I love kids don't get me wrong but I am stuck on a train opposite a child who is booting me in both knees every 15 seconds. It's going to be a long journey

Happierwithouthim · 12/11/2019 16:56

girlie how is it 3 years already? Wow!

Em well done to your dh for sticking up for you properly to his father.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/11/2019 17:15

That was my thought snuggly. The 1950s want their run aways back.
Nice to see you back btw.
It's the daughter I feel sorry for, bless her.

I like the second one better on the boards.

Nsd here but WFH and feeling that way out.
Boo disappointing hotel breakfast.

I'm sick of my job. Spent a lot of the last week rolling my eyes. Time for a change. Anyone any good at writing g7 civil service apps? I'll pay you in baked goods.

Im proud of dh for sticking up for me if I’m honest. Guess that’s us off the Christmas list....!!

The funny thing is the gf is a “I’m
a strong independent woman no one tells me what to do I’m mad me and speaks my mind so don’t be offended that’s just who I am” type. in other words words a twat

SnugglySnerd · 12/11/2019 18:25

Thanks for the welcome back.

Wolf did you get off the train yet?

northender · 12/11/2019 19:54

Em absolutely stuck in some bygone era. Glad dh stood up to them.
Seacow am I so predictable?!! It is generally practicality first for me, I admit. Where shower tiles are concerned, I think the hard or softness of the water makes a huge difference. The source of our water changed a few years ago and since then, the shower needs cleaning much more frequently. I like the sound of the Method spray snuggly
Life good luck with the application, I've seen a Grade 7 job I think dh should go for, but he seems scared of the new application scheme!

Not feeling great still and had a very poor experience with a GP today. I'm a respiratory physio with a resp condition so I look after myself well and only take ABs when I really need to. Booked an appt this morning and came away with the advice to inhale steam and take paracetamol. He questioned why I had been given my diagnosis and gave me no advice about altering my inhaler use at the moment & then gave me a script for the wrong strength of inhaler. He listened to my chest through my uniform & was just generally poor. He didn't know I'm a resp physio as when I go to the GP I want to be northender the patient, not northender the professional. Anyway, after venting to the rest of the team, I came home early & got some rest & have started a course of antibiotics that I have in the cupboard. I have made an appointment to see a GP I know well to discuss a better plan for me when I need it & I will tell her I've taken the antibiotics.

BUT on a brighter note...............the Tobago flight money has been refunded!!!!!!! It has happened so quickly once Opodo said they wouldn't be refunding. Such a relief.

Wolfcub · 12/11/2019 19:55

Life I can help with the application

northender · 12/11/2019 19:56

Sorry, it was wolf recommending the shower spray. Good to see you back though snuggly

Wolfcub · 12/11/2019 20:00

North I think it was both of us. Double frugaleer recommends are always good Grin

I am finally off the train, my house is 13 degrees. Brrrrr! The kid was very cute, the application of loud music made it bearable and his family were great at keeping him engaged.

Em well done to dh for sticking up to you fil is way way out of line

CurseofTheIroningBoard · 12/11/2019 20:44

It's been a low spend week so far due to being at my overdraft limit therefore forced to spend nothing. Apart from a £1 scratch card I found in my wallet that meant I could buy milk. That's my budgeting wizardry so far :)

I have a full belly and a warm home, so I'm happy.

More to come. Need to claim some expenses.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/11/2019 21:03

Thanks wolf.

Dh has done a food shop. More veg!

Dd was being so adirably cute and lovely. Bathed her, dressed her in jammies and dressing gown, had her last bottle, laughed and grinned at me. Then sicked. Everywhere. She’s lucky she’s cute.

maddenlightfoot · 13/11/2019 06:30

Hi snuggly! It's so hard to keep up in the depths of Autumn Term - it swallows up whole chunks of time and energy!

North that's brilliant about the Tobago money!!! What a relief!

Em my first baby was a non-sicker. Literally could count on one hand the amount of times she's ever been sick. Would stay in one outfit from dawn til dusk (sometimes longer if I was feeling particularly lazy), and I really began to believe that muslins were just some bizarre new-parent money-making scheme as we never had use for them.

Then the other two arrived 🤮🤮🤮🤮 !!!!

SnugglySnerd · 13/11/2019 07:04

You're not wrong there, Madden! Half term already feels like a distant memory.

2 out of our 3 were sicky babies. Between them and the cat I felt like I spent about 3 years scrubbing the carpet!

ememem84 · 13/11/2019 08:15

Ds wasn’t a sicker. Dd isn’t all the time but sometimes....

Another successful night in her cot. Although this morning she wasn’t at the bottom of it where I’d left her. She was sideways in the middle. #wriggly

Plancina · 13/11/2019 08:44

em wow, I can’t believe that!!! How rude, your FIL needs a good slap. Good for you for standing up to them. “Top woman” 🙄

Speaking of mad in laws, My ex MIL was on to exH demanding he get my engagement ring back. We were married for ten years! He told her to wise up.

Ended up spending £17 on a taxi home as we had a work event and it went on til 1030pm and I couldn’t face the icy wet cycle home. I did cycle in this morning though.
Weds is my crazy day at work, I teach 7 hours on the trot, thankfully Lunch is in the middle so I do get one hour off.

LivingInLaputa · 13/11/2019 10:18

God I know it must be really annoying to be in the situation yourself em but they're like sitcom characters 😂

On way to London as mum booked a show for us ages ago (man in the white coat with Stephen Mangan) and going to bravissimo first. Really crap timing with starting the meds but I’m making the best of it!

Travelcard nearly £24 (Sussex) 😱 I really need to get my own railcard for when I’m travelling without kids. I can get a disabled one, which I seem to recall has fewer restrictions on use.

WreckTangled · 13/11/2019 11:11

Lap I go from billingshurst and it's £13 return if you go off peak and book in advance. That's not counting my network railcard that's gives me another 30% off. I always book through thetrainline.

LivingInLaputa · 13/11/2019 11:37

Wow that’s good, does that let you use the underground too?

Currently in bravissimo waiting for a fitting :o

WreckTangled · 13/11/2019 12:49

No I use my contactless card for the tube and busses. Hope you get a good bra! I'm too small for bravissimo BlushGrin

ememem84 · 13/11/2019 14:42

Happy bra shopping lap

It is like a sitcom.

SnugglySnerd · 13/11/2019 19:23

Dd2 always ends up sideways/upside down/on the floor in the night too Em!

Busy day today. Got loads done though at work and it was an NSD. First one for about a week. Needed that!

LivingInLaputa · 13/11/2019 20:35

£124 bravissimo - that’s one normal bra one sports bra and one swimsuit. 😱 That was courtesy of mum (early birthday present) ❤️ #spoiled

I’ll probably order another bra of the same in a different colour later but I’ll wait a few weeks.

Obligatory epic sharing pudding photo (mum had both glasses of the drink though).

Friendly frugaleers as the leaves fall our bank balances will rise, hopefully!
northender · 13/11/2019 21:29

Sounds like a lovely day laputa
Managed work today, but it was a struggle. Really glad I started the ABs yesterday, just waiting to start feeling better now. I have 2 days off now with some nice things planned as its my birthday on Friday so hoping to wake up feeling brighter tomorrow.

ememem84 · 13/11/2019 21:47

£16 on lunch for me and colleague. Bacon cheese burger. #relapsedvegan

In all fairness this lunch had been booked in before the vegan thing happened. So it was an allowed cheat. My god it was good.
