em I like the dresser, looks lovely 😁

laputa could you get a couple of those flexibasket things to tip the shopping into? Or some big Ikea bags? I'm sure the delivery man won't mind helping. or add a note on the delivery bit explaining you require some extra help when it's delivered.

today's spends £3 in Tesco, £45 Iceland, £27 aldi, £15 Sainsbury's, £5.50 bus home.
then £22 train, £50 ferry for our trip to the isle of Wight next week. some of the above food is bits to take with us.

plus I bought a Dyson v7 animal on buy now pay later with very, they sent me a 10% off code. worked out we pay back £33 a month which is doable and will make such a difference. it actually picks up the cat hair and i can manage it easier than the Henry which was killer on my hips (still have days I struggle from the spd i had with dd2) listing Henry and the handheld Hoover up for sale later for first months payment :)

dining table has sold on Facebook for £20 as my mum's partner has made us a new one, it's beautiful. he burnt the wood himself and stained the top deep purple 😍

Girliefriendlikescake · 22/08/2019 18:38

Busy day here with work and juggling child/puppy care!

Puppy has been quiet today and not really interested in food so hoping he's not poorly. He seems happy enough chewing on his toys at the moment though! Have been looking at doggy day care as there are a few days where I'm in meetings all day and my mum can't help. It's £22 a day and my mum will go halves so not too bad really. Anyway going to have a look at a place on Monday.

Managed to leave my lunch at home again today 🤦‍♀️ £5 lunch from the co op. I also bought my best friend a gift for her 40th last night £24 for a personalised picture gift.

Rightwayup · 22/08/2019 18:53

Need to hop back on. Done lots of overtime which is great but then keep buying stuff justified by the overtime. But volunteered for the overtime in order to get credit card paid off. Petrol today and as away need to buy dinner later

Wolfcub · 22/08/2019 19:02

Life, have you tried the bell tents at yha Windermere? Would you recommend?

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/08/2019 19:06

We did the tee pee wolf but could see the bell tents from the outside. The site was lovely yes would recommend.

WreckTangled · 22/08/2019 19:38

Have got ham hock in the fridge for dinner tomorrow. Use by 19th August. It's not opened it'll be fine won't it?!

SnugglySnerd · 22/08/2019 19:56

£31 on new shoes for ds plus £2.50 on parking. He is very happy with his new shoes, I think his old ones were getting a bit uncomfortable.

GCSE results were good. My predictions were spot on! It was nice to see the kids pick up their results today. They were pleased on the whole.

Just catching up with SWFL. The little boy wearing £50 aftershave is making me feel a bit sad. Goodness knows why he feels the need.

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/08/2019 20:31

Great news about the GCSE snug.
Not sure wreck. I wouldn't but others might. I sniff test most things but not use by

Wolfcub · 22/08/2019 20:47

Would you recommend a teepee over a bell tent Life? They are the same price but no pictures of inside

ememem84 · 22/08/2019 22:57

Spends today:

£14 M&S - Colin caterpillar cake for Dhs birthday on Saturday plus some sweeties
£11 something In boots - formula and bath foam
£11 pharmacy a two face masks, some medium flor bottle tears, and some Infacol
£4.20 three ice creams at the park.

Ds has learned to say “oi mummy!” Which is hilarious! He also worked out ice lollies are cold...

Dd is really struggling with wind. Poor thing. It seems as though I’m the only one who is actively trying to wind her. But maybe I’m imagining that. It’s taking her ages to burp after each feed. And not always successfully. I know her digestion system is brand new and she’s still getting used to formula but god it’s frustrating.

I have vague memories of ds being like this with formula initially so this too shall pass. But any tips on winding quickly would be super useful!

CamdenTownie · 23/08/2019 05:52

Happy Friday!!

So tired this morning, I met my friend for dinner last night and didn't get in until midnight😬 but I'm off next week so I need to struggle through this!

Spent £20 on dinner last night (had a voucher) but that was it, so not bad.

Nothing else to report, hope everyone's well!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/08/2019 06:15

The teepee we were in had a double and 2 single futons inside with a stove and a chest. There was a little bit of room but not much else.
Having stayed in a bell tent at another site I recall they were marginally bigger.
There is nothing between the 2 really to pick one over the other. We just did teepee for the novelty.
When are you going?

Yesterday spends = £0

Happierwithouthim · 23/08/2019 06:40

Spends yesterday
€13.47 topup shop - got some nice reduced bits in that
€23 takeaway
€4.20 lunch

Wreck I'd smell the ham & decide then

Snuggly great news on results

northender · 23/08/2019 06:41

wreck I'd definitely use the ham. If it's vacuum packed then there is always an odd smell when you open it, but that goes.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/08/2019 06:47

Actually wolf go bell tent. The view and outdoor space are better on that site

Wolfcub · 23/08/2019 06:49

Life I booked the teepee in the end on the basis it had the stove - the bell tents at Windermere don’t and the weather is looking iffy so warm is good. I was very tempted by the weird looking landpod at derby but that was more expensive so another time for that. Going late next week.

Em we used to do lay baby along length of arm - head near elbow, hand under tum, legs dangling, that helped a bit. Also the vibrating chair.

Wreck I absolutely wouldn’t use the ham. I will use anything else thY goes past it’s date except meat

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/08/2019 07:08

Fab wolf. They provided one pack of fuel while we were there too. Going to investigate Derby. Would have met you but I'm working next week

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/08/2019 07:09

Ponders sneaky day off to stalk wolf Grin

WreckTangled · 23/08/2019 07:17

Infacol em?

Online says that ham lasts 1-2 weeks unopened past its use by. Dh will he cooking so I'll leave it up to him..

Work today and holiday tomorrow. No idea when I'm going to pack.

ememem84 · 23/08/2019 07:31

Already using infacol. Will try holding her as suggested though.

Dh is awake. Ds is asleep. Dd is asleep. And it’s 730. This almost never happens.

WreckTangled · 23/08/2019 07:48

Dd was awful to wind and ds was easy although he was bf I'm not sure it was that that made the difference. It's so annoying though when you know there's a burp there and you just can't get it out!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 23/08/2019 07:49

snuggly great news about your students :)

em have you tried baby massage for the wind? I went on a course with dd1 and it helped her. the only bits I remember is you rub their tummy clockwise, bring knees up to their tummy and sort of rock them. plus cycling motions with their legs. I'm sure YouTube will have more on it. plus we raised her cot up one side, we had rolled up towels under one end of the mattress so she wasn't lying flat.

will be a bit spendy today, going to a cat cafe, apparently loads of cats to snuggle and stroke and feed dreamies to! DD's are going to love it! then a big park, so probably a couple cups of tea, ice creams and the train fare 😁

Bornlazy · 23/08/2019 08:16

Spendy few days. Getting ds2 new carpet, new furniture and painting his room. Took five bin bags of rubbish/charity shop out of his room and I bet it’s still full to bursting. I am knackered and I need to start painting today and I’ve got a night out tonight 🙈 Camden I don’t know how you do it. I was up till just after midnight and got up at 7 to face the day and feel like death warmed up.

em having you tried sitting her forward whilst supporting her chin with one hand and rubbing her back with the other? Have you got anti colic bottles?

Wreck I definitely wouldn’t eat the ham when you’re going on holiday. Imagine you all got food poisoning and it totally ruined it 😱
