappointing 😖

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/01/2020 18:14

Hello all and welcome to the newbies.
I've been struggling this last week with work, it has been very draining, so I had a chat with our lead and she said that she has noticed that some of the practitioners are not pulling their weight, so she is going to address it tomorrow at planning.
I feel better for it and I know she will be diplomatic.

I've only skimmed the thread as I'm just so tired, sorry!

Aww em and lane, your girls are growing so quickly and em I also can't believe that your maternity has ended, it seems too soon!
Girlie that sounds tough Flowers.

Spends today
KFC £5.09, I had to get out of work for a bit!
Iceland £5.77 on bread, fruit and yoghurt.

I have a £10 boden birthday voucher that I won't use, it runs out on the 31st. I'm not sure if it will work on anybody else's account?
Would anyone like it?
First come, first served.

Laska2Meryls · 22/01/2020 20:34

Hi again, I've had a week away, nothing exciting though, been decorating the house that DH used to live in when working away.. we think we are going to sell it now, was going to rent it out but it seems like a lot of hassle.. The house is his pension though so it will have to be invested .
So I havent been frugalling at all! but it has to be done

Today had to pay house insurance which was 240, I really couldnt get it much cheaper which was disappointing .

Also Today DH took me out for a lovely lunch to celebrate my retirement ,
Actually when I say I havent been frugalling, ( mainly because I bought some naughty things in the sales ) I have been keeping a rein on the food expenditure...I have been making lot of soups

ChristmasSeacow · 22/01/2020 20:38

Fortune on food here. I find it expensive to diet, I spend much more on naice fruit and veg.

Curvy I’d love the voucher, I believe anyone can use them!

Work also draining me, and my children even more so. Lots of issues atm with DS soiling himself (never been a problem before Hmm) and also he seems to be developing some OCD traits. I feel as though I have a lot on my mind atm, I’m worrying about lots of things. DD (2) also continues her rapid transformation to teenager.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/01/2020 20:42

Of course Sea, have PMed you

CurlsandCurves · 22/01/2020 20:48

Hi, not done too bad today, sold (another) old phone I found for £35. 6 Xbox games sold to CEX for £20 and the ones they wouldn’t take I’ve just sold via Facebook for a tenner. The Xbox is still for sale on Facebook but if I don’t get rid of it by this time next week I’ll take it to CEX to sell. Only reason they didn’t have it off me today is because I forgot the controllers to go with it 🙄

Got a couple of other things to sell. A digital camera that’s not been used for years coz we all take pics on our phones. And a handheld video camera. Need to take them to get the photos and videos downloaded onto a disc before I sell them tho. Doubt I’ll get much for them with them being quite outdated but anything’s better than nothing.

Got a few beauty essentials while I was out today but made the most of bogofs to lower the overall cost.

I’ve really needed a new pair of trainers for ages, my old ones are about 3 years old and I do 6 exercise classes a week in them so they were ready for the scrap heap. Been putting off buying any because of the expense but I found a lovely pair of Nikes for £25 in Deichmann, bargain!

Tomorrow will be a NSD.

LaneBoy · 22/01/2020 21:21

Sitting in the pub in order to keep up my “leave the house every day” resolution (only missed one day so far when I was ill) and make sure I was ok getting somewhere alone when dizzy etc. Made it. But get this... still NSD 😱 cheeky maybe but I’m right in a quiet corner by the door. I usually have food and a soft drink here (I actually dread to think how much I’ve spent in here since moving nearby) so I don’t feel toooo guilty.

SnugglySnerd · 22/01/2020 21:28

3 NSDs to start the week. Very tired today. Have eaten a lot of chocolate to keep going. Not good!

ememem84 · 22/01/2020 21:47

Busy busy day.

Popped into town and dropped some stuff of my sisters back at her place and left her some treats too. Met dparents for a coffee (£4.90 for three coffees) then had second therapy session. £5.45 for a sandwich and a Diet Coke (!?!?) then home. Dd was with me for all but the therapy when Dh took her. Picked ds up from nursery he was reluctant to leave as they’d taken delivery of new toys!

Home then dinner and I sneaked off to a yoga class. Class started at 730 and I was home by 9. Walking home (just at school down the road) I met a lady who told me that the whole Of our area has no water. Apparently the works on the road had burst a water main. Ffs. I’ve filled up kettle, all of dds bottles my water bottle our water jug etc. Water co are working on it though.

In bed now. Dh is making soup.

NSD yesterday...hopefully same today..

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 23/01/2020 06:19

Yesterday £18 Co-op. Day before £11 Aldi.
New to us car serviced yesterday and some work on it £1100. We were not imposed upon as far as we can tell, we knew it would take some work. More is due to be done next week but DP has taken out finance for that. I have promised him £200 a month to help, or to provide diesel.
It will be £100 this month as I’m ordering a camera that will show the rear view. So some tightening of belts. I have suggested to the cat that she eats less and DP has suggested sending her out to work. She was not amused.
Oh and £5 for four second hand books.

BuddhaAtSea · 23/01/2020 06:54

NSD yesterday. And I agreed to an extra shift on Saturday, which means some extra money next month :)
I need some gym trainers too! No idea what to get though.

Wolfcub · 23/01/2020 07:50

Solicitor today that'll be £100
Ocado delivery due shortly £55

Need to not spend anything until payday next Friday

theweightlossone · 23/01/2020 07:54

Should be another NSD here.

Will definitely need to up to two loaves in the weekly shop so we don’t need to pick one up during the week. OH must have nipped out for one this morning. So NSD for me but not him Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/01/2020 07:59

On the early train to the big smoke for a stakeholder event.
Can claim most expenses.

What kind of gym do you do Buddah? Classes, run, just weights? Budget?

Mrsmadevans · 23/01/2020 08:30

Morning everyone 😀
Planning a NSD today 🤞
Fear my Dd2 knows many young men in Cardiff 😂 as you can imagine 😂 . I am sure she would love to meet your body building Son 😁
It sounds like a match made in heaven 😁😂

ememem84 · 23/01/2020 09:02

@TheDuchessofDukeStreet you know the rules. Mention a cat. Post a pic of said cat. This is the Internet afterall.

Incidentally has anyone watched “dont f**k with cats” on Netflix? Crazy stuff. (Also “abducted in plain sight” but this ones a proper mind fucker so so many times I had to rewind and go back to make sure Id heard correctly. Worth a watch though)

Today I’m meeting a friend for coffee at her place. So will have to pay for parking. £2 something probably.

Then I’m going to take Dd to the “big” Morrison’s (it’s not huge but it’s bigger than all the other small ones we have here!) and get a whole chicken and some cat litter. £10 spend ish.

Getting rid of baby things today - Moses basket etc as a friend needs them. So that’s a big declutter.

Tomorrow is my last ever day of maternity leave (I know I said that last time...!) but this time I really mean it!

I spoke with dh again last night about him having the snippy snippy snip. He’s “looking into it” which is code for “stop hounding me (I’ve asked twice) I don’t want to do it”

Lost a long post last night and was too tired to repost. Good run of NSDs this week though so that's good.

Enjoy last little bit of mat leave, Em.
