Need to buy a birthday present for dd to take to a party. Otherwise nsd.

Bornlazy · 24/01/2020 11:48

I am totally paranoid about weevils now and inspect everything dried before I use it. I keep my flour in a separate cupboard from everything else and tie it up in a large food bag.

Nsd yesterday and the day before but today will be spendy as going out for lunch and then meeting a friend for drinks tonight.

Payday was yesterday for me and I had about £80 left so put that away towards summer holiday.

Have a good day everyone.

ChristmasSeacow · 24/01/2020 12:36

Spent 50p yesterday on 2 bananas. Was hoping for an nsd today but then I remembered that DS’s wellies are too small and also DD’s leggings are getting too small. We are also going to try toilet training this weekend so I just bought wellies, pants for DD, leggings for DD, more pants for DS (as we’ve been chucking his away if they are really bad Envy) . £35 from next as I have a delivery thing.

I will be working most of the weekend, I have no doubt. I am feeling pretty fed up with the world atm!

Ocado tomorrow currently at £106 but no doubt I will add to it as I think of things.

It’s really quite cold wfh but I’m trying to resist putting the heating on. Dying for a cup of tea but I am descaling the kettle and somehow saucepan tea never tastes tea the same.

ChristmasSeacow · 24/01/2020 12:36

Sorry, that would have said £45. Quite a lot of pants.

theweightlossone · 24/01/2020 12:51

£45 in the car this morning and 85p for crisps for childs snack at school because we had absolutely nothing in the house!

How do people cope with not spending money? I’m trying so hard to budget to pay off our debt but saw a really good deal for a night away and I’m just desperate for it! So hard Sad

ememem84 · 24/01/2020 13:04

£39.50 nails and eyebrow waxing. Thinking about it I think she undercharged me. I’ll email and sort that out. Took ds with me and he got his nails filed and buffed too.

£2.60 on three jammiest jammy donuts.

£2.50 paperchase on a get well soon card for ddad - he’s having a knee op today.

£54 boots - new bottles and tears for Dd (extras needed for nursery and dparents place) formula, dummies and feeding bowls. Actual cash spend £1 as used all my vouchers.

Now with dm for lunch. Dd is napping (she had a morning at nursery but no sleepy so is exhausted!) and ds is playing with wooden cutty up food.

I’m trying out the ‘envelope system’ and being super strict as January is soooo long!

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 24/01/2020 13:15

Ooo forgot about having two months off council tax 👏🏻 that will help a lot!!

Today my only spend so far is £1 to dd for a treat after school however I'm going out tonight for a cheap dinner with a friend.

ememem84 · 24/01/2020 14:09

I’ve still got another 28 days until payday....eeek!!

£2.00 Tesco
&3.00 chemist

Still feeling naff. Horrendous headache and generally meh

House cleaned top to bottom. The only thing I haven't done is vacuum the stairs and upstairs. I will do that tomorrow

Laska2Meryls · 24/01/2020 16:14

Beautiful cat Duchess
Mummy tippy I use YNAB for a few years now .. its really revolutionised my budgeting... I now have savings and no debt!
Em so you are back to work on Monday? Seems to have gone so quickly..
Have you thought of the snip instead? I did it about 30 years ago , never regretted it..

Laska2Meryls · 24/01/2020 16:17

They are still sending me random payslips and tax codes for new pensions. but I am sure it will work itself out.. I calculate that the HMRC owe me about£800 in overpaid tax atm 🤞
We have dgs coming this weekend, hes 7 now !!

CurlsandCurves · 24/01/2020 17:19

@ememem84 can’t believe you’re back to work already, that has really flown! Like @Laska I was sterilised getting on for 8 years ago now, best decision I ever made. I know a lot of MNers say you had the babies now it’s his turn. But for me I knew no matter what I didn’t want any more kids, even if god forbid we were to split and I met someone else. DH on the other hand would have had more if I’d agreed to it, so taking the if we split argument into account I felt it was the right thing for me to go for it.

Sold the few bits I wanted to get rid of- iPhone, Xbox, Xbox games. DH thinks this is brilliant and keeps looking for other things we can sell 😆

ChristmasSeacow · 24/01/2020 18:05

Another £31 Amazon on a large but shallow Really Useful Box to go under the bed to store some of my yarn and a knitting needle size that I need.

I haven’t defrosted the mince I was going to use for dinner. So it’ll be a freezer dive for something that’s ready to eat. I have no energy left this weekend.

ChristmasSeacow · 24/01/2020 18:06

Curls was that to CEX?

SnugglySnerd · 24/01/2020 19:47

Not quite such an unspendy day as planned. We ran out of dishwasher tablets. I was going to leave it until tomorrow but I was passing the big Tesco so called in. Came out £27 lighter but it almost entirely fruit plus some cheese and the pressie I was going to get somewhere else anyway.

Wolfcub · 24/01/2020 19:52

Forgot to declare £9 for window cleaner

ememem84 · 24/01/2020 20:02

@CurlsandCurves @Laska2Meryls I have thought about it and will continue to discuss it with my gp. She said over here they’re reluctant to just do it without trying other things. So I’ve opted for the coil for now and she reckons I can get “done” by the time I’m 40 if I want to.

I still think that dh should take some responsibility

OP posts:
CurlsandCurves · 24/01/2020 20:51

@ChristmasSeacow I sold a few games to CEX but the iPhone and Xbox I managed to sell through Facebook marketplace. And got a better price than I would have done from CEX.

The guy who bought my iPhone did so purely because he’s going to Shrovetide next month which is pretty brutal and involves lots of booze, so he bought my phone purely to use so his own phone doesn’t get lost or damaged!

CurlsandCurves · 24/01/2020 20:53

Using ‘purely’ twice in one paragraph is terrible. I’m so sorry!

LaneBoy · 24/01/2020 21:42

I asked about sterilisation but it was an instant “no, your husband needs to”. He’s happy to anyway. I think if I’d had a section they would have happily done it at the same time though as a few people had that when I was in hospital.

Spends: need to do the following transfers
£12 to a friend for a couple of home ed books she’s selling
£15.60 for chess club

ememem84 · 24/01/2020 21:56

Dh has this evening asked did I know that 15% of men who have the snip end up with chronic pain afterwards. I didn’t know this.

I said I hoped he wasn’t one of the 15% and that I’d experienced pain like no other during childbirth.

But. As I’ve said before his body his choice. He knows my thoughts.

OP posts:
SnugglySnerd · 24/01/2020 21:57

I don't want dh to get the snip incase either it causes him some long-term problems or if something happened to me and he met someone else who wants kids but I'm secretly hoping for an "accident"

SnugglySnerd · 24/01/2020 22:00

Just realised that looks like I'm trying to get pregnant without telling him. I am not. It would be disastrous for us financially and completely impractical in lots of ways but I hate knowing there won't be another one! Ridiculous, I know.
