£58 animal and human food. You can guess which I spent most on. Tomorrow will be petrol ⛽⛽again. Will this month ever end?

Wolfcub · 23/01/2020 17:27

Frustrated at the cost Lane but relieved someone is taking some of the mental pressure off and determined to be rid of him ASAP

SnugglySnerd · 23/01/2020 17:31

It's a lot of money Wolf but think how much better off you will be in other ways.
I feel the same accidental, January is going on forever!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/01/2020 17:45

Gosh that is a lot of money wolf. But it's the next step and needs to be done.

Happierwithouthim · 23/01/2020 18:18

Wow wolf massive difference to what you thought today's bill would be, are you making progress?

€6.80 centra on frozen chips, cat food & 6 wagon wheels & 6 own brand purple snack bars
€15.30 butchers 5 chicken fillets, 5 chicken kebabs, 1 pork chop and half lb of steak mince
€5 two weeks pocket money given to dd.

I've batch cooked 3 portions of chicken curry & 2 of bolognese for myself. Think I'll freeze the kebabs as dc will have dinner with their dad next two days. They were 5 for €7 or €1.50 each.

I've a few aches & pains today & yesterday so hoping I'm not coming down with something.

Wolfcub · 23/01/2020 18:45

Happier good effort on the batch cooking. a chunk of today's payment is forward pay for the work to be done over the next couple of weeks and I hadn't anticipated having to do that, I was thinking it'd be more invoice then payment. Charges are just short of £300 per hour Shock. But yes progress looks highly likely and I appear to have done all the right things so far. I also need to find a property solicitor Confused. Bank account looking a little less than healthy today

Not been feeling brilliant for a few days so having a quiet evening cuddling my hot water bottle

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/01/2020 18:52

I'm in the wrong job. Self care wolf.

Happierwithouthim · 23/01/2020 19:29

Your body & mind are going through a stressful time wolf be kind to yourself

Happierwithouthim · 23/01/2020 19:31

Looks like I'll have to go down separation agreement route unless divorce process is very fast, I need it for my mortgage & my offer is being considered by the three owners of the house I want to buy at the weekend so it might be a case of whatever's faster at this stage.
€2500 + vat Hmm

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/01/2020 19:56

Beautiful cat Duchess.
Em, hope you had a wonderful last day of maternity leave.
Wolf, that is a lot of money! Hopefully it will all be sorted soon, remember to take care of you.
Happier, when will you know?

Fearofawelshplanet · 23/01/2020 19:59

Mrs Madevans..GrinWink NSD...

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/01/2020 20:02

Posted too soon.

I'm feeling a bit rough too. Didn't have any vicks last night and only had a tiny bit of night nurse so have spent money today on meds.
£4.99 on night nurse in the chemist
£7.52, superdrug on vicks, shea butter lip balm, heavy duty hand cream, and balsam tissues.
£1.75 in the pound shop, cat ears and tail (dress up day for dd2 to raise money for wildlife, she is going as a leopard) and pain en chocolate

Fearofawelshplanet · 23/01/2020 20:04

Payday tomorrow, 6.60 left in my bank account, that is not normal, especially in January....i love this thread, already....

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/01/2020 20:07

*Pains au chocolat.

Bloody auto correct!

theweightlossone · 23/01/2020 20:08

Tomorrow is payday for us -

I’ve budgeted £75 for food shopping and £45 for fuel. I’ll also need £5 for kids swimming and have £5 in my purse for another of their activities.

Not sure we can do another week of only spending that Sad

Wolfcub · 23/01/2020 20:18

Flipping heck Happier that's a lot of money

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 23/01/2020 21:29

It's crazy how expensive divorce is, I remember some of the sums when my parents got divorced 😵

Busy busy day here, had parents evening and Pilates today after work. Parents evening was fine, no big concerns from the teachers so that's good.

I've had my water bill and my monthly DD is going up by £15 a month!! Ffs, am really annoyed about that as we def haven't suddenly increased our water usage. Will ring them to check it's right.

Spent £14 at the post office, sent a parcel to Oz, really hope it gets there!
£16 on a top up shop (quick dash round the co op between activities!)

Is brexit still meant to be happening at the end of the month?!! I avoid the news as it winds me up too much...

Wolfcub · 23/01/2020 21:48

Weevils! Again! Angry

ememem84 · 23/01/2020 21:56

Tomorrow I’m getting nails done and am taking ds with me. Have made him a snack box. Total cost £48 (eyebrow wax too)

Then that’s it. Coming home and chilling tidying up as much as I can

I’m on day 23 no unnecessary spending.

@lifelongfrugaleer I do body pump, circuits, body conditioning (I have a random day off in the week, so whatever is on that day). I do Pilates and stretching class bare foot.
I have running shoes, proper ones, I’ve spent £140 on a pair of Brooks Ghost. But I went to the specialist shop, I underpronate and I had tibial haematomata from crap shoes. I guess what I am saying is I’ll pay for really good quality, at the moment I have 3 blisters one under the other on the tip of my toes 😩. Could you advise?

NDS here. I get paid tomorrow too!

Fearofawelshplanet · 24/01/2020 05:44

The weight - hope next week goes ok and you manage your spend goals...
NSD today..in work all day and then straight home to chill for the weekend...hurrah!
Next month is 2 months no council tax, then march 2 months no water payments....that is going to be put to one side as an emergency buffer like frugal queen used to advice. Need to keep on this thread in Feb.Halokeep me strong peopleStar

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/01/2020 06:39

I don't know what a tibial thingy is. I do pump and Zumba and use new balance 711. You need a cross trainer.
ASICS are good but they have a narrow box and I got a tingle foot.
Running shops might have strainers.
Most of the branded shoes will do a trainer it's just a case of trying on. But you defo need cross trainer

£8 on m&s sweets that can't be claimed. Will stick rest in today.

Mrsmadevans · 24/01/2020 07:25

Morning everyone 😀
No plans for any spending today 😊
Wether l stick to it is another matter 🤔
Fear well done on still having £6.60 left , that is such a great achievement after not being in the black before. 👏👍
I am busy trying to get my Dd2 a mortgage for a new build , shared equity , no rent, buying a Bellway home from a non profit charity housing firm in liason with Cardiff council/United Welsh/Harmoni homes, Cardiff living / Bellway. It's very complicated but basically she buys 65% of the home and they keep 35% until you want to buy it off them but you never have to buy the 35% if you don't want to. Very complicated am trying to get my head around it all. I have never heard of it before 🙄
Hey ho, nothing ever straight forward , have a great day everyone 😀

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/01/2020 08:05

Well done on having cash left. It's not pay day for me until last working day of the month.
Enjoy last mat leave day em.
Wolf bleurgh. Get some lock and lock tubs. The branded ones 2.6 holds a bag of floor and 1.8 sugar. Never had the blighters since I got mine.

Breakfast this morning £2.70. planning my food shop which should be quite small.

DD is getting right into washable pant liners and cheeky wipes pants. Not bad as it's her first one.

GuyFawkesDay · 24/01/2020 09:25

Payday 31st here 😭
On field trip most of this week so low spending. Did spend £52 on Ocado and will grab a few things in the CoOp as their pizza is cheap for tonight when I get home.

There's now £60 to last and I need fuel. Bloody hate January.
