Ooh might have to try the Morrison’s brand one em thanks. Frustrating about the dinner 😣

North I’m sorry you have to see DS go through all that, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Glad college are being supportive. I wonder if it’s worth considering an EHCP as his health needs affect his education, but as long as college are providing what he needs I guess it’s not too important.

I’m having a meeting today at the town museum to set up a home ed event. Nice to do something useful :)

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 05/10/2019 08:50

Oh that's disappointing @em, is it somewhere specific you wanted to go or is everywhere booked up?

Spends yesterday:
£88 supermarket delivery

ememem84 · 05/10/2019 09:32

thats yeah we were going to go for steak. But because it’s “tennerfest” time everywhere is booked up. Tennerfest is where loads of restaurants do special menus. Used to be 3 courses for £10. But it’s more like 3 for £17.50 now. It runs for all of October.

Bornlazy · 05/10/2019 10:17

Morning. Spends yesterday were £52 Lidl, £30 M&S on dine in for £12 and some nice biscuits and other crap Blush
Went to fundraiser last night and spent about £40 - won a bottle of gin though so not as bad. I have a mild hangover to show for it

Hope dd is better soon Meadow

WreckTangled · 05/10/2019 12:28

Cauliflower cheese soup with crispy bacon lardons for lunch 😋 and I've sorted out my wardrobe so it's much tidier and a big load of clothes to go to the clothes bank. Third load of washing is on and I'm about to take dd to a party

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/10/2019 12:33

£33 in asda. Rubbish as couldn't get half the stuff. They didn't have all bran fgs. Will stick with Sainsbury's.
£45 DS cake for his party. £20 extra for party this afternoon.

CamdenTownie · 05/10/2019 13:33

Spent £60.11 in Asda this morning, £8 in Poundland and £2 in Superdrug today, also withdrew £40 in cash and spent £20 at the market.

Meeting a friend for coffee in a little while. Kids are all busy/out today so hoping to sit down and watch a film later on.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend, the weather is cold but dry here which makes a change!

Wolfcub · 05/10/2019 15:35

£21 shirt for ds for a party
£52 diesel
£28 Morrison’s mostly brexit stuff
£58 gift shop, presents for babyshower, all my naiice Christmas cards for family, two small packs of cards for my team, a couple of stocking fillers, a couple of unique decorations and a silly happy plaque (most hated by MN) for my kitchen

moimichme · 05/10/2019 16:19

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. It's cloudy here but the rain isn't falling for a change. DH had to work today but ds and I went to the park with his scooter and to the library earlier. He had a blast. Now is napping on my knee. So cute!

I've been suffering from a strange back-of-neck/skull-ache for a few days now. It's not so bad when I take painkillers but leaning forward or standing up is a pounding pain. Almost like it's blood pressure related? Hope it goes away soon, whatever it is. I used to get migraines on occasion but this is different. Hmm.

£5 ish today on veg and rolls for the coming week, £80 breakfast yesterday for breakfast at work

moimichme · 05/10/2019 16:20

Haha that would be an extravagant breakfast!! 🤣 80p not £80!

northender · 05/10/2019 18:04

What a shame Em. Belated happy birthday wishes from me.
moi we've had a dry day here, but it has just started to rain again & is going to heave it down overnight apparently.
wreck cauliflower cheese soup with bacon sounds lovely, that may be my soup for lunches this week.
Thanks for the good wishes. lap it's a horrible condition, to all intents & purposes ds appears well & manages to play cricket, but others don't see the crashes he has

Looking forward to meal out with dparents tonight

Girliefriendlikescake · 05/10/2019 18:07

We've had a nice day, lazy morning and then met up with another new puppy owner for a walk this afternoon.

I've got a headache now though which is annoying, seem to have had loads of headaches recently for some reason. Dd is looking at me like this Hmm as I've got various clothes pegs on pressure points as read that's meant to help!!

Spent £7 in cafe earlier and £11 in the coop, they've got a deal on freezer items 5 items for £5! Seemed like a very good deal, I got a large pizza, wedges, garlic bread, ice cream and popcorn chicken!

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 05/10/2019 18:18

Ooh clothes pegs on pressure points sounds very interesting @Girliefriendlikescake, which points are they? I get a lot of headaches!
NSD for me today, I really felt like going out and spending money but DH is working and I couldn't face bringing DC to shops so frugal win I guess Confused.

Bornlazy · 05/10/2019 20:31

I got that deal from the coop girlie I also had a £2 off a £10 spend voucher and got another one with my purchases. I don't normally shop there as it is quite expensive but they've got me hooked with the vouchers Wink

ememem84 · 05/10/2019 21:52

Two new wine glasses today. Free. Woop. Coop here are doing a deal where you get a stamp for every £10 you spend. Then 20 stamps equals two free wine glasses. We do our weekky shopnjn xoop anyway. And needed glasses. Yay.

£32 riding.

