Oooo not pool

We don't really do tagging much here unless it's important as you'd just get loads of notifications for the thread. What we do is highlight the name in bold using the * either side when typing on pc or using the bold button on the app, tagging uses an @ symbol before the username and on the app brings up the listing of people on the thread usually.

Our kettle went yesterday and my four slice toaster has only been a two slice one for years which is fine for us but I've just reserved a matching set in Argos which I can bring to new house also. I'll use my €50 one for all voucher and pay balance from joint account, after all the kettle is for the household. It's nice to be buying something for the house, even though I've not secured it yet! Total cost is €65 as both items are half price. They're Breville Impressions range in Vanilla Cream, I'd prefer the Venetian Red but the kettle isn't in stock and that's the urgent thing!

I also need to purchase more wood pellets but they're not in stock until tomorrow so I'll bring a portable cold lunch tomorrow and will eat on the go at lunchtime.

Happier thanks. Trouble is I goto type then forget the name of the person I'm replying too ha ha. I have fibromyalgia and my memory is shot to pieces. Thank you for the help xxx

WingingItSince1973 · 20/01/2020 12:49

My biggest problem is Amazon and Ebay 😅 I'm trying to be restrained! But I forgot about bidding on something last week and I 'won' to the tune of £40! Doesnt sound alot but it all adds up. I'm just my own worse enemy! X

Happierwithouthim · 20/01/2020 13:58

winging I can't remember either when I'm on the app I x out of the reply I'm typing and go back to the thread and work it that way, on pc I need two windows open to keep up!

DP has a habit of loud singing in the car Madden, as his whim takes him so sweets come in very handy. 😺

Mrsmadevans · 20/01/2020 15:18

Afternoon Happier Grin

ememem84 · 20/01/2020 16:53

First hour of nursery done. I feel crazy emotional about it. I didn’t think I would...Dd was amazing. Smiley and happy and screechy. 😂 she let her new Key worker give her a bottle and a massive cuddle 😀

Now at the gym.

Em it hits us when we least expect it Thanks
Spends €24.70 Argos took out 3 year replacement insurance on kettle because lime is just a killer on the kettle. When I use it I can take out new policy for €8.49 on next kettle. Both were about half price so items worth €120 for this spend.
€3 me price on a storage box for work, will be reimbursed tomo & a notebook for minutes at voluntary work.

The urge for takeaway was strong and I considered various options before deciding to make a wrap pizza when I get home

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/01/2020 18:50

Step away from the take away.

£6 coop but they didn't have red onions so will get them y
Tomorrow

Wolfcub · 20/01/2020 18:52

Away with work. Dinner plans with friends fell through so I've taken myself to Wagamama

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/01/2020 19:04

Ah sorry to hear that wolf.

I had IKEA meatballs at home. Bleurgh. Sitting on my stomach. Going to go a slice of toast over

northender · 20/01/2020 19:09

Will catch up properly later on. Just wanted to say thankyou to @unescorted for fantastic recommendations. We had a perfect day out, walked from Chinley & had an amazing late lunch at the Old Hall Inn. Couldn't have worked out better, not particularly frugal, but good for the soul.

northender · 20/01/2020 19:25

Glorious weather too

That sounds lovely, North, you couldn't have asked for better weather. I even enjoyed break duty out in the sun and the frost today!

Well on on getting the first nursery session done, Em. I remember all ours clearly, such a big day!

I am mega-tired and dd2 is in a very strange mood so I have a feeling it'll be a bad night. She's always so happy but this evening she has just cried and cried and cried. Really hope she isn't going to throw up!

Unescorted · 20/01/2020 19:53

North glad you enjoyed it. You had cracking weather for it too. Did you go up Chinley Churn / Big Stone? If so you walked up past some of the best blackberry and billberry foraging spots.

I was planning on a NS w/e but ended up buying wine & chocolates (small Sainsbury's), bus fares (cheeky over charging rural service) and cream & eggs (local - expensive shop)…. nearly £40 in all.

I have decided to get a combined train & bus card this year - £15 more a month but I can spend that in a week on the bus. Especially if the weather is rubbish (cycling is less attractive in the wet and wind)

happier your hair looks amazing. I must get mine booked in....

Unescorted · 20/01/2020 19:59

It is a hard life living here Grin

Wolfcub · 20/01/2020 20:01

Aw Em that's come around super quick.

I am soooo full £29 but most of that I can reclaim.

Fearofawelshplanet · 20/01/2020 20:26

Mrsmadevans- fingers crossedGrin
My son lives in Cardiff (24) has for a couple of years since he left Uni. Hubby works there too.
NSD.....

LaneBoy · 20/01/2020 20:54

Hiya wingingit :) I have fibro too
£5 taxi, that’s it today as support worker gave me a lift home from the meeting :) steam room in the evening. The whole leisure centre was absolutely heaving (except, blessedly, the actual steam room - had that to myself!) - I really need to decide set times in the day to go swimming etc when I’m better, it was too peopley today!

Glad DD got on at nursery em yay!

Could totally murder a takeaway to myself right now but I’ll reheat some pasta. DH’s birthday tomorrow and we can’t go out for various reasons so might order something then if he wants.

ememem84 · 20/01/2020 21:47

Gym was tough. Home for pasta bake. Yum.

Have sorted bags for tomorrow. I’m dropping everyone in to work and nursery then taking myself and Dd to the coffee shop for coffee. Then at 10 I’m handing her over to nursery for an hour or so and hitting the gym again. Then bringing her home for snugglies.

Arrived home tonight to a bag of clothes hanging on our door. No idea where they came from. They’re all ages 3-4 and look boyish. But no actual idea. It’s not my friend who’s the usual culprit.

I’ve left them in the bag as am now not sure they’re actually for us. It’s a mystery.

££££££'s Hmm
Nevermind these fangs have to last me a lifetime well worth spending money on , in fact it's an investment! Grin

ememem84 · 21/01/2020 06:50

It is so kind. I wish that they’d left a note saying who they were from though so I could say thanks!!

I’ve put a post on Facebook asking who’s done it! I’m wondering if it was our across the road neighbours. They have a boy who’s 5. And some of the clothes are age 5. All of my friends with boys have younger boys.

Mystery!!!!

Busy morning. Currrntly listening to dh reading “oi frog!” To ds while he sits on the potty. Then doing the nursery and work run. Then coffee. Then Dd at nursery. Then the gym for some serious cardio.

North and unescorted those scenes are a tonic for the soul just looking at them! You lucky things to be living/working/visiting in them. It must make you feel alive!

Surroundings count for so much... we're contemplating a move from our inner city Victorian terrace to a much leafier 1930s semi. It's not too far away, so kids could stay at their current school. Would definitely mean the plan of 'over-pay the mortgage to pay it off this decade' would be out the window. We need to offer today and get ours on the market asap. It all sounds ideal on paper but part of me still thinks 'if in doubt, do nowt'. We're financially comfortable, could still make a few relatively low-cost changes to our house to open up the downstairs space and could be close to mortgage free by the time dds go to uni. But seeing them run around the huge garden.... 🥰.

Small spend yesterday on bread and milk.
