Aww thanks madden, it's ok, we all have busy lives x
Yes I will, thank you x

WreckTangled · 16/10/2019 20:04

Woah I am so shocked at EWFL already Shock bloody diabetic too! Ffs

Curvy hope you're resting

northender · 16/10/2019 20:13

I thought of you wreck when they said they're both diabetics, shocking in so many ways

maddenlightfoot · 16/10/2019 20:20

😱😱😱 EWFL!!

WreckTangled · 16/10/2019 20:21

Honestly I'm struggling to find any sympathy for them at all. They have no excuse they're just greedy and lazy.

But the nice side of me wants to accept that they have a sugar addiction and have never learnt to cook which is why they are eating like they do.

Now I want chocolate!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/10/2019 20:40

Yes I am wreck.
I will have to watch EWFL on catch up.

ememem84 · 16/10/2019 20:48

Just watching ewfl. What the actual.....?!

I mean don’t get me wrong I like sugary food. But say what now?!?!

ememem84 · 16/10/2019 20:51

Been to dparents with the kiddos for dinner. Homemade chicken korma. Yummo. And a portion for dh for when he gets home from work/lunch tomorrow.

We’re home now. Ds is in bed asleep. I think Dd is. I might have nailed this parenting two kids malarkey......!!!!

Catface is on my lap all cuddly.

Since we’ve been home I’ve done a load of laundry, well put it in the machine and set the timer, have thrown a load in the dryer, fed catface, washed up, sterilised bottles, emptied bins. Now on couch with my friend Gin-niffer.

ememem84 · 16/10/2019 20:55

Trying to work out how old the couple are. If they’re say in their late 50’s early 60’s they’d have been born in the 60’s? So the beginning of the convenience generation? Which might explain the almost binging

Happierwithouthim · 16/10/2019 21:14

€6.40 on takeaway & it was bloody delicious crispy shredded chicken with spicy chips, my lips are tingling Grin
Other use for my spare time would have been clothes shopping so I didn't do that Smile

Girliefriendlikescake · 16/10/2019 21:44

Omg ewfl was so ridiculous!! We were trying to work out how old they are as well, probably a good ten years younger than my mum although they look 10 years older than her!! I mean I have a sweet tooth but jeez 😱

My dad was a type two diabetic who basically cured himself by cutting out carbs almost completely! We like sweet treats but I just worked out the last can of coke I had was two years ago...

I'm feeling 😇 about our dinner of baked salmon with pesto served with rice and veg 🤣

Bornlazy · 16/10/2019 21:44

Hey Curvy glad you’ve had the op and are ok. Rest up and take it easy while you can.

I hate bras!! I really should go for a professional fitting but can’t face having to expose my flab to strangers and then there’s the price, plus I lob all of mine in the washing machine which is obviously a no go with a £40 bra...

I have started my Christmas shopping 🙈 so probably won’t have any nsds for a while.

Bornlazy · 16/10/2019 21:47

I’m going to need to watch ewfl now to see if they’re worse than me Blush

ememem84 · 16/10/2019 22:04

I throw my bras in the washer.

I also like a sweet treat. But man that’s a lot!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/10/2019 00:03

Well ewfl was mad, wasn't it? So much sugar, and she is a nurse, beggars belief really!

Thanks Born, luckily we have half term next week, so I can recover more before going back to work.

WreckTangled · 17/10/2019 06:28

She was 59 and he was 58 it said at the beginning.

This week is going so slowly last working day at least.

Girlie good for your dad. It's not easy but it's worth it

maddenlightfoot · 17/10/2019 06:41

I missed that she was a nurse, blummin Nora! However, they did appear to have changed lots of habits by the end.

I still have one more week to go until half term as we don't break up until 25th Oct.

WreckTangled · 17/10/2019 06:44

We don't either madden. It's a long slog the dc are exhausted and so am I! I also thought I had loads of time to get everything done and now I'm really busy trying to squeeze it all in before half term...

Wolfcub · 17/10/2019 07:18

I missed ewfl last night due to sporting activities will watch on catch up

My bras also go in the machine

I have been a little bad for sweet treats this week as work had been so bloody depressing

ChristmasSeacow · 17/10/2019 07:24

Glad you are making a good recovery Curvy

Loving the property chat Happier - exciting times. I say go for the one that gives you the feels - as long as the location is practical.

Bras 🙄 I am a 34JJ and even now am showing signs of 4 boobs I have to shop at bravissimo and have very little choice. I basically buy two styles in black, white and nude and that’s my lot!

I was out last night (knitting at pub - but forgot my pattern so just at the pub Grin) so I missed EWFL. Am dying to watch it now, will iPlayer it later.

I am really annoyed this morning. DH has found all the contents of the freezer completely defrosted -ffs. He didn’t notice whether the door wasn’t properly shut or not, so I don’t know whether it is broken or just left open. But I think I am going to have to throw lots of stuff away. There’s 2 sides of salmon, mince, all sorts Sad. I guess we’ll eat salmon tonight! I really hope it’s not broken, it’s a big American-style fridge freezer and it would be v expensive to replace.

Day off with DD today. We are going for a play date at a school mum’s who has a child in DS’s class and a DD a little older than my DD. Tbh I’m not too excited - she’s a nice lady but very intense so not relaxing company, iykwim. But I think she sometimes feels a bit on the edge of things and finds it hard to make friends. She has invited me a couple of times before when I couldn’t go so I feel I should make the effort. Have errands to do too.

Plancina · 17/10/2019 07:31

Hello Smile my DP has lost his job and so we need to budget, he is applying for other things but until he gets something I will be the sole earner. He is getting a small redundancy payment but we’d rather not use it up, so we need to try and live on my salary.
Reading for tips!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/10/2019 07:38

It was DS curvy he has a heart condition which they were hoping he would grow out of. It was a routine check.

Bornlazy · 17/10/2019 08:06

Hello Plancina sorry to hear that about your DP’s job. Hope he finds something else soon. Do you have dc and Christmas to budget for?

The thing that saves me the most money is meal planning. I write out a 7-10 day plan then go through what I already have and what I’ll need to buy and then I shop. It sounds simple but before doing that I’d throw all sorts of random crap in my trolley with no clue what I was actually having for dinner that night.

Cashback sites are another tip that is easy to do as using Quidco and TopCashback for online purchases only takes an extra minute but it soon mounts up. I am amazed at the people who don’t use them, in fact most of the people I know don’t.

Going to a funeral this morning and then some diy this afternoon. Might be nsd.

Littlechocola · 17/10/2019 08:20

I found you!

I’ve been caught up in new job, illness and general chaos so haven’t posted.

Things were going well financially this month until I had to buy glasses. I’ve never worn them before. Why are pretty ones so expensive! And £30 to tell me that I can’t see?! I know I can’t see.

CamdenTownie · 17/10/2019 08:22

Hi everyone,

Haven't been around for a Few days, just so busy!

Last night I took 4 girls to see Ariana Grande, didn't get home until 1am and was up for work just after 5am 😴 so, so tired.

I'll be interested in watching EWFL as dh is type 2 diabetic, he's 5ft 10 and about 11.5 stone, but has so many health complications that they all seem to make each other worse 🤷🏻‍♀️ feel awful for him.

We have used almost all of the budget this month, just had to pay home insurance which was £400, 8 days to payday and we have £100 in the current account and £68 in Monzo food budget. I don't think there are any DD's to come out but not 100% sure.

Need to keep away from the Christmas bargains thread too.

Looking forward to the weekend, dd2 has dance shows both Saturday and Sunday, so I'm looking forward to seeing that on Saturday evening.