Took ds to my friends dds birthday party today. He met Cinderella. He wasn’t impressed. Haha. But loved the cake and the piñata.

Home and dh had ordered Chinese. Yaaaaaay!!!

Made two loaves of sourdough. Mike (magic mike the mixer) helped.

Taking ds to the autumn fair tomorrow. Giant veggies!!! Yay!!

maddenlightfoot · 06/10/2019 08:27

Morning all! Spending carried on last week with a bit of a splurge in Ikea (£50 on not much!), however, the bag is still unpacked, I tested out a curtain id bought and it didn't look right so that's definitely going back. I might keep the other stuff (mainly napkins and food bags 😂) until the end of the month before deciding whether to take back.

Great name for your mixer em! We've borrowed a breadmaker and have experimented a bit. Gf loaf 1 was quite a success but loaf 2 almost set the house on fire 😱

The leftover biryani I made last week and froze was eaten last night and it was a huge success! Will definitely do that again. Tesco shop arrived this morning so will be doing some batch cooking today.

Wolfcub · 06/10/2019 09:27

Mmm I love biryani, especially now I can make it in the instant pot

We are having leftover roast chicken sandwiches for lunch and sausages for tea.

Hopefully a nsd, going to take a coffee with me to ds’s match this morning so should be no need to buy anything there and it’s too wet to go out

Car insurance due Monday so have transferred money from savings into current account to pay for that

ememem84 · 06/10/2019 09:47

One load of laundry done and on the line by 830 This morning.

Treated ds to crumpets and chocolate spread for breakfast. With a fruit bowl to balance it out. 😂

Today we’re going to the autumn fair. Going to show ds the cows and giant veggies. Probably around £8 for entry for dh and me. If we go for 4pm the cake will be auctioned off....!!

Marathon here today. Work have put a team in. I’ve jokingly said to dh I’m going to run the whole thing before I’m 40. So 5 years to train....will more likely do a leg of the relay race. So a max of 10k.

maddenlightfoot · 06/10/2019 11:19

£££s saves this morning - unsuccessful at getting Glasto tickets 😩

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 06/10/2019 11:20

Hi all.
Glad I found you all again!
I'm just going to rejoin from here.
Hope you are all well.

Been a couple of difficult weeks. My youngest is having a hard time at school, and is still sad about me and her dad separating. Also she thinks she has feelings for a girl, told a couple of friends, wasn't very well received and then self harmed whilst at school.
School have been fantastic and have put things in place for her to see a play therapist.
DD2 seems a bit better now, so will just have to see how she goes.

It has been a spendy couple of weeks.
Have to start being frugal again.

Bornlazy · 06/10/2019 11:29

Oh Curvy what a worry for you, but at least the school are supporting you Flowers. It’s hard to be frugal when you’ve got all that going on.

Nsd yesterday. Might be going to cinema and out for dinner depending on what DSs want to do 🙄 I have Groupon odeon tickets and will go somewhere I can use my tastecard

ememem84 · 06/10/2019 11:38

Sourdough. Ta da!

I’ve done another’s load of laundry. It’s windy and cold but bright here. Ds is napping. Dd is napping. Dh is still in pjs.

Dishwasher unloaded. I’m having a stab at tidying our bedroom. It’s a bit messy.

Friendly frugaleers as the leaves fall our bank balances will rise, hopefully!
WreckTangled · 06/10/2019 11:40

Oh curvy that's so horrible for you and your dd2 I hope the therapist is sorted quickly and can help to get her through Thanks

I've tidied/dusted/hoovered the sitting room and made four mini low carb pizzas for lunches next week.

Doing a roast later 😋

northender · 06/10/2019 12:27

curvy FlowersFlowersFlowers for you. Dd had counselling a few years ago, through school & it really helped her. It is so hard to watch as a parent, you feel so helpless. We're here for you.
Em sourdough looks good.
wolf how have you found the instant pot? I missed out on the Amazon deal last year & am thinking it will probably come up again this time so need to decide if I would get value from it.

Spends yesterday were £42 groceries, 60p on a drink before the football, £10 tip at restaurant (dparents paid for everything else)
Today I need a few bits at aldi & then get ready for the week. I have had a radical kitchen clear out so we now have more space & actually know what we have in there! Satisfying & frugal I think.

CurlsandCurves · 06/10/2019 14:11

Hugs @CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces I’ve got a friend whose daughter is having a similar tough time and is self harming. Hope the school are supportive to you both.

Had a really nice weekend, quite chilled. Blitzed the house then went to the park with DS2. DH was working both the day and night and DS1 left for Scarefest at Alton Towers at 9.30am, so just me and the littlest. £2.50 on car parking, £5 ish on a coffee for me and an ice cream and a drink for DS.

NSD today, we are all just chilling out. Made banana bread and swore I wasn’t going to touch it, but couldn’t resist! Sat here with a cuppa and a nice big slice of it.
