89.00 Morrisons (24.50 on bakin stuff, kitchen trolley to organise stuff, 2 notebook planners for twins, 2 beautiful plants reduced to £1.70) rest on weekly shop

15.00 diesel not expecting any other spends this week to be fair....

SuperMeerkat · 19/01/2020 19:18

Such an expensive weekend. £190 on replacement car keys as it snapped in the ignition 🤦‍♀️ It’s been on the way out for ages and we kept saying that we should get it sorted. Then £38.90 on lunch with friends, £13.50 on Costa, £6.50 on parking (which I could have got for free if i’d have noticed the blue badge spaces), £7 at Screwfix, £6 on coke, £6.72 on a crate of 15 ciders (glitch at the till, should have been £11), £6.20 at Tesco.

I feel faint now and need a lie down 🤦‍♀️

I pictured you as a blonde too happier

Isn't it funny how we picture our friends here? Grin

Spends today just £1.80 drink. Got to leisure centre and pool was being used for yet another gala (disadvantage of living near a flagship centre) so I couldn’t access the steam room. Waited in cafe while friend used the gym. Didn’t even enjoy the drink 🤢 🤬

SnugglySnerd · 19/01/2020 20:50

Quick check-in. I'm very tired. Just did our online shop. £82. Cannot wait until pay day, still another 9 days to go.

ememem84 · 19/01/2020 21:31

So annoying lane at ours there was a triathlon club training session so the “baby” pool was full of kids as the lane swimming was all booked out by amateur tri people and the regular swimming was being used by those who’d usually lane swim. Annoying. Also there was a cycle club thing going on outside so cars parked everywhere and the overflow carpark was closed (because cycle track runs right through it). That coupled with two churches in the vicinity meant we were crazy lucky to even get a space.

Tomorrow is my last Monday of maternity leave. One week left.

It’s also payday. But not sure if I’ll get anything.

I think I need to speak to the tax office and get some sort of breakdown of my tax statement. My rate was lowered from 26% to 19%. But I’m not sure it’s right. I think it should be more like 15%. But they’ve just sent me a new rate and no back up. Apparently switching over to a digital system has totally fucked up around 10,000 people’s tax rates. So. We shall see.

I don’t want to go there and speak to someone really. But at the moment it’s the only way I’ll get answers.

NSD here :) I walked the dog past a really really nice bakery and I didn’t buy any cake!!!

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 20/01/2020 03:23

£18 Salad, bits for pack ups, wine, bread at Marks. They also had a whole shelf of yellow stickered Colin caterpillar jelly worm things at 46p each so I bought two packs for car sweets. Can’t believe they are normally £2.

ememem84 · 20/01/2020 07:46

Bizarre start to the morning. In a good way. Ds called me into his room and asked for the potty. Which he’s never done before. He sat on it and did a poop. Again which he’s never done before. Clever boy!

Duchess we keep a constant supply of cat sweets too!

It's been a very spendy weekend 🤷‍♀️

LaneBoy · 20/01/2020 08:52

Awww well done DS em! That’s amazing 😍⭐️

Spending on a taxi this morning. Ugh. But DH is doing nursery run (flare up is a bit better but I wouldn’t manage pushing the buggy up the hill), I can’t leave until he’s back as DS is ill too.

Gosh that’s come round so quickly 😱 I forget are you going back FT? Or a few days a week?

ememem84 · 20/01/2020 08:59

4 days a week. Friday’s off. 9-5. I’ll probably end up doing 5 days work in 4 as although no ones said it it’s basically expected. That’s what friends who work reduced hours have said happens.

I’ve said I’ll be flex and will work Fridays if anyone on the team is on holiday, if we’re swamped, and if people are off sick (This will be childcare permitting as likely to be short notice).

WingingItSince1973 · 20/01/2020 09:13

Can I please join this thread? Totally let myself down this month and have spent more than I should! We have VAT to pay, car MOT and rent for our caravan! I guess I spend when I'm low. I have a few health issues which means I'm at home alot. I do walk the dogs and try swimming but I really could do with a frugal year! Xxx

Mrsmadevans · 20/01/2020 09:13

Ah em good luck
Morning mrsevans

WingingItSince1973 · 20/01/2020 09:52

Thank you. Sorry if dont tag I'm on the app and I cant work it out ha ha. I need a food shop today and usually use Tesco as it's the scan as you shop so helps me become more choosy and not just bung things in. We have enough meals already for about 4 days so just need fillers. Fridge is looking so bare as I've been using up as much as I can. Kids need yoghurts etc though. Xx
