Justanothermile · 07/02/2019 18:29

I tried work on the Wednesday girlie as I needed to pay the wages, which is awful I know but I had to do it. I stayed an hour and went home and it didn't do me any favours.

Haven't had the jab....go on, I'll accept the virtual ticking off...😂

Justanothermile · 07/02/2019 18:37

Thought you'd understand unescorted, it can be hard to remain unaffected at times.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/02/2019 18:39

Tut Tut jam that'll learn you!

Unescorted · 07/02/2019 18:43

True - I have to give myself a stern talking to when he goes into his hole. I wish my family & in laws were as enlightened as your mil. Apparently it is not a real illness, my fault, all in my mind etc depending who I offload to. I just don't bother anymore. Ignore them and ignore him. (can you guess where we are up to in his cycle? - roll on summer]

Justanothermile · 07/02/2019 18:43

😁

Ps unescorted, it was the thing stopping her choosing it as it's the perfect course and a good university. She wasn't sure it was far enough away. She's going to live in halls though and I've told her she's as far away as she wants to be, I'm not going to be descending on her all the time.

Unescorted · 07/02/2019 18:46

hahaahaha! bless her. I am guessing it will be close enough for washing services.

Justanothermile · 07/02/2019 18:46

Gosh, how unhelpful of the family! Mil gets it as she's lived it long enough. I know, it's awful to be resentful of them mid cycle and you try to rationalise it as illness but actually, when someone is down and has been for months, it's hard not to be dragged in yourself. It's totally fine to be fed up with them.

Cagliostro · 07/02/2019 18:58

Relieved to hear from you jam sorry you’ve been ill. Does sound like it may have been flu as you are normally such a hardy sort 😁 I agree about the overuse of the word. I forgot to get my flu jab too.

Em don’t worry about holding it all together. Sometimes you need to fall apart a bit, in order to put yourself back together in the right order. ❤️

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2019 20:30

Sorry unescorted missed you were having a tough time.
Thanks all. He will be fine, no one was worried. It's just a long and tiring day. Went to the gym.
Sorry your week hasn't got better.
I love booths. It's my treat when we go to the lakes. Need to convince dh so at the Ripon one when we go there, hasn't worked yet.

Unescorted · 07/02/2019 20:30

Ds has come down with lurgy & I am not feeling great. Just in time for the weekend. Oh Yay, oh yay.

em cag is right - you come back more resilient.

I am worried that I am getting pop up ads for high quality printing for artists, bell tents, tea and erectile dysfunction. Maybe that is why the grumpy one is grumpy.

Unescorted · 07/02/2019 20:37

life it is minor level dissatisfaction. I am ignoring and it will go away one way or the other.

Ripon is almost the lakes.... Grin. Sign up for a Booths card - you get half price coffee in the café (officially my favourite meeting room for this simple fact) and also random discounts on things. Today I got a lovely shopping tote for £1.50. It is now my favourite (if slightly middle class aspirational). I have quite a collection of shopping totes because I gave up on plastic bags about 15 years ago and therefore it is a proper accolade. Maybe I should have an awards ceremony of totes and other shopping bags.

Unescorted ShockBlushGrin

We don't have booths down here.

Need to food shop tomorrow also dd needs new trainers for school and they both need new school shoes 😭😭 I'm not buying Geox school shoes again as they've not lasted at all.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2019 20:54

Ha unescorted, Ripon is South for us and ironically we go there loads to the national trust places nearby.
Keswick is the booths we frequent most.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2019 20:54

About twice a year

LonelyOversharer · 07/02/2019 21:13

Ffs MN logged me out! I never log out, just leave my pages open on tabs! I'm surprised I remembered my password.

jam so glad you are feeling better. Do us a favour and take it easy getting back running? You don't need to get 101% back fit straight away

I don't think I spent any money today. I really really really want to buy a fully loaded poly tunnel though. Can I dress this up as brexit planning?? At over £800 I guess not. 10ft x 25ft. Base rails, irrigation, staging, the lot.

Dp has his "urgent" scans on sunday. Wait:5 months. I hope this will lead to some sort of fusing surgery which will reduce his pain. He has a literal pain in the arse, and thus is one. Constantly.

ememem84 · 07/02/2019 21:15

lonely mn had a data breach. Again. They’ve forced a log out. There’s a thread in site stuff. Sigh

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/02/2019 21:26

Good news about the uni jam.
Hope the scan gives some need and is a next step to a treatment plan.

Wolfcub · 07/02/2019 21:29

Life those are my fave NT places. We go about twice a year.
The one thing I miss about my daily commute to Manc is a lunchtime tootle around booths. It was not frugal despite the free coffee as there were too many interesting things to buy. I sometime pop into the Ilkley one if ds has a match there

I love ordering Christmas stuff from booths too. Excellent Xmas catalogue and amazing stollen bites

Just finished a really shitty week at work. I’ve been in an absolute rage all day which is not like me but I am really ducked off and fed up

Unescorted if you ever need a break and an ear then cake and tea and a meet are available

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 07/02/2019 22:01

I spent £20 something in morrisons today, more b day bits. I wanted to get dd a helium filled balloon picked up the numbers 1 3 and they went through at £12 😮 needless to say they went back! Got two smaller ones for £5 instead.

SneakyGremlins · 07/02/2019 22:18

I've never heard of Booths!

northender · 07/02/2019 23:59

We have Booths a 5-10 minute walk away. I shop at aldi, but have certain things that I buy at Booths as its so handy for us (eg. Longley farm dairy products)
life hope your ds is okay
jam good to hear that your dd has made her choice.
Sorry to hear so many people dealing with partners/family members with MH problems.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/02/2019 06:17

Booths is a northern supermarket like Waitrose

WreckTangled · 08/02/2019 07:00

Girlie helium is expensive. We do it at the toy shop, the card factory does them really cheap though.

Food shop today I haven't really planned which isn't good of me but have a rough idea will make notes on my phone.
