Looks good - matches your flooring and your table & chairs 👍🏻

Wolfcub · 21/08/2019 16:19

Agree it looks good Em and you have the option of paining in the future If styles change

Wolfcub · 21/08/2019 17:41

£15 Sainsbury’s top up shop including yellow sticker paella and lemon tart for an easy tea and yellow sticker English muffins for breakfast

LivingInLaputa · 21/08/2019 17:53

So sorry wreck :(

Can anyone recommend any podcasts? I just tried one today for the first time (British library) and I want some more to try, nothing heavy though because my concentration is worse than that dog from Up when he sees a squirrel.

(Totally outed myself if anyone is on the same huge FB group where I just asked, but hey ho give me a wave 😂)

Don't paint it em. Looks good like that.
Enjoy the food wreck.
Soz know nothing about pod casts

Frugal fail. Had to throw some stew beef as past use by £7 worth.
£81 hair, £52 childcare, £17 aldi

Happierwithouthim · 21/08/2019 20:02

Em for comparison, this is mine which is painted! I hope to get cabinets in lower half when I move house

Life snap I've just opened steak gone past it's use by date. Cooked it up & might treat the dog 🐕

Bornlazy · 21/08/2019 20:22

Must be the boy's turn to be outrageous today. Ds2 has been talking back slamming doors and generally being a PITA today. He is 14 and has always been quite a laidback child so its a shock to the system.

Cabinet looks like it goes well unpainted em

Wolfcub · 21/08/2019 20:55

Lap you could try downloading the bbc sounds app. It’s free and there are narrated books on there (serialised) as well as all sorts of radio programmes, comedy bits, documentaries and other stuff

CamdenTownie · 21/08/2019 21:31

I sometimes download podcasts on Spotify and listen to Womens hour or fortunately with Fi and Jane, the AIBU one is quite good but it has this really annoying advert for silent pool gin that makes me angry! Lol

ememem84 · 21/08/2019 22:19

£38 today on lunch for myself mil and ds. Dd has milky. We took ds to the park too. Dh missed out today because a) I’ve missed out a few other days, b) he was busy wrestling the cabinet and c) we needed to get mil out of the house as Fil helped dh.

Was nice actually. We hadn’t had lunch together for a very long time. As in just us. Bridges are being mended. I’m still cautious. But efforts being made on both sides.

Also she’s so so good with ds. He is loving having his nanny around. She’s spoiled him with attention and has knackered him out every day. She chased him round the garden this evening for practically an hour. He went down to sleep without a fight. 😂😂

maddenlightfoot · 21/08/2019 22:36

Em I was going to say that painted is good but a lot of fiddly faff, however I love how happier's is with painted outer - could be quite a quick job? Either way, it fits perfectly in the space.

£30.01 petrol (annoying as I couldn't use contactless 😡). However, a NCD (non-spending on crap day)

LivingInLaputa · 21/08/2019 22:46

Definitely need to listen to that here happier 🙈😂 and I will check out the others suggested thanks :) I think I’m going to need a lot more rest in the immediate future as this flare up isn’t going anywhere 🤬 so it would be good to have something else to occupy my brain.

wreck that's rubbish, I could cry for you too.
girlie teens & pre teens can be a selfish, thoughtless bunch.
I haven't ventured into the world of podcasts yet, so am no help at all!
life I hate having to throw food away

This week is the first in my 3 madly busy ones & its living up to expectations! Mum's 80th is tomorrow & I still have photos to print & an album to assemble, I am going to be in productive mode tonight. So tomorrow is a ladies birthday brunch (for 26!) followed by the afternoon/evening at local seaside town for dparents, the 4 of us & auntie. I've paid for hire of a beach hut for the day & local places deliver food to order so no food to worry about. Plenty to do locally to suit all ages & my grumpy dad can sit & sleep in beach hut if he wants!

northender · 22/08/2019 06:27

em glad those bridges are being built with mil.

SnugglySnerd · 22/08/2019 08:54

GCSE results day! About to check how my class did. Always a bit nerve-wracking!

Happierwithouthim · 22/08/2019 09:00

If you have instagram laputa she's trishas.transformation on that & is very entertaining.

My dresser came like that em

WreckTangled · 22/08/2019 09:01

Ah snuggly I'm sure they did great!

LivingInLaputa · 22/08/2019 11:00

Ooh good luck snuggly hope all is well.
Em I think the dresser looks fab. You could always just leave it for a while and then if it gets a bit tired then spruce it up in a few years.
I should really try instagram happier

Just had our first officially bagless Tesco delivery. My hands are killing now. It’s a tiny change, but picking up loads of individual items is a lot harder on my wrists/fingers (which are , and pathetically weak when I’m in flare up like today) than carrying a few bags. I’m going to have to be brave next time and ask the driver to unpack it for me, but I really struggle asking for help like that as I don’t look ill. What if they think I’m lazy?! 🙈 Luckily DH is usually here.

Missed a word, that was meant to say my wrists are hypermobile 🤦‍♀️

Hope you feel better soon Laputa - that sounds rough!

I like it as is, too, em. Well done with your MIL and so great she's keeping your ds busy!

Curvy I've been using a budgeting app called Emma and it seems quite good so far. Not sure if it's on iPhone as well though.

moimichme · 22/08/2019 14:20

Nsd yesterday and today! Grin

maddenlightfoot · 22/08/2019 14:46

£9.96 on a notebook, bath bomb and card for my nieces birthday. I already have a £10 Amazon voucher and a little gift bag to present it all in. Her birthday isn't until the end of September but as I'm seeing her this weekend figured at least I'd save on postage!

As part of turning over a new frugal leaf I've started jotting down any and every extra spend that will be coming up in September. The list is becoming scarily long: term of gym class, term of forest school, 1x leaving doo, 1x wedding, kitty for nanny, our dts birthday, savings for holidays next year, saving as I'm sure dishwasher is on its way out. These aren't unusual spends in themselves but it's very grounding to look at this list before the month starts so that we're realistic about what our actual disposable income is after all commitments are taken into account 😱
